We are driving on hwy 2 crosscountry and wanted coffee, matcha, and a treat! We hit the jackpot finding Minot's Daily Bread. We had a flaky pastry with cheese and egg - excellent and not too heavy! We also had their last caramel cream filled crumpet - also excellent and it is filled so plan how you eat it. Everything else looked so good, including their bakery bread, that I wanted one of each but was pretty sure that would not have worked traveling. The place was nothing special (yet) but it was clean and had cute tables and chairs as well as counter seating for when it gets busier. It also had parking around the building AND a drive through window (for those familiar with the bakery choices or just wanting a beverage). I was not in on the initial encounter with the counter person but my husband wasn't thrilled with the interaction. Not sure which side of the counter the breakdown occurred but it is true that she didn't smile or seem to want to be there and was a bit curt when asked to warm our egg pastry. The manager stepped in immediately to make sure our pastry was warmed in an oven for a minute. (They, THANKFULLY don't use microwaves which was fine by me.) It was perfect. If ever I'm in Minot, I'll make a point of coming here with a much bigger appetite! read more

Something to note off the bat, everything here is scratch-made & fresh... yes, they run out of items & once they're out, they're out for the day. You absolutely cannot show up an hour before close and expect a full case, or even that day's lunch offer, (which I never order anyway.) Personally, I love that for 2 reasons: less food waste & it motivates you to get there before they run out. With that out of the way, on to the "good stuff" & I do mean that both literally & figuratively. I'll note they are listed as French pastries, this is important, as it sets an expectation comparatively to, say, the local donut shop/ the other "bread (pastry) shop" - &, they are very different styles, indeed. Humble brag moment, International traveler here & I've had the pleasure of some amazing pastries. These guys do fit the French-style that they're boasting about. They made a solid almond croissant & have some tasty savory rotations, as well as sweet. Their crepes are my favorite eat-out breakfast item in town. Wow I can't say enough. I did not expect to find such great French pastries in town. The croissants were outstanding, some of the best I have had. The raspberry danish also top notch. The OJ was also very good if a bit pricey but that's to be understood. I can't wait to come back and try a crepe. read more

Really wanted to LOVE this place but I have to say, the staff was so rude when we asked for our egg pastry warmed. I feel most people enjoy their pastries warmed, especially with an egg and ham on them but that seemed to be a big deal for them. INCREDIBLE pastries. I'm coming back tomorrow to try more. Today we had the strawberry cruffin, a croissant, and an almond croissant. All scrumptious. The flaky layers, perfectly crisp exterior, delectable fillings. SO, SO good. Our cappuccinos were also delicious. I especially loved all of the beautiful plants and natural sunlight inside. Wonderful pastries and food! My wife and I ordered the tuna sandwich and loved it. The bread was crunchy but not too ridged, the tuna salad was the perfect mixture of ingredients, and the combination of it all worked very well together. The only critique I have is they need to extend their hours. For anyone who lives outside the direct vicinity of Minot (i.e. the base, Glenburn, etc.) or possibly sleeps until eight or nine on their day off cannot possibly make it in time to enjoy this place. Minot's Daily Bread has some the most amazing breads and pastries in Minot. Forget about Panera -- this is the place to go. It's the only place in Minot that gets close to being comparable to an actual European bakery. Their baguettes and crusty breads are moist and airy with the perfect amount of crunch on the outside. When I eat their bread, I'm reminded of the quote from the movie Ratatouille: "How do you tell how good bread is without tasting it? Not the smell, not the look, but the sound." Every time I rip open a baguette, the sound makes me immediately start drooling. One of my other favorites from Minot's Daily Bread is the almond croissant. It's awesome! And you can't go wrong with their crepes. They sell a berry cheesecake crepe that actually has an entire slice of cheesecake wrapped in the middle. I was a little skeptical at first, but it was great!! The only thing they could improve on is filling their water container more often because it's usually empty when I go. read more

I get back to Minot to visit a couple times a year and I always enjoy a visit to Minot's Daily Bread. I'm a sucker for a good bakery and MDB makes breads and pastries in the French bakery tradition. The quality of all the food is excellent with a daily selection of breads, muffins, scones and pastries to choose from. They also have daily lunch offerings and a variety of made to order options. Quality bread! Amazing pastries and great coffee. They offer a number of sweeteners and mills for your coffee. Today I had the cold brew with lavender sweetener and a splash of oat milk, a hipster's dream come true. My oh my, what a delight! I initially stopped by with the hope of trying their tiramisu, however, they had unfortunately ran out. However, I was still intrigued by their pastries and was about to hit the road, so my partner and I decided to have an early lunch. We ordered a Roast Beef sandwich to share, and they made it right in front of us! It was absolutely delicious and the sandwich was full, they certainly did not skimp out on the meat. I loved it! As for the drinks, I ordered a hot lavender London Fog latte and my partner ordered a Caramel Hazelnut frappé. Both of the drinks were so creamy and perfect! They weren't too sweet, in fact, they were so comforting. We also decided to order a Caramel Cruffin to share and it is by far one of my favorite pastries EVER! Each layer of the cruffin was so buttery and flaky, however, the exterior of the cruffin had a nice and toasty bite! The caramel itself was whipped and wasn't too gooey or artificial tasting, this pastry was truly decadent and light, I was in Heaven. Their pastries are made by hand and the quality is truly reflected in every bite! Such a bummer I no longer live in Minot because I wish I could try every single flavor of their cruffins and try their tiramisu, but that's even more of a reason to come back! read more

My daughter's family loves this pastry shop ! So we visited with her family this past week ! We ordered 5 crepes and one sandwich. My savory crepe "the Parisian" was ham and cheese and eggs ! I'm extremely picky when it comes to baked goods, so I was thrilled to discover that this place has some of the best around! True, I've only tried two things on the menu so far, but the tiramisu was the best I've ever had and my husband got the peanut butter apple crepe and it was divine. I do think the crepe could have been a bit thinner, but I'm not complaining and neither was he! We also got a latte to share that was great too. The place was clean, the service fast, and the employee was super helpful. I guess my only negative comment is that the prices here are just very, very high. However, it seems you do get what you pay for. It's really nice to find a place in North Dakota that could really hold its own anywhere else, too. We will be back! read more

Athough what they do offer is excellent, there is not much variety as far as crepes go, but then again I've been to Crepes and Crepes in Denver where they have well over 200 - both Savory and Sweet, my favorite being the Eggs Benefict crepe. read more

Location is tough for parking, but worth the hassle for the delicious crepes and almond croissants. (My two favorite items.) They have both sweet and savory crepes. Be advised it's a small bakery so seating is limited. They have a counter that seats 4 or so and then maybe 5 tables seating 4-5 people at most. I usually pick up what I want. We are seriously so lucky to have a bakery this good in our little town. If you think I'm a snob and don't think there's a difference, just grab a Croissant from them and 'that' chain down Broadway. Then take a bite and taste the insane difference. Here's a hint: one is flaky and melts like butter in your mouth. Moving onto bread, I recently got a loaf of egg bread, called Challah - and having had (and made) a lot of Challah in my Jewish family I can say this was the best I've ever had. They must have top of the line ovens because I've never had such a thin, crisp, defined crust with soft pillowy insides.
