Stayed for a long weekend and it was a very goid experience, staff is very friendly, and yes i would come back.

My room had fleas, bed bugs, and broken blinds. The woman at the desk refused to clean the room or change it. No housekeeping was done during my 3-day stay. The place is extremely unhygienic and can make you sick. Further, the woman running the motel took $100 cash deposit at check-in as a refundable security deposit but refused to refund it at check-out. She retained it for no reason. I asked for a damage list and a recorded joint inspection of the room, but she refused. "Report me or review me as you like, and don't come back" was her response when I asked for a refund. She is a seasoned cheat. In the US, I have never come across a business with such low ethics. This business is a stain on this country's otherwise high ethical standards. read more

I was charged for damage I didn't incur. My wife, grandson and I spent (2) nights here (May 19-20, 2022). The reason I didn't give it a "1" is because it met the basic requirements of a motel. It was clean (sanitary) and the electrical, plumbing and HVAC worked. The breakfast was "continental" style delivered in a basket. Light, but adequate. The check-in was far more complicated than it should have been, since I had already prepaid through Chase. Still it took about 1/2 hour plus the 45 min I spent on the phone with Chase to make sure I wasn't double charged. (The fact I had to wait for the proprietor to unlock the office door should have been my first hint.) Upon entering the room we discovered the bed sheets had what appeared to be a large wine (or juice) stain on both the fitted and top sheet. Since they had clearly been laundered and were clean, and we were tired, and I was in no mood to deal with the front office again, we took photos to document the condition and elected not to have them changed. Upon check-out, the proprietor did a room inspection and pointed out the stained sheets. I explained that was the way we found them and was made to understand my security deposit wold be refunded...until I looked at my Visa statement. I was charged for damage I did not incur. Either the proprietor is running a scam or his housekeepers are keeping things from him. I am 69 years old and have spent nights in various lodgings in 47 states, plus at least twenty countries on four continents. There is only so much you can do to be able to keep up a place with the prices being offered. You get everything you need for the night- shower, TV, clean sheets, coffee. We can't say enough about the hospitality of the father and son duo, Charles and Colin, that run this motel! I picked this motel because I read great reviews online and, boy, did they deliver. It might sound crazy, but these guys really made our trip to the Falls special. We were three females who decided to take a road trip from Chicago to Niagara and really didn't know what we were doing or how to find our way around. When we arrived at Falls Motel, we instantly felt like, dare I say, family. Upon entering, Colin pulled out four maps and pieced them together to show us all the ways to get around Niagara Falls and the area. They told us where we could go for late night snacks since we got in so late, where to shop, where to park for free at the Falls, etc. And the amazing part is that we didn't even ask! They were so accommodating! Also, once they found out we we three friends traveling together, they upgraded us to the family room with three individual beds, so we could each have our own. Now how great is that! Once I got the directions, Charles met us outside, walked us around the room, and asked to help with our luggage!! We should have asked if they were married! These guys were unbelievable! The room also included a quaint little basket of muffins, bananas, water and juice as our 'continental breakfast'. Just a couple words about the room. This isn't a luxury suite. Obviously, this is a motel so it has been around awhile. If you are used to luxury accommodations, I would venture elsewhere. We decided to cross The Niagara Falls border so we can get an early start on driving. We wanted to find something cheap but decent. This location was the worse I have ever seen. The reviews say the owner is great and accommodating and the rooms are nice. ALL LIES... The Bates motel is better than this place and the owner looks like he is straight out of a horror movie. We had a queen bed with twin. The bed sheets look like they came from good Will. The twin bed was put in a corner right near the bathroom. My aunt swear she was getting bit by bugs which I'm sure was true. The furniture is so old it looks like it is from Abraham Lincoln's parents. The lamps are old and broken. They should have paid us just to stay there. Beds are super squeaky and the bathroom was nasty. Tv only show basic news channels. I can't believe Travelocity actually have them on their website. I will be calling them as well. If we didn't prepay for the room and only needed a couple hours sleep I would have left to sleep in a truck stop. DON'T WAST YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE. read more

