Very disappointed , I had heard about this business from other people. so I contacted them they told me to contact the shelter in Copperas Cove. Laura (with the gravel sounding voice)seemed confused and repeating herself and changed her mind about location and availability of personal to assist me . A different person showed up at my house who wasn't the person that they told me that was coming. My dog was in severe distress and pain. and the helper that was supposed put my baby in my car dropped my dog! and then put him in the back of my vehicle. We finally made to the appointment at the copperas cove animal hospital who treated us with care, and understanding and compassion. I CANNOT RECOMMEND PAWS IN PARADISE TO ANYONE THAT HAS A PET that needs euthanasia. read more

On October 1st, I made the heart wrenching decision to help my 17-year old cat, Bella, cross the rainbow bridge. I called Paws in Paradise, hoping I could have a vet come to my home, but unfortunately the vet was booked until the 9th. I took Bella to my vet and then brought her home. Paws in Paradise sent someone to my house to pick her up. He brought out a basket, in which I placed her, wrapped in her blanket. I was sobbing uncontrollably and he gave me a hug. They seemed... disorganized. My beloved Great Dane passed away suddenly 11-7-25 at 5:30am. Around 7:30am, I was finally able to compose myself somewhat, and called Paws In Paradise. They take calls 24/7, but the person taking the calls mentioned several times that I woke them up. When they asked his weight, and I said 200lbs., they said, "Oh no honey, they don't weigh that much". They asked again, same answer. Then asked, "OK, how much did he weigh at his last vet appointment?" My dog weighed 200 lbs. Then, "OK, we'll put 200 lbs." They were timely in picking him up and were very gentle with him. He was returned in a timely manner, with a lovely box, a keychain, some hair clipping and a nice card. The keychain had the wrong dates on it, so my son called, and with me on speaker phone, we gave them the correct dates and recieved another one. With a different date, also incorrect. They said they'd make another one, but I had to pick it up. They are over an hour away. I just didn't answer. It was too much at the time. Their prices were, bar none, the absolute lowest I could find. As it was sudden, I didn't have any money put away for this, so that helped immensely. I have my baby back with me now, that part went well. But I think they could be a tad more compassionate in their communications. read more

We had to use the services of Paws in Paradise not long ago, it was not something we'd planned for or knew how to deal with at all. In our grief, the folks at Paws in Paradise helped us navigate through a very difficult time. Though they get busy (because they are highly recommended), you should definitely leave a message because they will get back to you. They've always answered or returned my calls or sent me a text. This includes before they had my business as well as after I'd paid for everything and was done. Their outstanding service stayed true through and through. For us, they answered many of our questions by phone and then when we were comfortable and ready, made us an appointment to come in (they do not take walk ins because it is meant to be a private and personal time). Throughout the process, they never rushed us or pressured us or tried to up sell any thing. Paws in Paradise is a patient, kind and understanding group of folks that truly care. They were worth driving the hour out of our way to Killeen. So glad we went with them instead of the corporate, big business, vet referred places in Austin. Not only did they provide a more personal experience (it was clear by calling around what you were getting from each place) but we got a beautiful memorial package at a much better price than any of the other places we considered. Truthfully, we didn't pick this place for the better pricing, it was a coincidental bonus that came along with their kindness. I wanted to share my experience at Paws in Paradise; it was wonderful. I brought my pet for a euthanasia and cremation service and was greeted by a warm welcome of their staff who were very empathetic. Atmosphere there was very comforting. My daughter and I were able to hold our pet for a last time during the procedure. Vet was excellent and explained the whole procedure from beginning to end. We were allowed to sit with our pet for another 15-20 minutes after and say our goodbyes. Cremation package was beautiful , urn and keepsake were really heartfelt. I will recommend this place to everyone know who has to make a difficult decision to put their beloved pet down . I had done a lot of research before I chose paws in paradise. When I scheduled the euthanasia I didn't realize I had to go to Belton for that service. When we put him down, the representative was late getting there to pick him up. When we left to go back home, I received a call saying they were sorry.... are you able to make the payment now over the phone? I had already prepaid. About a week later they messaged me asking for a photo for the package I purchased. I asked if they could do the package without a photo and I would do that myself. That wasn't a problem. When it was time to pick up my boy, they sent another message. I called back to schedule a time to get him. I then received a prompt call back and was told I could get him anytime. Five minutes later I received another call saying I see that you had called what can I help you with? When I got to their store it was warm and welcoming. I was greeted promptly and asked my pets name. They handed me the bag and of course I looked to make sure I had everything I purchased. Since I was adding the photo myself, I asked if I could have the frame the Memorial was supposed to go in. All I wanted was the frame and for some reason they couldn't understand what I was asked for. About 5 minutes of her explaining to me why it wasn't in a frame, my friend stepped in because I was getting upset. Then she looked at the invoice and said that I was supposed to be refunded $10 for the wings because they didn't have the picture they were not able to do that. They handed me a 20 and asked if I had change. At this point I just wanted to get out of there. When I got home, I also didn't have the seeds or the invoice to look at because she never put it back in the bag. I thought I ordered 3 keychains. After the last encounter, I don't even care to go back to find out. read more

