She is super personable to talk to - that my session went by pretty quickly - and so skilled at what she does. I sent over two inspo pictures and she got the design just right with the font, spacing and even delicateness of the letters! I absolutely love it. I normally get skin hives from environmental stressors but my tattoo was only slightly red immediately after and not hiving at all in the recovery. It is healing really well, too. I came to Wicked Goddess after my 9 year old daughter told me she was ready to get her ears pierced. alright, easy enough. I knew I wasn't going to take her to Claire's & I was worried about piercing her ears while they would still be growing. in comes Rachel, who came highly recommend on the Google and reddit. I booked the appointment for the end of November for Rachel since I figured this would give my daughter enough time to back out if she changed her mind. she did not. so the day after Thanksgiving, we went over to Mosaic to get her ears pierced. they let her pick out her earrings first and were so great. they let her hold the earrings up to her ear to give her a visual and gave her plenty of time to pick. Rachel sanitized everything and took her into the piercing room once she was ready. Rachel marked her ears a little higher up so when she grows, it'll be more centered as she got older. then came the first piercing, which my sensitive soul daughter took very personally. she refused to get her second ear pierced claiming she couldn't go through with it. with Rachel, my SIL, my husband and I trying to provide positive encouragement to continue on. Rachel ended up giving her the option to go grab some lunch to relax after the first piercing and to come back after. after our ramen lunch, we went back to get her second piercing. obviously it wasn't an easy task getting her to go through with it. I ended up having her sit down on my lap with Katseye playing just so Rachel could finish it. so to the amazing Rachel (who just came back from maternity leave!!), thank you! my daughter loves her piercings now and can't/won't stop looking at them. Rachel honestly has the patience of a saint even after my kid screamed bloody murder in her piercing room. if you're looking for a fantastic piercer for your child, I'd go to Rachel. she's a mother herself and understands children. she's soft spoken and really strives to make sure your child is comfortable and ready. not related, but there's free parking in the garage across the street. don't be an idiot like me who paid for parking in front.

I did so much research before booking an appointment with Jen because I specifically wanted to get my nipples pierced. I wanted to go to someone with experience and all the reviews online pointed to Jen! getting an appointment was not difficult, you can book online. paperwork must be completed prior to your appointment. when you first arrive, you need to text the number on the door before they let you in. once you are inside, they'll confirm your piercing of choice with you and then Jen pops out of nowhere and takes you into a room! she let me start off with any questions I had and boy, did I have a lot. I had gone down an internet rabbit hole and I knew I needed to speak to an actual professional before the piercing. Jen is a saint with the patience of an angel. she showed me a few photos and helped me figure out if I wanted a vertical or horizontal nipple piercing. she will make sure everything is consensual prior to doing it. I got to pick out my jewelry prior to the piercing and she sanitized the jewelry in the room. now, I knew I went with the right piercer when Jen took her sweet, sweet time marking my nipples. not only did she take her time, she made sure it was even and looked good. I was so impressed with her ability to eyeball a nipple and to get it centered. Jen will mark your nipples a few dozen times, but you want that because the last thing you want is a freaking lopsided piercing so trust the process! when we started the actual process of piercing, she went through how she was going to pierce it and had me take a deep breath to help with the nerves. a nipple piercing seriously hits a little differently than a piercing on your ear. the pain didn't last very long and Jen asked if I needed additional time before piercing my other nipple....which I declined because I really just wanted it done after the piercings, she had me lay there for a bit before sitting up. I know getting up too fast can make some people light headed especially after a piercing and she explained, it can happen especially when the blood flow is redirected after a procedure like so. she went over healing, what to do and what not to do after the piercing and cleaning with me. all in all, Brilliance Piercing is highly recommended. I truly can't thank Jen enough for dealing with my hundreds of questions, making sure my piercings would look good, making sure I was comfortable every step of the way and most of all for just being one of the best professional piercers I have ever encountered. if you're interested in piercing your body in anyway, I cannot recommend Jen enough. she only works two days a week now so for me to snag a 4:50 PM appointment on a Thursday with her was a blessing. also big shout out to Keightley and Elizabeth for their fantastic customer service. they answered all my questions and were super patient with me as well!

Be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars once you factor in the premium jewelry they require you to purchase. Their piercing appointments are scheduled for an hour, yet the actual piercing only takes about 5-10 minutes. A significant portion of the appointment is spent discussing and selling jewelry. The real problem came with the follow-up downsizing appointment. After they emailed me to schedule it, the earliest availability was about a month out. As a new mom coordinating childcare for a baby and making a 40-minute drive through NoVA traffic is not easy. The downsizing appointment itself is only scheduled for 20 minutes, which made what happened next even more frustrating. Unfortunately, there was a lot of traffic on a Saturday and I arrived 12 minutes late. When I got there, a front desk lady met me at the door and refused to let me in. My appointment was canceled on the spot because I hadn't called or texted to say I was running late. I was driving and not checking my phone, which apparently didn't matter. There was no flexibility, no understanding, and no sympathy whatsoever for any circumstances. I was told another client was waiting in their car. So after waiting a month for an appointment, arranging my schedule around a baby, and driving 40 minutes, I left without receiving any service at all. Their policies may be their policies, but customer service matters too. The experience felt cold, inflexible, and completely dismissive. Given how much time is built into their appointments and how heavily they emphasize jewelry sales, I was surprised there was absolutely no flexibility for a customer who was a little late due to traffic. There are plenty of piercing studios out there, and after this experience, I would absolutely not waste time here. The prices are already high, and the lack of consideration for customers and new moms made me feel like a lesser person.

Of course, once her ears were pierced, she cried a bit because of the pain, but then we found out they had pierced the wrong earrings. The staff member said, "I grabbed the wrong one," and explained that switching them right away or re-piercing would hurt. While the staff was very apologetic and did give us a gift certificate for the correct earrings to replace within 6 weeks, it still did not make up for how traumatic the experience was for my daughter. I really feel the staff should have confirmed with us one last time which earrings were being used before piercing her ears. Now my daughter is stuck wearing earrings she does not even like, and I honestly do not know how I am going to convince her to come back in 6 weeks after such a bad experience. We have used Upper Lobe in the past and never had an issue. I wish we had used their services again instead of trying Rowan. Unfortunately, this was not a good first experience for my family.

They also told me I could go in the ocean and pool but to avoid lakes and rivers. Also wrong. I should avoid any type of open water. They gave me a bag with aftercare info and aftercare solution. They didn't ever tell me they were charging me $20 for the aftercare solution. Over priced. Not friendly staff. I honestly think you're better off at Claire's. This is after 2 weeks of piercing. I was so cautious and careful with keeping area clean and not touching. Just left urgent care and am on antibiotics to treat. I should charge the store for my copay and medication. Stay. Away.

I had a very personal tattoo that I had wanted done for quite a while as a part of a healing journey I was coming through so I booked an appointment with Mike Miller at the shop. The shop was very comfortable as far as the atmosphere and the staff was awesome. Mike did my tattoo which was a spine tattoo and it turned out so beautiful I couldn't be happier! Additionally, conversation and the overall experience during the time I was there was comfortable, easy and very welcoming. Since my first tattoo there, I have returned three additional times to have tattoos done that I had set aside until I found a tattoo artist that I really liked; Mike Miller is that artist. Because of the tattoos I have received from Mike Miller at Devine Line Tattoos and the many compliments on the work he's done, one of my other daughters has now scheduled an appointment to see Mike and complete some artwork she has wanted done for a while as well.
