Since that time the facility changed management & became The Preston of the Park Cities. My mother has been a resident since the place first opened as Harbor Chase. The place is gorgeous and they are far more creative with their food and menus than any other place we initially looked at. Although there has been turnover in staff over the years, the best key players on staff stayed & have become real assets to the place. When Covid hit we were tremendously concerned about how this would be dealt with and how the residents would be protected. Watermark, who is the management company have done a phenomenal job handling the pandemic and keeping residents safe and their families well informed. You'd be hard pressed to find a better place for them than The Preston of the Park Cities.

We visited dozens of sites on the internet, and drove to six places in the north Dallas area. The one place that jumped out to us was Parkview in Frisco. We have never been sorry that we chose this as our home. It is a an attractive facility, and the landscaping is beautiful. Parkview has several different floor plans and apartment sizes, but we chose a two bedroom, two bath apartment that meets our needs perfectly. It has a modern kitchen, large living/dining room and a comfortable balcony with a view. All utility expenses (except TV and phone) are included. Our maintenance needs are also included and fixed rapidly just by a phone call. But it is the friendly residents and serving staff that puts Parkview ahead of other retirement complexes. Smiles and hello's greet you in the hallways and warm conversations are the norm in the dining room. And by the way, the food and service iin our Embers Restaurant is first class, with a wide variety of selections and all prepared and served well. We love to take cruise vacations, and our life "aboard" Parkview is very much like that on a premium cruise ship: daily activities, entertainment, dining, etc. So if you are looking for a retirement place, you should come by Parkview in Frisco. We think you will like it . . . we certainly do. Bob M P.S. Here's a link to a website we publish highlighting life here at Parkview in Frisco: www.parkviewers.com

I've noticed that there's ALWAYS a happy buzz in the restaurant - which to me says a lot about how much people enjoy themselves and I've NEVER seen that so consistently at any of the other many many communities that I've been to - and the food is GREAT! Parkview actually have the ONLY restaurant that I've been to in the US where I can get a salmon cooked and served as it should be - and I'm from northern Sweden so I definitely know my salmon! :-D ...and the grilled chicken salad with the Chef's homemade dressing - O M G it's so fingerlickin' gooooood I wished they sold it bottled!! The last time I visited, I got the chance to see their new Assisted Living and Memory Care next door and...WOW!! That is the most astonishing AL/MC that I've EVER seen - on any side of the Atlantic ocean! It seriously looks like a serene SPA with a Texas-twist - it's sooooo beautiful in every little detail and it's amazingly well thought through to help the residents thrive. It totally astonished me and still, I have a veeeery critical eye when it comes to living conditions and surroundings! :-D I definitely recommend this place! :-)

My desires for a good facility were broad and many, but I wasn't about to settle for second best. Here is a partial list of my criteria: Cleanliness, good food, varied activities and outings, committed staff, complete levels of care available as residents age, on-site nurse, community involvement, family interaction and the list goes on. Of course, the price each month had to be reasonable. I looked at 15 different facilities in the Richardson, Dallas and Plano areas. I saw places I would never let my loved one go into. I worried that my loved one's needs and my standards were never going to be met at a fair price. Then one day I visited HarborChase in McKinney. This facility was exactly what I had been looking for and more. As we toured around and I met several staff members, I was struck by the happiness and positive atmosphere created there. It was comfortable to be around everyone and I knew right away this was the place I could trust to take over caring for our family's loved one. After a long meeting with the executive staff, all of my questions were answered to my satisfaction. We then took our loved one to check out the place and look at a beautiful studio apartment with a patio. He was hooked immediately and HarborChase became his home and our second home. We have never looked back, and our entire family is so grateful to the caring staff for always, every day, going the extra mile to ensure everything promised to us is delivered. Vicki Moore

They were wonderful getting her signed up and actually had her at one of their sister locations for the first couple of months while they waited on their new facility licensing. They took care of the move into the other facility and then the move back once they were open. They went above and beyond getting her acclimated and getting her to join in on activities. Grandma passed a few weeks ago and her care was exemplary right to the end. Ashley (Executive Director) and Tamera (Head of Patient Care) we're always available to answer questions or concerns and kept us updated whenever needed. Everyone there felt like family and we will actually miss seeing them on a regular basis, because they were such a big part of our lives this past year. I can't say enough about how grateful we are to them for taking such good care of Grandma.