Great hospitality, cozy little old-fashioned rooms, very convenient location near the highway, and the only negative thing was quite small and a work-around existed for it. M'lady and I went to the US side of the falls to do some shopping as we have in the past, but this time we decided to stay on the US side, where-as in the past we've stay on the Canadian one. We chose this place because of all the good reviews and the decent price, and we were not at all disappointed. Upon checking in, we were greeted by a kind-hearted fellow. The lobby was quite small on the customer side, but that didn't both us. The person who signed us in made plenty of small talk, and made us feel right at home. Once we entered our room, we heard a knock on the door. A younger fellow had brought us a tray with our breakfast. Almost everything on the tray was quite healthy to our surprise (being used to holes in the wall with so-called "continental breakfast" with just about nothing healthy available for breakfast). The room had an air conditioned, however considering the temperature was quite cold, we didn't use it (however I did confirm that it worked, as I was curious if it was the kind that has the heater and AC in one, but it wasn't). The thermostat was locked and it said not to change the settings. I was a tad chilly, and since when we returned to our room from our shopping that day it was rather late, I decided not to bother the staff asking them to turn the temperature up, and instead m'lady and I helped ourselves to the extra blankets and pillows we found in the closet. As an added bonus, we even got reception on our cell phones from the Canadian side while we were on one side of the room. Earlier in the day the wifi wasn't working very well so I ended up using the internet off of my smartphone (aka tethered), but later on that got fixed. It was definitely a nice alternative to have while we were researching some of the items/stores we were shopping for/at. Also, the check-in was earlier than a fancy hotel we stayed at the night before on the Canadian side (it was 2 P.M. at the Falls Motel), and the check-out was also not as early as some of the hole in the wall motels we'd been at, which was 11 A.M. for the Falls Inn. So all-in-all, we'd definitely go there again, based on location, hospitality, and over-all amazing value for the money spent. read more

After a long drive from Boston to Niagara (I'm talking 12 hours... I took the scenic route/I refuse to use toll roads) arriving at the Falls Motel is a welcome breath of fresh air. To be honest, I expected the kind of front desk treatment that most people expect when they think of a roadside motel. You know the type, skeezy (possibly with one or more visible skin conditions, halitosis that could gag a maggot, the vague hint of a desire to flay you and wear your face as a mask), disinterested (in anything but aforementioned flaying), and well... generally cold. Not so at the Falls Motel. The front office staff were welcoming and pleasant. chatted for a bit, they explained the nearby attractions to me (a first time visitor to the falls) and showed me to my room. I stayed in moderately sized single/dual occupancy room with 1 queen bed and an (unexpected) twin-size bed. The room smells pleasant (not the usual heavy scent of caustic cleaning chemicals). There is an HD TV (which I don't plan to use, but it's nice to see something other than an old tube TV), microwave, coffee pot, mini fridge (empty of the usual overpriced minibar stuff. It's almost like they actually want you to store things in it), a desk, etc. I'll definitely be staying at the Falls Motel next time I'm in Niagara! read more

I stayed here for just one night. The hotel policy is to check-in before 10 PM. I didn't knew that, but the owner was very polite to leave me a voicemail for that. Unfortunately, I missed the voicemail. So, the owner made special arrangements for my check-in. I'm upset that I have to give this place even one star and insulted at the entire experience of having stayed here. After a 10 hour drive north, we checked in around 3-4am maybe.. it was a long drive. It was freezing cold and when we walked in, the room seemed alright, but it was cold. So, as it was so late, my boyfriend immediately ran to get the gentleman, wait, he was no gentleman....... the male* who checked us in to see how the heat worked. There was no visible thermostat, only an outdated ac unit/fan. So the man came, a bit obtrusively, into the room and acted as if it was perfectly warm and pointed at the base board heaters and said "see, there's heat". Okay, fair enough. It wasn't warm, but it wasn't freezing and I try to be easy to get along with and it was very very early in the morning and we desperately needed rest. Needless to say, we froze all night, and when I went to the bathroom it was so filthy I almost vomited. The next day we collected our belongings and returned our key well before the check-out time. We had taken the initiative to pay for two nights so we wouldn't have to check out the next day before we knew what a shithole the place was. We asked for our money for the second day back as we were not going to be staying there and were checking out before the rental day began. The man was very rude, tried to ignore us, raised his voice and said giving refunds was not his policy. We were not asking for a refund. WE WERE THE ONES WHO CHOSE TO PAY FOR A SECOND NIGHT. We were not rude to him but I told him the room was filthy and even showed him these pictures I took of the hideous bathroom and he still refused to give us our 60 dollars back. It was a horrible experience. We were happy to pay for the half-night we stayed, but paying for a night we were not going to stay when the entire reason was the horrific condition of the room, to me, was a no-go. Anyway, he refused, and that is fine. We were happy to eat 60 bucks to not have to deal with whatever that crazy nastiness was. He even had the audacity to practically chase us out of the parking lot and called to further harass my boyfriend later. We don't know what he wanted when he called. We were finished dealing with crazy man. Anyways, as I promised him, here is the review from that horrible situation. I hope anyone who considers staying here will see this mess and go right on up the way to the Quality Inn. It was 5-10 dollars more a night, the service was very polite, the beds were clean, and I was able to have a shower that didn't make me feel dirtier than when I got in it. Ugh. I'm so happy never ever to return here. Good riddance. Frankly, I hope the Falls Motel, falls into the Niagara Falls. read more

