We were attending a kite festival at the Fort Walton Boardwalk, and after seeing some really cool kites, my husband and I decided to take a walk on the pier. On the way, is when we stumbled upon Pino Gelato. We decided that we would stop by on our way back. It is a little place located in a corner, and can be difficult find. It was a hot day, so I decided to go all out. I ordered two scoops of their Cookie Crumble gelato in a chocolate dipped waffle cone. It was delicious!! Also, if you are looking for something else, they also have espresso drinks, a muffaletta, a Cubano sandwich, pizza and salads. They even had something called an Affogato which is espresso poured over gelato. If you are at the boardwalk, definitely stop by! read more

Along the boardwalk, there's a little gelato spot that we came specifically for because of the heat. While it was refreshing, and we got to try a few flavors... I found the customer service here a little lacking and unfriendly. It does seem like it's hit or miss and entirely dependent on who is here at the time. We were around for lunch and stopped by, and it wasn't busy at all. Just my group. I did like the sorbet I got and the gelato I tried (tiramisu), but I would think twice before stopping by again unless the heat is really getting to me. Every time we go to Destin, we go here. We love this place & have been many times but my cell data never works near there so I always forget to post a review! This time, I remembered! We came on a Friday evening and they're open for dine in/take out. No samples though We got biscotti which is not biscoff turns out .. those are different cookies but still super good and the nutella in a cup! ~$5 biscotti was the winner between the 2 for me. In such a touristy little part of Fort Walton Beach/Destin, Pino Gelato was a refreshing surprise. However, the wait was INSANE. They need to hire one person to run the gelato area and one person to run the pizza station. No doubt about that. And yes, they serve fresh pizza here. The wait was CRAZY. I honestly don't know why we ended up waiting for so long... When I finally got to the front of the line, I'd had plenty of time to decide on my order. I ordered the coffee (of course) with salted caramel, which were both standard but tasty. It was probably way too much gelato for one person after a huge dinner, but it was worth every lick! Dreadlock, red hair girl working here is AMAZING. Accommodating, offered suggestions, super friendly. Second day experience was not the same and is why 3 stars. Google says opens at 10. Arrived at 10:30, not open. Yelp says 11, ok we'll wait. Girl shows up after 11, gives me side eye and walks in. Sees us waiting. Nothing. No words. No smile. 15 min later (knowing we're outside!) she sticks her head out and says "we don't open until noon so you'll be waiting awhile" and not very nicely. Her whole demeanor was not nice, at all. I have been to Italy! And I am a native Los Angeles Californian, better known as from Hollyweird lol. Once I had experienced gelato in Italy, I started really seeking out the best gelato in LA. Nothing is nearly as good as from Italy. No comparison. When I was on my stay in Fort Walton, I saw Pino Gelato and really wanted to go. So once I tried the Limoncello, I was blown away. Great location! Right next to the beach on the boardwalk. The place is pretty dark inside. Idk if it's because they just opened or what. They also serve food here like hot dogs, etc. The flavors they have are very versatile. If you want something sweet or refreshing, they've got you covered! The service is terrible there is one person working at one time doing pizza and ice cream. Its very unorganized as well because you cant tell who's pizza is who's and someone else took OUR pizza. Plus each pizza takes 15 minutes so we waited 45 minutes for 2 pizzas. For this kind of service there is better places in the area and i don't recommend coming here especially if your trying to get pizza. read more

I have no complaints about this place. The location on the boardwalk at the beach is great. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the server. She was friendly and allowed us to taste test different flavors before we made a decision. I settled on the Caramel Cookie Crunch and have zero regrets about it. It was the best gelato I've ever had and I enjoyed it from beach side seating. Went in at around 8 on the 16th of August and asked the man behind the counter if he recommended the gelato shake or the sorbet smoothie and he told me he'd rather prefer me order something small and simple so I just ordered a small cup of strawberry cause I was so appalled by his reply. arrived here at 915pm the doors were open upon entering i noticed only three flavors were out to choose from i said to my children hmm that's odd and josh stated yea that's because were closed i then said yelp has the hours listed open till 10pm he then rudely said no that's impossible i then opened my yelp app and showed him and he rudely said well we're closed i said well the door is open and the lights are on so obviously your business is still open and i proceeded to place my order with the polite gentleman who served the gelato and he even apologized in behalf of josh's behavior. what a horrible way of providing customer service and i was informed by the gentleman who serviced us that josh is the "manager" of this establishment. definitely ruined what was supposed to be a nice night out for my family. Most people like Dippin' Dots, Snoballs and slushies when they go to the beach. My daughter and I LOVE to stop in here every time we go to Ft. Walton/Okaloosa Island. It has become a tradition. The tables outside on the deck make it an ideal spot there in the middle of everything. Yes, I will visit again and recommend (even if you haven't already tried Gelato) going here. My favorite dessert place in Destin! We were all here on vacation, and we saw this cute little gelato shop and just had to stop by! They have so many yummy flavors, but the tiramisu and pistachio were my favorites. I miss having great gelato when I was in Europe, and this reminded me of it. I never had a decent one in Atlanta, but this was pretty satisfying. Just come in, grab a gelato, ask for samples to try the flavors, and walk on the boardwalk.
