We had a flaky pastry with cheese and egg - excellent and not too heavy! We also had their last caramel cream filled crumpet - also excellent and it is filled so plan how you eat it. Everything else looked so good, including their bakery bread, that I wanted one of each but was pretty sure that would not have worked traveling. The place was nothing special (yet) but it was clean and had cute tables and chairs as well as counter seating for when it gets busier. It also had parking around the building AND a drive through window (for those familiar with the bakery choices or just wanting a beverage). I was not in on the initial encounter with the counter person but my husband wasn't thrilled with the interaction. Not sure which side of the counter the breakdown occurred but it is true that she didn't smile or seem to want to be there and was a bit curt when asked to warm our egg pastry. The manager stepped in immediately to make sure our pastry was warmed in an oven for a minute. (They, THANKFULLY don't use microwaves which was fine by me.) It was perfect. If ever I'm in Minot, I'll make a point of coming here with a much bigger appetite!

You absolutely cannot show up an hour before close and expect a full case, or even that day's lunch offer, (which I never order anyway.) Personally, I love that for 2 reasons: less food waste & it motivates you to get there before they run out. With that out of the way, on to the "good stuff" & I do mean that both literally & figuratively. I'll note they are listed as French pastries, this is important, as it sets an expectation comparatively to, say, the local donut shop/ the other "bread (pastry) shop" - &, they are very different styles, indeed. Humble brag moment, International traveler here & I've had the pleasure of some amazing pastries. These guys do fit the French-style that they're boasting about. They made a solid almond croissant & have some tasty savory rotations, as well as sweet. Their crepes are my favorite eat-out breakfast item in town. They offer both sweet & savory options, another bonus, as I'm a savory gal. In short, i probably don't go here as often as I should

My sister and I come here all the time, it's an amazing little cafe and I've never had issues here…read more I've never had a drink made wrong or the wrong food brought to me, and the customer service is always amazing. Coffee can be a little weak sometimes but that's because it is important to ask for it stronger/extra sweet. Everyone that works there is friendly and respectful and I know the owner works so hard to make sure that the space is inclusive and safe for ALL people. Love this local cafe, I would highly recommend the turkey and garlic aioli sandwich!!!

I'm as shocked as you & it was a TIGHT race for #1... let me tell you, there was practically an entire head of garlic in each scone & I loved it) 1. Oatmeal Cream Pie!!! (Aside from being nostalgic, it was the most unique. A completely unexpected delight of a not-to-sweet treat. Had that fresh baked soft oatmeal cookie texture & taste - yup, savory gal picks sweet for the win!) As always, service was great on out 4 boxes to-go for our scone throw down - 4 of us ranking our favorites & casting our votes. The official results may vary from my ratings. ; )

Allow me to set the scene: The kid turns 30 today. Since the…read moreday he hit 13, he's become the "no, don't embarrass me" type - stay out of the spotlight, small dinner out, no big parties, and ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BRING ANYTHING TO SCHOOL OR WORK that might draw attention. Imagine my surprise, no, shock, when he replied "you know where I work" when I sent him a happy birthday message & asked if he'd like me to drop off cookies / cupcakes like the old school days. As his mom, I knew immediately that was a "yes" in code. I also knew that I was unprepared & had a 2hr lunch to make it happen or break his wee little heart after 17yrs of being told no by him. I wasn't ABOUT to let that happen. I grabbed my keys & darted to cookies to for you, with a 1 block loop, I was even able to snag a spot directly in front of the store. I went in, explained that I'm a terrible mother or maybe I have a terrible kid. Either way, I need to deliver birthday cookies/cupcakes/memories & be back at work in 87min. Without visible judgment passed & with a nod of understanding, I was presented 2 ready made options at $40ea. I went with the gold print 7 cookie + candy bouquet - (vs the multicolored print) to match the gold foil 3 & 0 balloons (the balloons were apparently NOT an approved item & did not pass the embarrassment test) that I stopped for en route & tied to the basket. Completed with 2 dozen (not pictured) cupcakes for the coworkers to enjoy along with him. Man, parenting is hard - but Cookies for You sure made it easy for me today! Whew...
