We started our search in May for a two-family home. We contacted Lamacchia Realty and they were super quick to respond. Being that we were first time home-buyers, the guy took the time to explain how things work in the real estate market, and said he'd set up a meeting with one of their agents (VINNY SCIFO) that very same day. We liked Vinny right away, BUT were not sure of how experienced he was... given his young age (under 30) haha. Well, boy...little did we know that Vinny would be our blessing! He's the most responsive realtor in the whole world - and I'm not exaggerating. He would respond to our endless questions and concerns 24/7. I'm telling you, that guy is the best agent out there! A little context here: After checking out lots and lots of properties, our offer for a two-family house was finally accepted...and you'd think that's all smooth sailing from there but NOOOOO! That's where the rigmarole started. Turned out there were too many complications between the sellers (2 sellers), and the worst part was their lawyer - a stubborn, litigation lawyer who had no clue of real-estate. Long story short, we went back and forth for 2 MONTHS...and if it wasn't for Vinny, we would have given up and backed out of the agreement 100 times. He kept us going, and "fighting" for us, keeping us informed every step of the way, texting us several times a day, touching base and giving us the latest updates on the progress. I have to mention that he was on vacation for 5 days, and EVEN THEN he kept reaching out to the sellers' attorney every day to make sure the process was not stalled and we were kept informed. We can not say enough good things about Vinny. He's a ROCK STAR!! He's professional, he's an amazing negotiator, super responsive, has his client's best interest at heart and will never give up on you. He'll go above and beyond just to make things happen. Even after we signed the P&S agreement (most of the realtors will then disappear as they don't really need to be involved in the rest of the process) but not Vinny...he even came with us to the closing just to be there for us. We can't say enough good things about him! We'd give him 10 stars out of 5 if we could. He's THE BEST and we highly recommend him to anyone who needs an agent THEY CAN TRUST! read more

If you are considering a short sale on your home, I highly recommend using McGeough Lamacchia. They have this process down to a science. Trust me, I tried using other realtors and attorneys with no success. My story: I had given up any hope of being able work anything out with Flagstar after a year of nothing but frustration and tears while trying to do everything they requested but getting nowhere. It was just by chance that I heard what they had done for a friend so I decided I had nothing else to lose and gave them a call. Right from the very first phone call, I started to regain some hope of being able to do a short sale on the home and salvage what is left of my credit. Everyone I worked with during this process was wonderful. It was such an amazing experience having so many people that were on my side, pushing to make sure this sale went through. Everytime I called with a question or sent an email, I always received a fast response and they always helped to put my frazzled nerves at ease. They have such an extraordinary staff, EVERYONE was great, I am so grateful to Anthony Lamacchia, Alex Montalto and Dave Karoly for getting this approved through Flagstar, no easy task, but Alex always kept me informed and calmed my fears when time was running out. Just when I thought we were all done fighting with banks, there was the ridiculous list of demands from our buyers bank, but June Schaufus was right there with me, helping me through the process and always keeping me updated. I would get emails from her at 9pm with updates or requests from the bank. She was truly dedicated to helping get this sale through. Angela Walker was also wonderful in answering every question I had about the process and very understanding about my worries but set me at ease each time. Now that this is all over, I feel like I can breathe again. I have finally moved on with my life and have started planning for my future. It felt like the end to this ordeal would never come, but thanks to McGeough Lamacchia it finally has. I will be forever grateful to them for this. read more

This review is for Matt Czepiel. I was brand new to Boston and didn't realize I was coming here soon after the "9/1" move in date. Between being new to the city, traveling a ton for work, and needing to find housing within 30 days, I was fairly stressed out. I happened to meet Matt through a Zillow listing for a rental. Within the first few minutes, it was easy to tell that, as much as Matt has a job to do, he cares much more about helping someone find a place that is a great fit and will meet their needs more than just getting a lease signed or a paycheck. I must have asked him a dozen questions, many of which were likely ridiculous or simply just about the city and adjusting here, and he answered every one of them with patience. From there, Matt helped streamline every step of the process between working with the landlords to getting the lease signed and making it convenient to get deposits in order. He even went the extra mile to re-show the property to my then potential and now current roommate because I had to be out of town for two weeks and was worried I wouldn't find a roommate in time. As a new person in the city, the experience with Matt made my impression of Boston all that more welcoming. Julie Gross was amazing!! Julie helped my husband and myself find our dream home and did everything in her power to help us get it. She was always on time for our appointments, was very knowledgeable about the area, and most importantly was so kind and pleasant to deal with. She went above and beyond her duty. I even recall her pushing her own plans with her family to the side on a Sunday night, so that she could help us finalize all of our paperwork to make our offer. My husband was actually working that night and she went to his work to bring papers that we needed to have signed. My wife and I weren't sure if we could do a short sale or not. We weren't behind on our payments and we liked our home. The only thing was that some major expenses were going to be coming up. Can't speak highly enough of Kristen Meleedy, strongly recommend working with her especially if you're a first-time home buyer. My recent house hunting experience was quite an adventure... yes it was fun, but it was also stressful and trying at times. It took me two years and many offers before I finally found "my house" and got my offer accepted in this sellers' market (where many of my competitors seemed to have cash for their purchases). But Chrissy was wonderful. She was a true professional; she was knowledgeable, calm (when I wasn't!) and extremely patient! I had a price range that fluctuated about $150K (due to the rising prices and my rising frustration) and a location range that was all over the map. I recently moved to MA from CA and trying to find a new home from 3,000 miles away was tough. I found an apartment listing online and clicked the link to "send me more information".