Paws in Paradise would not be my first choice in sending my pet over the rainbow Bridge. I ordered the memorial package and was frustrated that it didn't include the " flower seeds. Was promised it would be 7 to 10 business days to be completed, (reality was 3 weeks) the owner was argumentive and rude. When I went to pick up my pet the store was so disgusting.....it smelled of dead animals and cigarette smoke, I actually gagged. It may be cheaper than the one in Austin, but as the saying goes you get whst you pay for. read more

At the end of April 2023, it was time to say goodbye to my 16 year old pup. It was devastating. I came across paws in paradise and called them on a Thursday. My old lady had rapidly declined in two days. I had a wedding in Houston to attend on Saturday and the ladies at Paws in paradise worked with me to get a vet out to my home Friday evening. It was peaceful and a great experience, for what it was. I wish I remembered the vets name. She made an impact on me. She had finished all of her work at the clinic and made time to come from harker heights to temple at 730pm, a day before she was supposed to leave town too. She sat with us on the back porch and took her time with my Lily girl. We were able to say goodbye to Lily at home, on a warm sunny day in a relaxed loving way. The vet allowed us however much time we needed to say our goodbyes. I held and loved my girl a little while longer for the last time. When ready, they presented a basket I was able to lay lily in and they took her to their truck. I highly recommend this company. I cannot say anything but praise for them. read more

When my 13 year-old cat became too ill to go on, I called Paws in Paradise after seeing their website. Oscar at Paws was very helpful on the phone and reached out to Dr. Judy to come help us with her final day. It was a tough illness for my cat and the idea of putting her to sleep at home felt so much better than a car ride to the vet for both the cat and for us. Oscar and Judy could not have been more helpful or respectful. They let us know what to expect and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. It was very difficult but they made it as peaceful as possible. About a week later, they personally delivered Corsha's ashes in a nice box along with a laser engraving of her paw. UPDATE - Sadly I am updating my review sooner than expected. We had another dog pass away. While home euthanasia was not an option, we still brought our Stella here for cremation and memorial services. They were so great and comforting. Paws in Paradise was so understanding and caring throughout the whole process. Oscar arrived first and we filled out paperwork to decide which memorial package we wanted. Dr. Judy arrived shortly thereafter. They both brought a sense of calm to our home as we were all very emotional. There was a personal touch and comfort in laying Lillie to rest at home where she was most comfortable. Yesterday, we picked up her ashes and memorial package. I decided to drive over an hour from Austin to go to pets in paradise because they were one of the few fair priced establishments that were open on a weekend. I was incredibly happy with the choice after arriving. The lady working was incredibly kind and in no way tried to push me to spend any more money then what I wanted to. The process was very quick and she kindly offered to split my pets remains and provide an extra paw print keychain so that my sister could also have something to remember our pet by. Best priced in the greater Austin area and while it was a bit of a drive for me, it was well worth the trip for the phenomenal service and care they give to you. read more

