DISCLAIMER Bobby is my brother-in-law but I honestly don't think that would change how he looks over my car or how he advises me. It certainly has nothing to do with the extensive level of knowledge and expertise he commands. ### The real irony is that he's been working on my cars for years, before I ended up marrying his wife's sister. I nolonger live in the Deep Creek Lake area and I'm comfortable doing basic work on my car but I drive 300+ miles every now and then when I need a thorough inspection of every square inch of the car. To give you an example - if I take my car in locally (North Carolina) to get my tires replaced and or rotated the shop (like most) will do a visual inspection. They'll tell me my inner tie rod is going bad and should be replaced. I pass on that and have a look at it myself and don't see anythign to be concerned about. Then, a month or so later, I go to the same shop for a state inspection and with a passing grade I still get a mention of a part ready to go. The odd thing is that it wasn't the same inner tie rod, this time it was the rear lateral link - they failed to "remind me" of the inner tie rod from before. Needless to say - I get work done I know needs to get done that I can't do. Anything that a shop recommends I take with a grain of salt. When I visit Bobby he tells me exactly what he sees, what my options are, and what he would do. Its the "what my options are" that you just don't get from other places. I like that he lets me make up my mind on what is worth getting done now or holding off until I have the money. I have had the pleasure to have lakeview automotive work on all my vehicles for the last 20 years. My first experience in the beginning was as a tourist visiting the area and was broke down. I was able to get the vehicle to his shop and his diagnosis was spot on and at the suggestion to a temporary fix so I could travel the 3 1/2 hour trip home; his reply was a firm reply to the negative. He went on a sunday, to another state to get the part necessary to fix my car, so I could return home the next day. I still live in the same area as then. I try to schedule work to my vehicle during the time that I visit the McHenry area so that he can work on my vehicle. I have a repair business other than automotive service and work repairing folks vehicles. I am very meticulous in my work for my customers and so the qualities and work ethics of this owner has kept me coming back for 20 some years. His honesty, integrity, attention to detail and diagnosis skills have been paramount in my decision to still have the pleasure to have them work on my vehicles. Sure there are other shops closer and sometimes I have to use them, however they have never received the level of trust that lakeview automotive has from me. I have even had problems at other shops and this owner has even called the technician to offer advice so they can properly fix the problem for my vehicle. Who does that?!? Bobby, thank you so much for your speedy, and professional help! I would love to let everyone know what an amazing garage this owner runs, and also what a kind hearted individual Bobby is! My fiance and I came to deep Creek for a nice weekend get away, when suddenly late Friday night our exhaust busted and fell off our car. After finding Bobby online, I contacted him kind of late on a Saturday to his response "if you can get the car here safely, I'm sure I can do something for you". What a blessing this was to meet Bobby! Our car needed to get a part in which Bobby did not have on hand, so he not only drove to get it, but offered to take us to a nearby restaurant so we could enjoy our trip still, and he would even pick us back up! Bobby stayed true to his word, did not leave us stranded and had my car safely back on the road in an hour! What an amazing experience my fiance and I had, I wish I had a mechanic like this back in Pittsburgh! We had only lived in Garrett County for a couple of years. One of the biggest concerns when moving into a new area is finding a mechanic that you can trust. Our jeep was picked up by One Stop Towing and he recommended Bobby Lloyd at Lakeview Automotive. We have used Bobby multiple times since and feel extremely fortunate to have a mechanic that is thorough and honest. At one point we took our Santa Fe to the Hyundai dealership and were told that we needed to get the brakes and rotors replaced. We took it to Lakeview Automotive for a second opinion and was told it was not needed at that time. It was driven for another 10,000 miles before we had Lakeview replace the brakes and rotors. Bobby did an outstanding job with the replacement and even went as far as to paint the rotors to make them look great. We appreciate Bobby's dedication and have recommended Lakeview's services to many of our friends. We are thankful that we have a great mechanic to work with in the future. Bobby did an awesome job on our 2014 Audi Q5! We had our car serviced in Frederick before heading to our house at Deep Creek Lake, the day after we arrived I found a large pool of oil under our car. I called the number on his website and despite it being after 7pm he PICKED UP THE CALL! Bobby was on it and we dropped off the car the next day. He found the issue and was able to get it fixed the same day. The prior service tech installed the filter incorrectly. Thanks Bobby for saving the day! On our way to DCL, I noticed my car's air conditioning wasn't working very well to cool down the car. Since we'd brought two cars with us I took the opportunity to see about getting it repaired while we were here. I called the shop and the owner, Bobby Lloyd, answered right away. I left the car overnight and picked it up the next afternoon. Bobby went the extra mile to replace the in-cabin filter that was filled with debris from a nesting rodent. I was visiting WISP for the weekend in February and my car's tire warning light came on. I wasn't comfortable driving back to VA with kids in the car without having my tires checked. It was a Sunday morning, but Bobby made time for me to swing by and adjusted the air pressure in all of my tires which satisfied the warning light. We were visiting the area and had a problem with our car that would have required being towed back to Virginia in order to be serviced by Audi. Even though his schedule was booked for 2 weeks, he helped us on an emergency basis. He ordered the coolant we needed and had our car all fixed up in about 45 minutes.
