He is exceptionally, honest, kind and competent. He repaired the work of another company which had supposedly repaired my door 2 years earlier but installed the wrong springs. I liked him even more when I saw him pull up in a normal working truck with no logos vs. some $100K+ truck with company branding. If you are looking for a garage door service in the Santa Rosa and Sonoma area and have short listed the highest rated companies, I'd encourage you to make Lalo's your first or last call to compare estimates. I won't name names but the highest rated company with the most reviews (clearly pays Yelp) that I have used a few years ago in desperation and not having time to price shop did the work...but if the rate was the same as what I got an estimate for...the rate was 3x more expensive for the same work. $100K truck, more overhead for answering phones, employees...cost more but I'm not paying 3x more than I need to for no additional value. They were not any faster, using any better materials than Eduardo. They didn't even identify an obvious problem with the cable like he did. I just had Eduardo from Lalo's Garage Doors come to take a look at my malfunctioning garage door opener. He came out within an hour or so and thoroughly inspected every aspect of my opener and controls. He correctly diagnosed that my photo cells needed new wiring to the controller. He fixed it and had me test the garage button and the remote multiple times and all was working fine! He also saved me about $400, as I had first called Sonoma Overhead Doors (who had installed the unit some years ago) who said that I needed a new circuit board. Nope! Just fresh wires. 10/10 HIGHLY RECCOMEND! I tried replacing my weatherstripping myself on a big 13ft garage door. Ended up taking off the part that holds the tension on the bottom of the door and it damaged the door pretty good. I called one of the top rated companies on yelp and they came out and gave me a quote of $2800 to get it working again. Zero new parts besides an extra support beam, just to try and fix what I have. They wanted 2 technicians, a scissor lift ($450 extra), and a full day of work. I called Edwardo at Lalo's and he came out 20 min after we got off the phone ( this is around 4PM), Took a look, and said I'll be right back with a bigger ladder. He had the door working again by 7PM by himself. Charged me under $400 and that included the extra support beam. Not only that, but he also looked at my other two garage doors and adjusted the tension on those so they work better now for free. (The other company wanted to charge me $1500 each to put new openers on) I will be recommending him to anyone who needs garage door repair work with full confidence. After the pandemic, companies have been just throwing ridiculous numbers out there to see if people will pay them. (Recently had a 20k quote for tree work and got the same thing done for $6500) If you are looking for honest work, call this man immediately. read more
