I stopped in to grab donuts for my office because it was conveniently located on my way to work. The service was decent no complaints but a dozen was $40.00 and the donuts were absolute trash. I asked the guy to just give me a mixed dozen and I'm assuming he gave me the least favorite donuts that he couldn't get rid of. I will admit that I should have picked them out instead of trusting him but when I got to my office I opened the box and the donuts looked bad and tasted bad. How Lamar's is still in business selling bad donuts for an outrageous amount is beyond me. Sorry Lamar's I hope that you can get better quality at a better price. read more

I stopped by this location on National Donut Day and it was such a treat! I took home the chocolate long John donut and the chocolate iced donut + a free glazed donut they were giving out as a promotion for the donut holiday. The iced latte was surprisingly good - loved that they have coffee options! The service was friendly and super quick. This is definitely more of a buy and take your food and drink to go location. I went this morning and ordered part of what I wanted. I tried to order a coffee, but the guy rushed me and rang me up before I could even ask. He clearly didn't want to make it or serve me. This is the second time I've dealt with his poor ass service. The two people in front of me were treated well and he even had short conversations with them. I know exactly what it is but I'm not going to say that here. What I will say is if you're going to be at the register, treat everybody the fucking same. I went in this morning for my birthday to bring donuts into the office. I asked for a half dozen glazed and a half dozen of mixed donuts. The guy who was helping me was super sweet, very talkative, and kind. I asked him if there were any birthday discounts, and he said no, but he would give me the senior discount! Then, he said I could pick out a donut of any kind for free for my birthday! And inside that bag, he threw in a couple of extra donut holes. Additionally, he threw 8 glazed in the box instead of 6 and said 'close enough'. I ended up getting all of that for $25! This was truly the best service I have ever received, and it honestly made me so happy knowing that kindness still exists in the world. My husband and I had gone to a different LaMar's location awhile ago and the girl was super rude the whole time, so this was such a nice changeup. Thank you for making my morning so wonderful on my birthday! I moved away from home just about a year ago, so I don't have any family to celebrate my birthday with. Just the way this guy treated me made my whole day! There was only one gal in front of me, and he worked quickly, so I didn't have to wait long either. I went to the Overland Park location on Sunday, December 15 around 8:00 a.m. to buy a couple of dozen donuts. There were several customers ahead of and behind me. There were two employees in the store (male and female). I observed the following while standing in line: Both of them were filling customer's orders and then running the cash register for the respective customer they waited on. The male employee wore no gloves when handling the cash/cards or filling the orders, but he at least used a tissue wrapper to handle the donuts although he placed his hands in the bags and boxes that held the donuts in order to open the bags/boxes up as they are stored flat. So, his filthy hands contaminated the inside of the donut bags and boxes and he also placed the tissue wrapper inside the bag or box. The female employee wore gloves. However, it was the same pair of clear gloves when cashing people out after filling their orders. Even worse, she did NOT use a tissue wrapper and just picked up the donuts with the same gloves and placed them in bags or boxes. She would take the payment from the customer and then serve the next customer. She never changed her gloves during the entire time I observed her. It was disgusting considering she was handling paper money, coins and credit/debit cards and then filling the orders by picking up the donuts from the trays with the same gloves and placing them into the bags/boxes. Other customers noticed it too. Why isn't one employee handling the transactions and another employee just filling the orders? If that isn't possible, then the employees should put on a new pair of gloves after handling the transaction which is standard practice at places like Subway. This practice is unsanitary, unprofessional, unappetizing, and unacceptable. I was going to mention it to these two employees, but it was crowded and I just walked out and went to Dunkin' because they were busy and I was pressed for time and disgusted over the incident. I've been coming to LaMar's donut shops around Kansas City for decades and have never seen this happen before so I'm hoping it was not standard practice at this location. I don't know if either one of the employees was a manager or team leader (I hope not), but this begs the question: Have these employees ever been properly trained on proper food handling per Health Department regulations? I will give them another chance because LaMar's has good donuts, but this lack of proper food safety hygiene is potentially dangerous to customers. The following day, I contacted the corporate office to report this activity and the person at corporate that I spoke with, Josh, was professional and very receptive to the complaint and thanked me for bringing the problem to his attention and stated it was "completely unacceptable" and that since this location was a corporate store he would make sure the problem was "remedied." I like LaMar's and will give this location another chance hoping the situation was remedied as promised by the corporate office. If it happens again, though, I will report it to the Health Department. UPDATE: On January 5, 2025, around 10:00 a.m., my wife and I visited this same LaMars location. There were three employees present (two females and one male). All three were wearing gloves. All three filled customer's orders and conducted the respective customer's transaction. One female employee named, Charity, who waited on us, put on a new pair of gloves following the transaction and before waiting on the next customer. Perfect! The other two employees never changed their gloves and continued filling new customers' orders after handling the cash and debit cards of the previous customers. They should be following Charity's example, but oddly they were not. Unfortunately, the problem has not been remedied by the corporate office. read more

LaMar's is always our go to for donuts at work. I ordered this box specifically for a coworkers birthday and she is allergic to red dye. They did a great job making sure that none of the donuts in this box contained it. My usual go-to is the maple bar, but this time I tried the apple spice cake donut and was blown away. I have visited the college boulevard location twice (each time I had my 3 year old daughter with me), I had the same man help both times. Both times I have been there, the man was more interested in talking to and staring at my 3 year old daughter than he was talking to me, the paying customer. I had to repeat my order today because he could only think about staring at and talking to my daughter (who is extremely shy and barely talked to him). Apparently this Lamars is a mecha for the south OP anti-mask crowd. Sign says in small print "masks encouraged" and in bigger print "Not Mandatory"! Staff not masked. Breathing all over donuts. Line full of people who seem very pro-donut and very anti-mask, including a man coughing and sneezing and mouth-breathing his way into the lobby where no crowd limit was in place.