I found this place on yelp, and was I happy to do so. Everything in the reviews was right. I was greeted by a very funny friendly gentlemen, he had maps and list of things to do in the area. I had a pleasant stay here, despite the torn up roadway making the location inconvenient via detours. Charles & Colin were wonderfully helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The included breakfast of Otis Spunkmyer, banana & juice (and a water) was appreciated. They provided many helpful tips for eating and sightseeing. The wifi worked perfectly for me. TV was great. Price was wonderful. The place was clean and cleaned every day. Nice bench to sit on outside room. Storm door. Great showerhead. My gripes, besides the roadway issues that are out of their control and will be fixed in a couple months were two: Being seated on the toilet has ones legs immediately jammed into the tub and plastic shower doors--waaay too close together. and two, late night smokers on the nearby benches had nasty cigarette smells wafting in the room after 11 p.m. (They do have a lights-out, quiet rule at 10 p.m. but I guess this is not fully enforceable.) My room was quite dark with a brick wall and wood paneling--almost the feeling of a "cabin"--a/c use was not required even though it was the heat of summer. The seating layout was odd and not matched well with lighting or TV. These are trade-off "risks" for a cheaper motel and certainly the friendly service and cleanliness make up for the concerns. If you are going to be out of your room most of the time (or are traveling solo) The Falls is ideal. read more

Great motel- Colin H. said it all in his prior review-and I totally agree. This is a family run business, and they go out of their way to see that you have a great experience. The room was clean and comfortable. Good lighting and nicely placed outlet for charging devices- no crawling on the floor to find an outlet or having to call everyone maintenance for an extension cord. The microwave and refrigerator were convenient, and the HD Tv had a lot of stations. The owners are local, and this is a business where the money goes back into the community. I told them I was on my way to see the Falls and they told me to stop by the motel on my way there to get information and maps. They went out of their way to accommodate me and make sure that I had a great stay, and I am very appreciative of it. The room was very clean and the rate was great, the most affordable in town. Each room has a TV, fridge, microwave, etc. -- you can tell they have been well maintained over the years. Falls Motel is family owned and operated and I will gladly stay there again when I return for another visit to the area. About stay: 2 adults (late 20s), 2 nights, Traditional Room Falls Motel is an ADORABLE and convenient place to stay if you intend to sleep on the American Side of Niagara Falls. The location is on a quiet street and just a short drive to downtown or to any of Niagara Park's attractions. The motel has a special charm that you won't find elsewhere. It isn't the cleanest or the most updated so if you're looking for something high class this probably isn't for you. But if you're looking for a unique and enjoyable experience, call Falls Motel. The owners are the nicest most delightful gentlemen with splendid Australian accents. They have loads of advice and helpful tips to enhance your Niagara Falls experience and are a joy to talk to. (Bonus: They even bring you breakfast and a newspaper in a cute little basket.) This situation may not apply to all but I'll share to help show how great the Falls Motel owners are: they offered us an active duty military discount AND when we arrived, they charged us even LESS than the original rate we were supposed to pay (during Memorial Day weekend!). OK. The four stars isn't about the room itself. The rooms are cozy small, but clean. There's nothing really incredible about the motel itself. However....if you're really on vacation and all you're doing is using the room for sleeping and showering, this place is perfect, easily accessible off the Thruway (in spite of the construction on Buffalo Avenue at the moment -- fall 2012) and extremely affordable. But the best part is the family that runs it. They're attentive, fun, funny, helpful and really care about your stay. They make you comfortable and jump at the chance to give you tourist or local information as well as the daily paper and a basket breakfast to get you started. Five stars to Charles and Colin. Great place to stay for a couple days. No more than that. These are simple, no frills accomodations. Positives: AC, Wi-Fi, convenience to the falls attractions, quiet neighborhood, free continental breakfast basket. Negatives: the mini fridge never got cold enough to store our leftovers and drinks (maybe it was just our room), TV is awkwardly placed so you can only watch it from one bed, not both. Bathroom is outdated and could use some sprucing up. And no pool. The 2 gentlemen that run this place are very nice and will give you all the info you need for seeing the attractions in the area. read more