So my dog of 13 years passed away and was my first animal that has ever passed. I already had this place in mind to go because it states on their website they do burials. When I wanted a burial I ASSUMED that you would be there when they are buried or at least be able to see them after at the burial site. Again first time a pet has passed so didn't know how this works with animals. So I called set up time to pick up my dog she stated yes they do burials and when they get there to pick up my dog they will go over details and pricing, etc. So the lady gets to my house goes over packages and I ask so as far as the burial will I be able to see him afterwards or do u guys provide stones with their name and she is like oh no you won't be able to see him again. And I told her so once you take him that's it, can't see him buried or afterwards and she said no. So I explain to her I assumed I would see him afterwards, my husband isn't here and wants to visit him. And at this point she is irritated. She is like well I wish you would have told them this earlier so I didn't waste my time coming over. I'm asking her questions and she keeps saying I don't know to everything because she is upset. And she is like well I gotta figure out how much you owe for making me drive all the way here. First of all I get she "wasted" her time coming to my house. Understand, but like I was explaining I didn't now know the process and was not told nor does it explain in website. I was crying all day from my dog just passing including my kids and then I have this lady in my house pissed off and getting an attitude because she wasted her time. I'm sure they are a great business, but burials need to be more explained on website and the person that is picking up your animal that you have been with for years could actually act like they care more or at least be more understanding about your situation and that you want the best for them when they pass away snd not pushing for services so she didn't just "waste" her time coming to my house. read more

I would just like to start off by saying thank you so much for helping me during my sad time. I lost one of furbabies sudden and late at night may I add, I live in Dallas googled all place near me, made phone calls and not one was open to help me out. I was a wreck and the fact that Paws in Paradise even answered was astonishing. On 1/5/19 we unexpectedly had to put our 14 year old baby girl Belle to sleep. We contacted a local one several times while we were still at the vet and never got a call back. We felt so bad leaving our dog at the vet overnight, I called Paws in Paradise and someone answered right away. This was on a Sunday. We spoke to Morgan and she right away set us up to go in and take in Belle. We drove from Austin to Killeen to take our dog to this location. Morgan was already there waiting for us and had already set up a space where we could lay our baby on. She showed compassion and she went thru the services the offered. She took her time, was not rushing us or pushing us to buy more items. She even offered to bring our dog home to us. After we decided what we wanted and were done, she allowed us time with our baby.to spend time with her before sayings goodbye. She told us it would be 7 to 10 days before we would get the cremains back. 7 business days later, early in the morning, we get the call that she was bringing Belle home. She brought our baby all.the way to our apartment in a little beautiful standard wooden box with our dog's name on it. They also gave us a silver angel's wing with our baby's paw print and picture. I had the unfortunate necessity for this service last month. I called after my Chihuahua Penny passed suddenly. The person on the phone was incredibly kind and patient with me while I cried to her. Pick-up was scheduled effortlessly. The driver who came to pick up my baby was named Oscar. He. Is. A. Blessing. So incredibly compassionate. He gave me time and space to say my last goodbye before placing her in a wicker basket and covering her with a blanket. The usual turnaround time to receive your pets cremains back is about 10 business days, mine were delivered back to me 6 days later, again by Oscar. He was so nice, again! Had a great experience with Paws in Paradise. I only dealt with one person but she was extremely helpful and always guided me with options and things to consider. She was always very courteous and professional. When the day came to say goodbye she was very sympathetic and lend an ear to listen to what I had to say about our pet's story leading us up to now. I'm sure she was very busy on a Saturday morning but she is a good person and knew it was the right thing to do in this difficult time. She surprised me with how prepared, punctual, and official she was. We had to make a hard decision not long ago to say goodbye to our 21 year old dog Eddie. It was a rough time trying to decide what to do, but we knew that we ultimately didn't want to take him to a vet clinic as the last place he'd see would be one he hated. So I did some looking around and found that Dr. Black with Paws in Paradise serves our local area (Belton) and we made an appointment for her to come out to give him an easy send off. Morgan came as well with one other staff member who took him to ensure his burial in a private place. Everyone was very understanding and compassionate and made the goodbye process easy for Eddie. Paws in Paradise were my saviors last Sunday afternoon. My sweet Dottie took a turn for the worst crossing the rainbow bridge suddenly. Being that it was a Sunday, I was at a loss to who to call.
