We are from out of town and our lab puppy Olive ate rat poison. Yelped, called Crossroads, and they treated Olive immediately. Crossroads was professional, personable, and notably cheap. Shout out to crossroads thank

Great care for our puppy. Trusted with all her puppy appointments and vaccinations. I like that you can order meds through them.

Good treatment for my kitten except that they were somewhat pushy about getting him stuff I didn't think he needed.

I feel this shelter can be better if it had more staff and was more organized with more animal lovers. We did adopt from this shelter. They didn't have much information on the puppy we brought home. The adoption process did take a bit , computers were down at some point. But you can tell the main staff really do love what they're doing. Most are volunteering which is probably why some don't "care". Needs the right leader , and this can actually be an amazing shelter. Our second visit was for a neuter , they have set prices. Which are actually nice for having a medium sized dog. So you aren't paying that crazy price at your vets office. Again the process was very unorganized, since a lot of pet parents were picking up on that same day. Maybe adding stations , one does the paper work. Then we move along to the actual pick up / talking to the Dr. then having a flowing area for people coming in to look / adopt. Or close the doors to adopters on these pick up days. Just throwing out ideas. Over all I'd definitely go by again in the future as well as recommend to friends. Also all adoption fees go right back into the care for these beautiful pups & their needs. Which is always a plus in my book.

My girl woke to a festering, infectious cyst that was on the verge of rupturing (a known benign cyst for years) and she was licking it and was clearly having discomfort. I got an appointment was seen on time, diagnosed, plan of action, treatment and medication within a half an hour It was impressive ! My fearful girl was on the road to healing and I'm grateful to this kind, efficient and knowledgeable staff.

I was there with my Aussiedoodle. Rylie and I discussed my dog's itch and what food I should be feeding River to stop the itch. It was so wonderful to talk to someone with the somewhat similar breed of dog. Then Dr. Teagre, was the icing on the cake. She was magnificent!! So sweet and we discussed River's itch and she printed out a picture of the specific dog food to feed to hopefully stop the itch. Dr. Sent home with us ear rinse, ear meds and pills. We've dealt with these issues more than once and Dr. and asst. were very caring and gentle with River. They both put my mind at ease to keep River safe and healthy!!

I am going to begin this review with some facts that some people might find unusually cruel and…read moreupsetting. My pregnant dog (A female Chihuahua who weighs 10 lbs. at full term) who had been in unproductive labor for 23 hours was brought to Animal Emergency Care Center of Killeen, previously known as After Hours Vet Care, for evaluation and possible treatment. Upon arriving the veterinary technician took my dam from the treatment room to elsewhere in the clinic where Kevin Kruse DVM, did unauthorized treatment on her. His care consisted of the following "reaching into the birth canal, trying to pull the stuck pup out and in the process ripped the pup to pieces and the parts he could not extract, he left inside of the mother, all of this without anesthesia, pain medication, or my prior knowledge and consent." Can you imagine the pain she endured? BRUTAL, PAINFUL, AND INHUMANE! And for those who may question this, I will upload of copy of my pup's treatment record that clearly states this. I WILL NOT suggest that you not take your pet here for emergency treatment because options here in Central Texas are limited when it comes to pet care outside of normal office hours. But what I do suggest is that you inform yourself of your care options and never allow your pet out of your sight so that you can supervise the standard of care they are provided. What happens behind closed doors is often concealed and your beloved pet may suffer as mine did. Now the back story! My pet was in unproductive labor for 23 hours and out of concern I took her to this clinic for evaluation. From experience I know that a first-time birth can often cause labor exhaustion where the mother stops the labor process entirely, which necessitates medical intervention to get the labor to restart and pups to be born. A combination of oxytocin, calcium and glucose are administered as the first step in this care option. If this treatment is unsuccessful then the next step is cesarean section. There is no treatment option that suggests that a veterinarian should attempt to forcefully pull a pup from the birth canal. The care I expected my pup would get and what she actually received is very disturbing. After Kevin Kruse DVM's failure to remove the pup, he and the vet tech returned to the room and advised me that Sugar would need an emergency C-section and the cost would be $2070. After questioning this and asking about alternative care, he said that she was toxic and would definitely die without the surgery. I asked if there was something we could do overnight, considering she was a healthy dog otherwise, until I could get her in to our regular vet who does not charge exorbitantly (I'm an educator, not a millionaire). Keep in mind I did not know about his failed attempt at this point. These were the options I was offered 1) surgery with costs outside of my financial means or 2) euthanasia. I truly did not have the extra funds to pay $2000 without putting my family at financial risk. So I chose the one thing I did not want to do, but I felt was humanely necessary based on the information I was given at the time, we euthanized our Sugar and her unborn pups. I tearfully came home and researched what other options should have been available for my pup and of course I found the regimen that my regular vet had used in the past as the first suggestion. I then found a case where Kevin Kruse DVM had been penalized by the Texas Veterinary Board of Medical Examiners in 2017 for almost the same exact treatment of a laboring dog. You can read it here http://texasveterinaryrecords.com/Kruse-2016-187.pdf After this discovery, I immediately returned to the clinic and demanded my pet's medical documentation in order to file a complaint. Upon the receipt of the documents, I discovered that he had committed this awful, failed treatment on my dog and subsequently removed any chance of her and her pups survival. Her suffering, and knowing he ripped one pup to pieces and that the other unborn pups suffered a slow death after the euthanasia is nauseating.

