He properly took care of an outside faucet issue that was "repaired" previously 24 months before. I noticed my outside faucet was slightly spraying water from the "repair part" recommended two years prior. In April 2024, I called Harvey Baker Plumbing to fix this faucet as it was leaking from the knob at the time. A young gentleman came and said he did not have the part on his vehicle to replace it (something to do with the pipe size), but he could "repair" it. However, I would not be able to turn the water on and off from the faucet knob. He said the nozzle at the end of the hose would serve as the on/off mechanism. When I discovered the current leak, I called and the receptionist said she could get someone out between 12-2 the next day. I explained the previous situation above and said I definitely want the faucet "replaced" this time. She looked up my previous invoice and said she would note on the ticket the faucet should be replaced rather than repaired. Next day, she called again and said she could have the technician come out earlier if I was available. I said I was and Juan came 15 minutes later, a little after 10am. He was a joy to work with, smiling and providing great conversation and expertise! I explained everything and he said he had the necessary part to rectify the leak. He did a great job. When I got the invoice, I noticed the parts only cost $33 compared to the "repair" part of $10. I was surprised the previous gentleman couldn't drive 4 miles to the office to get the necessary part and recommended the "repair" instead. I estimated I could have saved approximately $200 of labor charges had the work been properly completed the first time. I would have requested the previous technician get the necessary part had I known the difference in part costs was minimal. At least the "repair" lasted 2 years. I will probably continue to use Harvey Baker Plumbing in the future, but I'll make sure I request a more seasoned technician like Juan next time. Final note - Harvey Baker Plumbing now charges a 3% credit card fee on the invoice, which was not their practice previously. It was not a big deal to me ($7.75), and I understand a family business would prefer cash or a check. If I have a major plumbing issue in the future, at least now I am aware of the added fee.

After listening carefully to my description of the water conditions we face after the recent installation of a saltiness water treatment system that promised clean odor & taste results ... not delivered, he spent 20' reviewing my system needs; outlining the causal elements, the ability of the new system to address them, a model of the most effective system for our well water treatment, & a recommended addition that would cover my concerns. I left the conversation with the knowledge & understanding to address the issues in my system, and immense gratitude for Gary's sincere interest in helping another ... by his 30 years in the business of water treatment and the kind regard for another--all w/o charge. Pleased and confirmed that some among the trades prove worthy of helpfulness for no more compensation than to be of service to others, in a world that is so corrupt of self-interest that we may all soon see water departments add a paywall to the use of household toilets. I am extremely disappointed with the way Rainkings handled a recent interaction with my grandparents. My grandparents are seniors, and despite a clearly posted NO SOLICITING sign and multiple verbal refusals from my grandmother, three sales representatives continued their pitch and obtained a signature from my grandfather after she had already said no repeatedly. This felt highly inappropriate and predatory. I am their legal Power of Attorney and was never contacted or consulted. When I called to request that the contract be voided and asked for written confirmation, I was met with resistance and dismissive behavior. One of the representatives, Gil, focused more on trying to keep the sale than addressing my request, even stating he was "busy" when I asked again for documentation confirming cancellation. That response was unacceptable and unprofessional. The sales pitch did not align with the signed contract, and the proposed pricing was higher than their existing water purification agreement. This situation left me feeling ignored, disrespected, and concerned that my grandparents were taken advantage of. I am HOT! If this contract is not voided and confirmed in writing immediately by this company I will be escalating this matter further. I do not play about my grandparents and senior citizens!! Companies working in senior communities should operate with integrity, respect boundaries, and honor clear refusals.
