I also had to add my own cream, which made it seem like hot coffee might be more their specialty. The food itself was solid, though a bit on the pricey side. The scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast were decent. The poached egg with salmon on grilled eggplant and arugula was tasty, and the home fries were a standout--unexpectedly excellent. Service was attentive and kind throughout, which I appreciated. However, the wait time after ordering was noticeably long, and there was a 3% convenience charge for using a debit card, which was noted on the receipt. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of what I expected from a Hilton property. Several days before my stay, I contacted the hotel to ask about birthday amenities or anything I could pay to have arranged in the room. I was told they would speak with a manager, but no one ever followed up. I also requested the highest floor available and was told the 6th floor was the highest I could go. I arrived at 3:45 p.m. for a 4:00 p.m. check-in, but my room wasn't ready until approximately 4:20. I do want to recognize the front-desk attendant, who repeatedly checked with housekeeping and seemed genuinely concerned about getting me into my room. The Gulf view from the room was incredible and easily the highlight of my stay. Unfortunately, the room itself showed signs of poorly finished repairs, including patched/painted areas above the bathtub and on the ceiling. Even more concerning, old food was sitting on furniture in the hallway near the elevator for more than 24 hours during my stay. Another guest commented that it had actually been there all week. While I can't verify how long it was there before I arrived, I can confirm it remained there for over a full day while I was there. I also paid for valet parking, but my vehicle was never ready when requested, even when I texted ahead as instructed. There was frequently no one at the valet desk, so I still had to wait to retrieve my vehicle. I would not have paid for valet had I known it would be this inconvenient. Finally, I confirmed a noon late checkout with the front desk, yet housekeeping woke me at 11:00 a.m. saying they were waiting to clean my room. At approximately 11:40, I opened my door and found housekeeping waiting outside for me to leave. I had no intention of staying beyond noon, but it made me feel rushed and unwelcome at the end of what was supposed to be a relaxing birthday stay. The beautiful Gulf view and helpful front-desk attendant were positives, but the delayed check-in, room condition, hallway cleanliness, valet service, lack of follow-through, and handling of my confirmed late checkout made this a disappointing birthday experience. I hope management takes these concerns seriously. I would appreciate hearing from them regarding an appropriate resolution and an opportunity to experience the level of hospitality I originally expected from Hilton Pensacola Beach.

We order two mixed drinks from the bar, even though waiting in line at the bar was just as much a wait for a table at times... my wife notices a gentleman down at the end of the bar and he's eyeballing or making her feel slightly uncomfortable... and as we wait for our drinks to be made, which took an unusually long time as they were sitting at the end of the bar at the bartender tried to feel five and six hours at a time, which in itself is not in common either... so I finally get the drinks and I noticed one has a cherry and one doesn't. No big deal, I like cherries, so I took the one with the Cherry and gave my wife the one without the cherry on top. mine tastes, great, hers. She begins to complain is so very bitter and strong, and she's like "taste this and how strong it is." So, I taste hers and it has a slight bitter bite, and much stronger than mine, so I mix our drinks together to dilute hers and about that time... My wife says to me,"I'm gonna move next to you and get closer..." so, I scooted her chair over next to me, she sits in the chair, we get very close, and as I'm going in for a nice fat tongue kiss, she becomes very pliable in her sitting posture and begins to slide in her chair toward the floor as she was telling me something's not right... long story short she said we both felt the need to exit, so I put her arm around my shoulder and supported the rest of her body with my hips, and began to walk her out of the restaurant... no one would've ever known to the extent she was beginning to become paralyzed as it was all sitting in as we were walking out of the restaurant and headed back across the street to our accommodations. We barely made it to the truck... I was praying she maintained some sort of ability to be able to keep her feet to some degree. And as she began to tell me more her mouth and bottom lip begin to slur her speech, began to become very slurred and by the grace of God, and by the time we got her to our bed in the condo she couldn't move anything on her body except her lips. She was completely paralyzed.. . She was completely incapacitated and all because I drink the drink with the cherry... so I can only guess or surmise that the plan was to incapacitate me so that someone could get their hands on her while I was incapacitated, had I drank the drink that had no cherry on top! What a ride!
