I recommend Andrew Lam of Lam & Pitt, CPA and he is a very helpful service provider in the realm I would categorize as Finance and Accounting, assisting me in my IRS - Federal and State annual Tax filing. He's well versed in both business and personal tax filings. What I enjoy about Andrew Lam is he has a dynamic personality and is a pleasure to speak with and talk through certain questions easily. He's very easy to talk to and with. He's bilingual if not maybe even tri-lingual. I am monolingual, only speaking English, and his English communication skills are not to be questioned, in case you fear any disconnect with Asian service providers. He has full command of the English language and communicates very clearly. He's also proactive in making suggestions or recommendations too, which is always nice to have an educated and experienced service provider share strategy that can be beneficial who explains the pros and cons to some decision options. The location in the SGV (San Gabriel Valley) in Rosemead is convenient for locals and desirable or ideal for those traveling (I was willing to endure a 45 min drive that can take up to 1 hr+ if in LA traffic) to get to, for a few reasons. One, obviously is the fact that like a good doctor, dentist, hair-cuter, auto mechanic, or service provider you see infrequently but regularly who you need comfort and trust with, it's well worth partaking in the geographic journey to go to someone you connect with. In a world riddle with mediocrity and lackluster sub-par service providers, some who can even be considered scam-artists, once you find someone who treats you forthright, has fair rates and one you can trust whom you an build a loyalty based relationship with, it's well worth investing time and gas to get to. Andrew Lam is one of those people, and one whom I've touted his good name by referring peers to as well. Secondly, when you make an appointment, simply make a trip out of it as an excuse to visit the SGV and eat some delicious Chinese food, on par if not better than Chinatown (easier parking too!). The parking at Lam & Pitt is easy, they have a dedicated parking lot at their business, but even if that is full, the adjacent neighborhood residential streets provides easy convenient parking walking distance away. read more

I've been going to Andrew for 10 + years now and that says enough! Honest man and I definitely trust him and his work :)

I've been going to this location a long time. Maybe ten years. And my financial advisor caught a mistake on my tax return for the last three years. It's a loss of approximately $6000. Andrew Lam was suppose to do a tax amendment for all 3 years and we discussed this as far back as July 2021. Every time I contact him he just says no problem. But I never get a deadline date. He says we have plenty of time. But according to another tax guy, he said that's not the case. I have until February of 2022 and Andrew Lam hasn't even gotten started. And no contact. No updates. He's even charging me $500 even though it's his mistake. So it looks like I'll have to send the form myself. I even sent an email of what the mistakes were according to my financial advisor. I'm really disappointed because I've been a loyal customer for a long time. read more

If you need help with filing taxes, go here! They don't try to rip you off or overcharge and they are honest. I took my retired parents to file their taxes with Mr. Pitt (he's and older gentleman from Thailand) and we couldn't be happier. He knows what he's doing and has many years of experience with taxes. We used to file with H&R Block but my gosh it was such a ripoff. Lam & Pitt's prices are very reasonable - so much so that I couldn't believe my ears when it quoted us because the price he charged was like 6 or 7 times less than H&R Block. Just a comment following up on the one star vote from Tim T. A C.P.A. that is professional and ethical, will not adjust a client's information so that he or she may receive a higher tax return. The clear logical reason for why Mr. Lam told the client that he would be responsible if an audit were to occur, was due to the fact that the client repeatedly requested changes to his tax return in order to receive a larger sum of money from the government. If a client has the ethical capacity to understand that if you present your financial information accurately, and allow Andrew to perform his duties, there is no reason to worry about the possibility of an audit. If having peace of mind is what you are afraid of when filing your taxes, you will have much better success in consulting a CPA that is unethical and unprofessional. It is also extremely ignorant to suggest that you're chances of being audited will be much greater when the Accountant follows the rules, regulations, and standards set by the Financial Accounting Standards Board. read more