There were some wonderful staff at Sage Oak (Amanda, Mitchell, Diedre, Tay, Ashley, Dorcus, Felecia, Soozie and more) but the constant turnover was a real problem when my brother was a resident there. Some of the attitudes of some the caregivers were truly despicable and that is what made the experience at Sage Oak a difficult one. Staff not properly trained resulted in patient accidents. Staff laziness, gossip circles, complete insubordination, and cell phone obsession took place while residents' needs were often times ignored. Many in the management branch of this company changed positions frequently. During my brother's 19 month residency, there were 5 different directors of nursing. There were executive director changes. (at least 4 that I can remember.) The one person in upper management who always addressed family concerns was Skylar, the last executive director we experienced. He truly walks a dedicated path in the field of elder care and is a huge credit to this company. The owner Loe is rarely visible and manages to live in a different reality from the difficult issues that Sage Oak staff, residents and their families often endure.

In just one week, it is clear that their success stems from kindness, compassion, specialized dementia training, and genuine accountability. My dad has frontal lobe dementia, which makes communication a significant challenge. While any move has a learning curve, the staff has come alongside us every step of the way. My dad is smiling, happy, and honestly seems more content here than he was at home. Communication is phenomenal. We receive regular updates, and the care is incredibly personalized. A perfect example: my brother visited unannounced and found staff sitting with my dad helping him do 'work.' When he needed to use the restroom, the staff immediately jumped in to assist so my brother could focus on just being a son. This allows us to enjoy our visits rather than acting as caregivers. Contrast this with our previous facility, where my dad had two ER visits for falls and a police call for aggression within his first week. At Sage Oaks, he has had zero falls and zero aggressive episodes that couldn't be redirected by their skilled team. When he had a 'bad' day, they didn't call us to come 'fix it'; they called to ask questions about him as a person so they could tailor their approach. If you are looking for a true home away from home where you can entrust your loved one's care. We were worried about the distance from our home to Sage Oaks and with the care he is receiving the distance has been no problem. If looking for a place for a loved one stop by and check out this facility! You and your loved ones will not be disappointed!

We started at another local facility, thought it seemed homey, and nice. Two years later, we realized it was not a caring place, but a dungeon where you put your loved one to ride out their life. Once again, we toured many places, had made a decision on one, was on the waiting list. For the first time this place came up on a search! So we went and toured it. Director and the Sales person were very nice. Accommodating, assuring, but we had already really decided on the other place. Next few days, it was heat on our minds, and we did a surprise visit back to Oak Ridge unannounced. Same thing, even better, they had a room with a lot of windows, the whole place was clean, no smell, staff was respondent, responsive, and engaged. We were shocked at how everyone there participates, in everything. The Director, Sales, Med Tech, Maintenance man, everyone is involved all day. We changed our mind and came here. One month later, could not be happier. Director Jenni runs a taught ship, she knows everything. She is out and about all day. Sale, Alexis too is either on a tour or helping residents. The place is so clean! So warm & cosy. Food is good! Plenty of activities! Everyone there is on the same page, period! I can almost start crying again, thinking back at how the other place where he came from was so disrespectful, mean, negligent, un-caring, belligerent to our loved one. Their staff lied and falsified papers, and orders to the doctors so they could get knock out pills so the residents were out by 4 pm. Biggest note I can share, put a camera in the room so you can monitor the care in the room. It may be shocking to you! Here at Oak Ridge, they encourage cameras so you a see the first class care and service being given to your loved one. Such a difference. This type of care is extraordinary! Our loved one is slowly declining, but their care there is right on every change. Their Resident Dr works great with you to understand and get what you need. Physical Therapy is awesome! I just don't know what to say. We have visited 12 facilities in the area. Most were just bad. We know that one, that if they were a pound for animals, they would be closed by the city. It is our responsibility to seek out and fine a place to care for those who mean so much to us. We thank God, for Oak Ridge, their management, their staff, physical therapy, Doctor, maintenance man, chef, all of them. They do it better than any place we could have ever imagined. Check them out if you have need for Memory Care. This isn't a doomsday end of the road, this is a country club where friends gather to enjoy life. That's about all I can say...
