The staff of Lakeview is attentive and most have been there for several years (which speaks very well of the operation) and my dog is always happy to go there. Little disappointed. My two year old Havanese was shaking. The two guys behind counter tried three times to find his bed and 3 toys! They handed me his bed which smelled of pee. I asked the guy behind the counter how did he do? His rely was, " I had to take him out several times, because he would not poop or pee in his run". Paid $164.00 and he did a poop in the parking lot! Drove back home and he was crying. Pulled into a gas station and he did another small poop. I have used Lakeview Kennels for approximately 10yrs with my Golden Retriever. Had NO complaints!! Now, I moved and came back and extremely disappointed on the care of my 10 pound Havanese. I will give you 4 stars, because the groomer did a fantastic job on him! Yes, I will give them one more try. It's November 2018 and Woody stayed at Lakeview Kennels for two weeks!!! They did a fantastic job. I just him groomed today and they did him just the way I requested! I used to take two of my dogs here for years. It was a wonderful place. My dogs always came back home so excited and you could tell they had great times. I have a new dog, and ended up bringing him here for the weekend, because of my great experience in the past. I was surprised by the people working here. It seems like they just don't care, and weren't friendly like they were in the past. I could tell they weren't dog people with how they lacked to interact with my dog.... when they work at a dog place! The vibe there made me anxious the entire time when I was gone. When I brought my dog in, they immediately just yanked him back into the door, and it was a very odd thing. I also found it weird that they do not let you bring your own dog bed. I am almost positive that in the past I brought my past dogs beds. I asked if I could leave a toy, and they only allowed one hard one, which I never got back. I was disappointed that they don't let you bring the bed/toys because it's already hard on a dog boarding for the first time. When I picked my dog up, he seemed kind of off. He wasn't eating his food much (he used to LOVE meal times, but suddenly changed), and would only eat a few pieces, very slowly. He also just seemed very bloated or something. I believe they over fed my dog. The bag I gave them seemed a lot more empty than it should have. I wrote out, and went over his feeding/medicine instructions, but I got the sense they weren't totally listening, which I believe was true. The only person I found to be friendly here was the groomer. He gave my dog a good bath. My dog was also just very tired and acting not his hyper self. Of course I know it's normal after boarding, but what made me very nervous was when I found medicine in my dog's bag they gave to me, which was NOT his medicine. It was large pills, marked for a dog with the same name as mine. The instructions said take with cheese, which I never give my dog, and I'm wondering if they fed my dog cheese with the pills in question. I panicked when I realized him acting weird could be related to these pills. I immediately called, and told Lakeview my concerns. They said it was for another dog, and they didn't give my dog the medicine. They didn't take a chance to ask anyone, they just said this instantly. I realized there was no point in arguing, as they truly didn't seem to care, and I decided to wait consult with my vet, and wait a few days to see how he was. What I thought was suspicious was when I picked up my dog, I was told there was another dog that had the same name, but he was leaving the following day. When I called (the next day) to tell them about the pills, I asked if I should bring them back for the dog. They told me the dog already left when my dog did. I know that's probably not true, as I heard otherwise while I was there. It's so concerning to know that the dog who was actually there was without his pills for the day we had them, too.. I don't know if they were lying about giving my dog the other dog's pills, but either way, that means the actual dog didn't have his pills. I couldn't prove that my dog had taken other pills, but my family members and I believe this is what happened, and why he acted very strange for a week. He got better after a while, and is now back to his normal self, thankfully. I do feel bad giving this kind of review, because I have always had amazing experiences with Lakeview in the past. I'm guessing there was a change of management? Because the people working there were not friendly, and don't seem to know what they were doing. I'm giving the one extra star because of the experiences we had for about the last 10 years, up until now. I'm not sure what is going on here, but I'm not going to be taking my dog here anymore. I'd rather find a kennel with friendlier, more competent people. There's lots of those in Roswell/ Marietta. I truly hope the management here improves and does a better job caring for peoples' dogs. read more

