My experience has been incredible. I mailed all of my documents and previous year's tax return to Michael. The next business day, he emailed with a few questions and within a couple of business days, our returns were completed - a Federal, two states, and a Schedule C. He noticed some omissions on last year's return by my previous tax professional, as well. In his summary email, he touched on every single item of concern that I asked about. We signed our returns electronically and paid via Zelle. So freakin' easy! His thoroughness, high level of communication, and vast tax knowledgeability are unmatched and we will continue to use him going forward. STEER CLEAR of this place - Michael, who answered the phone, sounded extremely defeated, annoyed, tired, less than enthusiastic, and absolutely, completely unmotivated to assist with answering basic questions re an initial appointment (not available until after May, which is fine for us), cost ($800 to turn in P&L's for our LLC, but not to actually categorize income or produce anything, yet, hadn't a clue of turnaround time once all documents are submitted), and when we asked what it covered, Michael was useless in providing an answer (he said he didn't know), nor provided any type of fee structure based upon the few & simple questions we asked re an LLC filing... had np idea of an ETA to even schedule an appointment to begin with - just kept saying he's "not touching that...", and that's fine - by all means, close your doors for business if necessary if you can't adequately handle the load, but, do everyone else a favor and don't answer your phone because that's just a waste of time for all parties involved. OUR SUGGESTION IS TO BYPASS EVER CALLING THIS PLACE. read more

Beware of this place. Because it is cheaper than other places, you will receive the least effort from them. There is no point of making an appointment because the conversation will only take 5 mins since your tax filing preparation won't happen the same day (like most places), but it will take weeks for them to complete it. You can't ask any questions with them because all answers they give are gonna be close-ended. They would promise a tax filing in 1-2 weeks during your visit, but will take longer. Not sure how this place got a high review, but I recommend going somewhere else to find someone who would give you better treatment and much more effort. read more

Please do not be fooled by these reviews, this guy Michael Aston has some serious anger issues, he insulted me with profanity just because I asked him a question that I had asked two years ago. He has made several mistakes on my tax returns such as posting my wrong address, not knowing the correct deductions for independent contractor, etc. I used his service because I felt it was cheaper than other tax places, but I also put up with a lot of his rude condescending behavior for several years. Micheal doesn't seem to know how to manage his stress, he seems emotionally unstable person who get triggered and reacts quickly, he gets rude and belligerent if you question his work. I am not an expert on taxes, but I doubt most people understand the tax laws either, that is why we go to an accountant and pay him for a service; so you also get to understand why somethings such as a "Donation to Goodwill" are not considered a tax right off?. I have asked Micheal twice in the last two years and even his replies change or are incoherent and if you ask any other questions then he explodes and insults you with profanity?. This is a fifty something year old guy married with kids, he can't even manage his temper. He went off on me on the phone with profanity and threats, then he blamed me for calling him in the busy tax season, just because I couldn't understand his reply by email, this is after I had already paid him and being a customer for several years? . Is this a way to behave to a customer? What is even more sick is that he was justifying insulting me, after he told me: "Go F*** myself", then he justifies it by saying: "I answered your question two years ago", as if I forget what he said two years gives him the right to insult me, when I was not even rude to him?. Nothing I said or asked warranted this kind of reaction and anger?! Believe me just because someone is cheap it does NOT mean they are good, I learned that hard way with this incompetent "Micheal Aston", don't make the same mistake. Now, I get why this guy was let go from H&R Block for a reason, I am going to report him to California Board of Accountancy, his behavior was way out of line. read more

If I could give 6 stars I would. I was trying to do my taxes myself through turbo tax and was getting multiple results and confusing advise from their online advisors. So I did a search for someone local and had some experience with multiple state returns and found Alhambra Tax Center. It was very easy to schedule an appointment online and there were plenty of appointments available that worked with my work schedule. I arrived and found the office clean and very COVID-19 safe. I met with Michael who was very welcoming and knowledgeable. He looked at all my documents and explained how he would file and his office procedure. I felt very comfortable having him handle my information and found his service rates very reasonable. Turnaround was about a week as he had estimated and everything was mailed to me in a nicely organized folder with vouchers and envelopes ready for me to send off. If you are looking for someone to take the pressure of doing your taxes and giving you some insight to how they will be filed I highly recommend Michael. read more

I walked in to drop off my grandmothers tax paperwork and had an unnecessary confrontation with the man who worked there. I was talking to an older woman, who've I met before and she's lovely, but this time before I could finish my sentence this man told me to stop talking because he was on the phone. He continued to cut me off and apologized he said sorry I thought you were just a delivery person, as if delivery people don't deserve respect. Anyways I walked away and I guess he read the words I was saying from the window to which he responded fuck you too. Now my family is never doing business here and I'm contemplating going back just so he can hear what I got to say. read more

I had the pleasure of dealing with Michael, the owner, who answered all my questions, filed swiftly and maintained communication with me the entire time. All this during quarantine near the peak. I dropped off my paperwork through the mail slot and the rest was handled via email, phone and snail mail. All painless. Mike makes sure your taxes are done properly, efficiently, and at a extremely reasonable price (if not the lowest price around). More importantly, Mike takes great pride in his work. Though I only do my taxes with Mike once a year, I sometimes call or text Mike to get advise on proposed transactions and purchases that may affect my taxes (like buying a new hybrid or electric car); Mike always freely and gladly responds to my inquiry without any hesitation. Pete is my go to guy to get my taxes completed on time, and efficiently. Only have to drop by to hand him my array of tax documents and receipts and then come back to pick up and sign the return.
