Thomas is awesome have been getting work done for years just got 1 done yesterday my wifes son came down from Ohio twice to get sone ink

So not knowing the full process and how to go about getting a tattoo I called a tattoo shop. I have gotten a tattoo before same day. I've also gotten a tattoo same day for my son. I described my tattoo to a gentleman on the phone around my wrist lettering I explained that I wanted to add to the tattoo and possibly fill in the lettering and that I wanted to come in the same day rather than come in for a consultation. The gentleman was a very rude and ended the conversation with he's not interested. I feel like it was very unprofessional and very rude. Do not go to this place my opinion not every customer knows exactly how things should or should not be done but for you to just end the conversation is very very rude and unprofessional made me feel like not even wanting to get a tattoo thanks guy on the phone. When he said he wasn't interested when getting off the phone I asked what do you mean you're not interested in his response was I don't have to tell you I would not recommend this place and I didn't even so much just get through the front door. read more

Great studio, safe, secure, and FUN! The decor is the best. Bathrooms are fully equipped with anything a girl may need during epic ping appointments. Artists are professionals. Cash or Cash ap only, which was a tad awkward on a Sunday w/ their in-house ATM wanting a gazillion dollar fee for my down payment to "lock in" appointment. Plenty years of experience inside w/ plenty of parking outside. Not really ADA accessible on 2nd floor. read more

I took my daughter to get her 1st tattoo and of course I needed some ink therapy. Jo did my daughter's tattoo and Thomas did mine. They were very professional and made us feel very comfortable. We told them what we wanted and they did it exactly how we wanted. Prices were good and very clean. Even though we live in Norfolk we took the drive and we're very happy with the work. Being military it's hard to find a tattoo artist that takes the time and cares that your happy with the art. I have experienced some artist that all they care about is how much money they can suck from you and how fast they can get you out the door for the next customer! But not these guys!! Placement shape and shading were all horrible and Thomas couldn't be bothered to fix them. They are suppose to be 4 cohesive birds... instead it was 2 birds, a squid and a dolphin. He wanted me to pay him more money to fix it. Yea, no way! Proceed with caution. You never know what you're going to end up with and Thomas surely could give a fuck less if you are happy with the end product. I texted him directly as well as contacted the business page directly on Facebook with zero reply. Black & white he was shown and color is what I ended up with. He served alcohol in the studio, and conducted himself in a very inappropriate manner with female customers. read more

Whenever I look at getting a tattoo, I take my time to follow an artist. Before I got tattoo #9 I decided to follow LaMano Ink for over a year. He posts on both Instagram and Facebook and is very receptive to questions. I had my first session with Thomas yesterday and it went very well. The shop is very clean and inviting. When I arrived he already had some ideas and was very willing to listen to my thoughts and what I wanted vs what I did not. The environment around you while getting your tattoo is very relaxing as one tv had X-Files playing and the other tv shows various landscapes around the world that are colorful and relaxing to simply watch. Thomas was very accommodating to comfort and took appropriate breaks. He and his staff were friendly, and talked with me about whatever, but also respected when I had headphones on. I still have two sessions left for my lower leg sleeve and have already booked my next appointment. If you are looking for any type of tattoo you should stop by the shop and have a talk with Thomas. You will not regret the service you get from him, take your time, know what you want and have open communication. I recently walked into this establishment to obtain a quote for a tattoo that my daughter wants. The gentleman who greeted us, who I later found out is the owner, did not make a good impression at all. I first showed him a picture of the tattoo and he asked where she wants it placed. When I told him a small size behind her neck he immediately proceeded to tell us how that would not be an appealing area to get the tattoo. He went on to say that if she wears a dress with her hair up it would not look right. I had to remind him that we were there for a quote. He then started saying that due to her complexion, the colors (blue & red) will not show up. I am a dark skin woman and the tattoo that my daughter wants is a replica of one that I've had for about 20 yrs also behind my neck. Although the colors on my tattoo have faded throughout the years, as expected, they still show and lasted for many years before beginning to fade. I explained this to him while also showing him and clearly pointing out that my daughter is obviously lighter than me. He didn't even seem interested in me showing him my tattoo to prove that he is wrong. He went on to say that the appearance of the colors are based on how they're mixed by the artist. In addition to that he told me that a small detail of the tattoo has to be left completely out because the tattoo is too small. I do understand that the exact details could only be done if the tattoo is much bigger, however, I attempted to show him how that detail was improvised on my tattoo to avoid leaving out the detail completely. He still stated that it could not be done. At that point I said thanks and we left because he did a great job of letting us know that he would not be an artist that could properly execute the tattoo. That conversation with him shows his lack of confidence in his own ability to tattoo in general but also tattoo on a person that is not fair skin. In addition, his opinion on the location of the tattoo was completely unnecessary. Especially being that his entire neck was covered with tattoos and he had multiple piercings on his face. Definitely not a person who's opinion I would be interested in hearing about what looks appealing and what doesn't. I will never walk into this establishment again and definitely wouldn't recommend anyone of a darker complexion to allow him to tattoo their skin. read more

Thomas is just awesome. Ive gone to him for 5 tattoos now and the last one he did is incredible. Took a black water color horse and did what I didn't think he could do! My son is the year of the horse so I wanted this one picture that seemed difficult, but Thomas turned it into art. He's incredibly patient and detailed and wants to make it as perfect as possible. He is the only person I would ever consider going to for ink. I have a couple more ideas floating and I will always go back to Thomas. read more

I'm doing this under my girlfriends yelp. My name is Zack, I got my first tattoo from Thomas in 2012 on my left arm and it still looks brand spanking new. This guy did such a great job that when he went to another studio I tracked him down to do the rest of my tattoos and I refuse to go anywhere else. Thomas makes you feel right at home when you enter his shop. He's proud to be a business owner and he takes pride in his work! He is fair about pricing and is willing to work with you about ideas which is the best part. I would come in with ideas and he would make them better. I trusted him to do both of my sleeves. He has done multiple cover ups for me from work I got done years ago and now you can't tell I had a cover up. I recommend him highly as an artist I can not stress this enough. You can go to other shops in the area and they will charge more than what Thomas is charging for art work that can't hold a candle to him.
