If ya know, ya know. Gelato is ice cream's older brother, maybe a little more accomplished and refined, appeals to the ladies, and generally just does most everything with that extra panache. The flavors are sharper & the milkfat is lower and it's a rather fantastic experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lamonte shares space in the historic Sacred Heart Hospital building and there is ample space in or out at which you can enjoy your treats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This small business has won 'Best on the Coast' awards and you can absolutely see why! Gelato is almost fluffy, it seems creamier without the cream, and the combinations can seem endless. They even have a variety that is Olive Oil & Fig, which was sampled by a member of our party and deemed fantastic. Our shared cup of Salted Caramel & Double Chocolate did not last long, and when served with a waffle cone wafer, it made for the perfect union. A small cup, in which you can mix up to two flavors, runs you $5.50, and the larger cup will run you $6.50, making it super-affordable for this artisanal approach to a wonderful delight. Lamonte even puts together a fabulous coffee/drink menu, so there is just about something for any time of day. Pro tip: try an Affogato, a delight of espresso over vanilla gelato. The staff is friendly and certainly willing to suggest something for gelato rookies, and you can see why this brand is exceptionally proud of its product.

Easily one of the best gelato places I've been to in the states. Every flavour I had was delicious, plus the scoops were quite large. And every time I've been, they've been super nice and polite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop itself is perfect. Plenty of seating and has a welcoming classy no frills vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will always hit this place up when in Pcola.

Was AMAZING gelato!! We all loved what we got and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the inside was so cute as well![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The server was so sweet and let us try quite a few flavors! Definitely come here if in Pensacola!

The gelato was very creamy and rich. You get quite a bit for a good price. The line to wait was quite long but worth it.

We noticed this cute little shop when we went out to eat at the Burrow. So glad we brought the kids back to try it out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is in an old hospital building with beautiful architecture.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is decorated so cute and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were absolutely amazing and knowledgeable and let us try samples. I had the Belgium chocolate and pistachio- both with amazing flavor- the pistachio was spot on. My kids had mint chocolate chip and Bischoff cookie butter and both loved it. My husband tried a few sorbets and thought they were great. The waffle cookie on top was so crunchy and good! We will definitely be back.

I love this gelato/coffee shop! The gelato is very creamy and the espresso was amazing!! I sampled multiple flavors and I liked the salted caramel the most! Located in the old Sacred Heart Hospital! Definitely worth going to! Prices were cheap!! Probably one of the better ice cream places in town!

The Ice cream was the bomb! Service was great and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere cozy![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I really can't say anything but it's a great little ice cream shop with a great product. If ever in East Hill on a date night and looking for a great way to end the evening this is it!

How lucky are the citizens of Pensacola...the only real gelato I have had in the US. Amazing...better than a lot of the gelato in Italy. The Florentine cream is so beautifully balanced and perfect. The pistachio a real symphony. Homemade cones that border on stroopwaffles. I thought that some serious culinary genius was at hand and read later it is owned by a sommelier and a Michelin chef. It all makes sense now. The panini's are amazing as well. Thank you for creating such delicious beauty!

My favorite Gelato that I've ever had! They have many different flavors for whatever you're craving, and they always keep you coming back with new seasonal flavors. The gelato here always has perfectly balanced flavors and that smooth, creamy texture that you like for. The staff is always very kind and provides service with a smile every time and they also give out free samples if you want to try the flavors. It's located in an old hospital building right next to A Mano Panino, which is the best sandwich shop in all of Pensacola! I'm addicted.

Hidden gem! The prices of their coffee are the best in town. I really appreciated this! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is decorated so nice[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the ladies working were absolutely lovely. There was a decent sized line for gelato when we arrived and they didn't make us feel rushed. You have to check this place out! We rode our bikes from our air bnb down the street. & There's multiple restaurants and cool spots attached to this historical building. Such a great find!!

Yum! Pretty good gelato, but what I really love was the set up of Lamonte. It's in a very unassuming building through a tiny doorway, but is decorated beautifully! The best part was the sweet wafer cone they put on top. Delicious to scoop the gelato with! I will probably get a cone vs. a cup next time so I can get more of that wafer. I would love to come back and try the coffee (they had a HUGE coffee menu / selection) and sandwich. It's definitely worth a try if you're nearby.

Over the years we have seen a steady decline in the upkeep of the restaurant, the service staff checking on customers and the food quality. The one item that has gone up exponentially is the cost of everything on the menu. We have continued to spend money here out of some false sense of nostalgia in hopes to see this place rebound. The picture I have included is a broken dish our food was served in. Luckily it was noticed before anyone in our party cut their hands on the protruding shards. The only reason I am giving this review 3 stars is because the live music performance by The Heat at the time we stopped in kept us there. I highly recommend looking them up and planning a night out to see them.

I selected the strawberry salad which was also terrific. Our family loved this place. For dessert, they had a dozen plus flavors of gelatos and pastries. We also tried their cannolis. There was one chocolate dipped cannoli left and I fully believe no cannoli should be left alone. If you've never had a chocolate dipped cannoli in your life, you'll experience the same life changed moment I went through after taking my first bite. If you're in Foley or nearby, this is the place to eat at if you're in the mood for Italian food. It was worth every penny we spent.

Rolled up here for a dessert after a long day of conference-ing. I'd had this spot bookmarked for…read morea while and I was excited to try it. It's in a small shopping center that has lots of dining/dessert options. I only managed to make it about 45 minutes before close, so parking was easy and it wasn't busy. It smelled nice inside and looked clean. They offer a lot of different gelato desserts; the main draw I think is the twister cone, which is a baked cone that seems to be a donut-like pastry. This looked really good, but I was still too full from dinner to want anything quite that large. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. Two employees were there; one was a friendly young man who was clearly new as the other employee was teaching him how to ring up orders; the other was a surly older woman who seemed annoyed that I'd stopped in. I'm somewhat sympathetic since I did come in a little close to COB, but I don't think ~45 minutes is too unreasonable. I asked if they could make one of their signature cones in a cup instead and they agreed. I got the tiramisu variety, which is tiramisu and coffee gelato with coffee syrup and a ladyfinger. It was made in a reasonable time and I was rung up and headed out to my car to bring it back to eat at my hotel. The price was a little high but the portion was absolutely massive. You could easily split this treat. I certainly was unable to finish it. Overall, I thought it was only okay. The texture of the gelato was lovely, but the flavors were just kind of muted. I thought it should've been a bit sweeter, but not because the coffee was too strong; indeed, the coffee flavor was also just sort of light and unobtrusive. The syrup had an artificial taste that I wasn't crazy about and I was relieved when I'd eaten down past it to just spoonfuls of gelato. Lastly, the ladyfinger was sadly very stale, and even an attempt at ice cream rehydration didn't help it much. If I were to return, I'd definitely try one of the twister cones and would probably opt for a different flavor. Curiosity sated, for now!