We love Lakeview Kennel! Our Fender has major anxiety, they have always taken great care of of him. This last week, we were out of town and got a call they were transporting him to the emergency vet due to vomiting and wheezing. They made the right call. Fender's stomach was twisted (gastric dilatation volvulus). If they hadn't took him when they did, he probably wouldn't have made it. They stayed outside (Covid procedures wouldn't allow them in the facility) until they had an update. They even called to check on him this morning! I was stunned by the behavior of the person at the front desk when I walked in to board my dogs for the holidays. We had been there previously & it was ok not the greatest but ok. Yes one of my dogs is so anxious he gets loud & wont stop barking. As I walked in, the person never greeted me but very rudely lunged from behind the counter & shouted at my dogs - No Bark & sprayed bitter apple or something in his face. I said stop - what are you doing. My poor dog was cowered down trembling on the floor. His response was that they need to learn respect just like children. Children can talk & understand. My dogs can't talk & tell me what was done to them etc. I was so upset - I was not there for a training session but to board my dogs. I wanted to quickly run out but I had a flight that I had to be on within a few hours & no where else to take my dogs. I was so nervous & anxious about leaving them - it just wracked my nerves. They did a groom the day I picked them up & it just looked like they whacked the razor over them in a hurry as one of the dogs ears were uneven. Not sure if this is same groomer because previously they did a good job. When I returned to pick them up there were 3 people at the counter. The original person who did the intake when I initially dropped my dog off never even looked up until the other guy asked him for my dogs meds. He Never said a word to me. When one young man brought the dogs out, one was trembling & I asked why. Oh they just do that was the answer from one of the other guys. As I was paying, the original guy who did the intake came from behind the counter & went over to my dogs as my back was to him & I quickly turned around & asked him what are you doing? Just cuddling them - I didn't believe that for one moment. My dogs are not their normal selves. They are acting afraid & skittish. Extremely quiet & just staring. GOD knows what happened to them. I am so hurt. Needless to say - I won't be coming back. It's clear that they do not love dogs or people for that matter & customers must not be a priority. My pets are like family & I expect them to be treated well. I couldn't live with myself treating animals & people the way that I & my pets were treated. Definitely Not good at all. 1-4-2022 Update- I was contacted by someone from this establishment regarding my experience with them. My dog was traumatized while at Lakeview Kennels & even bit a handler. When she was picked up, they didn't even return her own collar with rabies tag, and when called could not find it. Bad experience for my dog and for me. so bad I don't want to say any more. read more

My family has been bringing our puppies here for 20+ years. It's a little spot hidden back in the woods and I just love the "back in time" feeling I get while coming up the driveway. Believe it or not, the majority of East Cobb used to be like this: forested lots with little ranch homes tucked back in the fold. I even remember horses and cows being part of my daily sightings growing up... obviously that is no longer. I'm glad Lakeview holds on to the aesthetic, and I hope it never changes. We initially brought our pups here because of amount of time they get outdoors. They're not put in small cages, but long runs that are both indoor and outdoor. Our energetic lab comes home happy but exhausted, and I think that's a good sign. She always gets so excited when we make the turn up the driveway: she knows she's going to "camp." This may be in part to the fact that they feed the dogs high-quality Bil Jac, unless you bring in your own food. Additional nature walks and play time is available and the grooming services are great. I kind of want whatever shampoo they use... it smells divine. Plus, I'd never get fleas! Even though it's a long long drive from my Midtown abode, I will definitely be bringing my future pup to Lakeview for all of his boarding needs. It's truly a fantastic little spot. read more

One of my dogs has some anxiety issues and every time I've boarded him elsewhere he seems so miserable when I pick him up and can't get into the car fast enough. When I pick him up from Lakeview however, he seems mostly calm and content. I don't know how they do it, but they ease the boarding process for my little nervous man. I normally would take my dog to my father's for overnight care if I am not able to be home but needed a place for him for one evening in February as we had family and friends coming in to surprise my husband and we would be out all evening. My little old man Jake needed supervision at that time and safety. He was dealing with the after effects of vestibular disease (vertigo that lasts a few days for older dogs). He seemed very well cared for and I appreciate that since we needed a safe close to home place for him to spend the night. Thank you for caring for our little buddy. read more

Wish I could give a negative star, but that isn't possible. Jim the un-professional "groomer" cut my cat with the shaver and cut his below the quick, leaving my cat with a bloody stump. The "groomer" admitted to the better business bureau (in response to a complaint that I filed) that yes he cut my cat with the shaver and yes, he cut his claw below the quick causing it to bleed, but, SO WHAT. Not to mention that this facility gave my cat fleas. If you value the health of your much beloved pet, do not bring your animal here to get groomed. Appreciative the kennel had room at the last minute since my dog sitter fell through. But unsatisfied with the care of my dog. She wet her bed which she and the breed itself does not pee where they sleep. The $30 overnight stay now cost me at least $130 to replace the bed. The owner didn't offer compensation (even an complimentary stay) for the ruined bed and no apology. I've boarded her many times due to work and personal travel for numerous days with no issue. She's in the house while I'm at work all day with no accidents. I will go back to my previous kennel. It's further away and more expensive but she's well taken care of and doesn't wet her bed read more
