I've worked with Dorothea Williams from this company two separate times now, and she has been an amazing help to me. I'm 73 and was never good at math (I literally have a mental block about even trying to learn anything that has to do with numbers or money), plus I'm especially intimidated about Taxes and Annuities and IRAs and such. Somehow I have been given incorrect information that once I was living only on Social Security, I didn't have to pay taxes anymore, and when I found out that was incorrect, I freaked out because I hadn't filed a tax return the year before. Being new in town I had no idea where to turn because in my hometown my best friend had done my bookkeeping for me half of my life. I knew I couldn't afford an expensive accountant so I called the Kings County Commission on Aging to see if they could recommend someone to help me. They we're very helpful and connected me to Dorothea, who actually volunteers for them to help out senior citizens. When I called her, she was welcoming and friendly, and put me at ease instantly. Then she kindly and patiently guided me through the process and was able to help me get through it. She has also been very accommodating to my schedule, and has made every effort to help me to feel comfortable and relaxed (and not as dumb as I thought I was). Brian have been my tax accountant for the past 3 years. Compared to my previous tax accountant with Brian, he is phenomenon. He is brilliant, he is not lazy (like my previous accountant in LA who did not help me with my donations claims) and he always tries to help me maximize my tax refund. I know there is a lot of other tax accountants who overcharge people but Brian's service is really reasonable priced. Brian provides excellent customer service and he is just a call away when I need consultation over the phone (thinking about getting solar panels and needed to know if I would get federal tax refund). My whole family is going to Brian for his services and I send my friends to Brian to do their taxes since he is such a sweetheart! One thing I would recommend is to make an appointment with Brian during the tax season because he can get really busy with appointments and a lot of walks-in clients. Sometimes I feel bad because I got my whole family there and there's few customers waiting after us, but we made an appointment.. I took my mom here for notary. Brian (owner) is super nice. He gave us discount because we needed 2 notaries. Afterward, we talked about living trust because Brian also provide living trust service. Great service and friendly! He was the only notary place that I can find opened on Sunday and late into the afternoon. He didn't wants to take chances that the notarize stamp was going to be rejected because the space on the 3rd party company's form didn't have enough space so he got another form he has and add it to the document. Went to another place to do my taxes and felt like she rushed through it and did it wrong. Ended up having to pay which I have NEVER had to do so I felt like she must have missed something or entered something wrong. She didn't explain to me why or anything so I looked up another tax place to go to. I gave Brian a call and he told me I could come over right away. When I got there he looked over my taxes and double checked her work. He then informed me why I had to end up paying and let me know about the new tax law next year and even showed me on paper the new tax brackets. I'm outraged to have my taxes done by this guy. My uncle came to get his taxes done and he made lots of mistakes on the paperwork. He mixed up his social security numbers up and it has been over a month already and my uncle still hasn't gotten his refund yet. It was a lack of incompetent and irresponsibility on his part. How can you even screw something like that? He definitely needs to get his eyes check. Every time I called for my uncle he kept on saying it has been fixed, but he never fix it. I don't like when someone lie like that. I watched him punch in some numbers and he looked as though he didn't know what he was doing. Be careful people! You're better off going to another professional tax preparer or you can even do it yourself. Do it with him you will never get your refund back. I'm very upset with him for not taking responsibility for his action. Beware people! read more