This is the sort of place you would stay at on the side of the highway for $40. The sheets were stained and gross in the second bed so three of us had to cram into one bed. The drive between the motel and the falls is short but goes through a sad industrial area and then parking is $20 once you get down there. Breakfast was packaged muffins and bananas and juice boxes. I loved staying at this place. When I made my reservation online, the owner called me about 10 minutes later to confirm the details. We knew we would be in for a treat. We drove from Boston late at night, so we knew we'd be having a late check-in, so I gave the owner a call, and he thanked us for letting him know, and assured us that our keys would be in the drop box. The amenities were great for the price of the room. Warm water, clean bedding, no weird smells...it was great. The muffins, bottled water and juice were a nice touch as well. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the best part was the family offering to drive us to the Falls and pick us up. This ended up being a lifesaver, as we had a huge Uhaul trailer and didn't want to mess with parking. The place is run by a man, his wife and son. They're very friendly and will give you tips/info on what to see and do. All in all, GREAT experience here...you won't regret it :) read more

Cramped, small, out dated, only one bed had a view of the TV, noisy old air conditioner, spiders, dirty sheets, lack of and faulty plug ins, poor lighting, and the shower! Every time we used it the water pressure would change on its own and go back and forth to scalding hot or ice cold and no in between. Nearly impossible to even was your hair. Told the owners/staff and they said they fixed it but it was exactly the same. We were there 6 long nights. Was sooo glad to finally get out of there!!!! Never ever again. I reserved the room based on the reviews I had read here and I was not disappointed, I totally recommend this place. It was a little bit hard to find, because the main street ( Buffalo ave ) was closed due to construction but that was no problem because I was using GPS navigation. It is about 10 minutes driving to the falls ( or maybe you might like to walk a little bit). The place was really quiet, probably due to street construction and you can park your car right in front of your room, so no distance to carry your stuff around. I got room number 1, it had 3 bed, 1 twin and 1 regular size. The room had everything you need for a stay, ( TV, Fridge, Microwave, coffee maker and FREE WIFI.) The bed was cosy, and the room was warm and very clean. and the clerk was really helpful, they left the key out for me because I checked in late. They left breakfast for us ( unfortunately I couldn't tell them that we're a party of 3, so they left breakfast for 2). My wife and I stayed at this motel during our visit to Niagara Falls. I have stayed at many US hotels and motels, but nowhere I have found caring staff like this. My rating is not because of the amenities in the motel, but for the service. In fact, the building and the room was ordinary, although clean and warm. The Internet access from room is jittery. The service was excellent, we really enjoyed it, and would certainly remember for many years. They made our Niagara trip quite memorable. We did not rented car, so we took pickup and dropoff service, both at Buffalo, from the hotel. In both cases, they did not showed up "on time", they showed up "before time"! Particularly for the dropoff on our departure day, when we had to leave at 7 AM, it was him who was ready before we were! During our stay in Niagara (2 full days), they provided us complimentary dropoff (in morning) and pickup (in evening) in the Niagara State Park area. They also offered us a complimentary ride to the Old Niagara Fort, which is about 20 miles north from the Niagara Falls State Park. It was not in our original itinerary, we went there on their recommendation, and really liked the place. They way motel staff (both father and son) treated us, drove us around, stopped at vista points, talked about the place, answered our questions, we felt like visiting family. If you are visiting Niagara Falls, I strongly recommend staying at this place. read more