If I could give negative stars,I would. After our awesome groomer moved to Dallas,my husband found…read moreSoggy Doggies. He went in & said they were nice.I told him I wouldn't take my Briards there because not many people know how to groom Briards, however,if he wanted to take the other 2 dogs (a Shih Tzu/Retriever mix & Morkie) that was fine. One thing we asked them: not to clip the Morkie's ears as we wanted her hair to grow longer. They constantly clip her ears short.I found mats on her coat.Husband liked them so I let it go.I did start taking my 3 y/o Briard (my Service Dog) to get his nails&ears cleaned out.He did not like Soggy Doggies AT ALL.When I first took him in, the girl in the back came out to clip his nails. She grabbed back legs 1st & when she grabbed front leg, I said "he has double dewclaws that need to be clipped as well." She SNAPPED, "I know! This is MY job! I KNOW what I'm doing!" Whoa! Then why didn't she do double declaws on the back paws? When I first brought him in,the owner asked me if he was a labradoodle! Briards are a purebred ancient breed!I took him in periodically to get his nails&ears done. It's hard for me to do them because I have Duyputren's Contracture in both hands. So,paying someone to do just the nails & clean the ears is worth it. Any time I took him there though, he would freak out & back away from them & jump up on me. He's been trained never to jump up on people. He was freaking out.I couldn't figure out why.It didn't make sense. In training @ school, anyone can take his leash & work w/ him.Apparently they were manhandling him because he doesn't behave this way anywhere else!I got another Briard puppy in Dec.Made an appointment to have her fully groomed ONLY for training purposes to have her handled by someone else. They didn't do a "clean up" around the vag or anus.Stated "we don't do that!"I said I asked for a full groom."We don't do that."Hmm.Okay.I made an appointment for my Service Dog because I was scheduled for surgery on my hand & wouldn't be able to groom him after the surgery (last week).I dropped him off this morning."We'll call you when he's done."I got a VM from my husband saying he was picking up MY service dog from the groomers.Uhhhh, what? They were supposed to call ME.I have his vest, collar, & leash.I called to ask why they called my husband instead of me & was told I was supposed to tell them to call me, not him.Umm, I was the one who dropped my SERVICE DOG off.Was told I should've informed them of that.I was told, "We have 1,500 dogs, we can't keep track of everyone." Me: You have 1,500 dogs there? Really?"She said, "No, that's in our client list." Whatever.Well, that didn't stop them from calling me when I dropped the puppy off a month ago for her grooming. They didn't call my husband. They called me.When he came home, I saw that my dog couldn't see because of the hair covering his eyes.I checked his ears:NOT CLEANED (see pics),not only that, as I we were trying to pull his hair back into what we call his "man bun" my hand touched something hard near his mouth. He had MATS still around his mouth and his nose with food debris from this morning's breakfast! His hair was also very frizzy, they did not condition!Briards have HAIR that's supposed to be conditioned, they don't have fur.As I took the straight comb to brush the hair out of his face, under coat was in the comb! So, I used the comb on his back & more undercoat came off (see pics). Thus proving they don't do a full grooming of combing out the undercoat. They have no clue what they're doing.I called back to let the owner know my dog had mats on his face & she argued he didn't as she was the one who groomed him, "I brushed him & combed him myself".I have pictures of the mats & undercoat I started combing out w/my good hand. Said they don't tie hair back as it's bad for the hair.Never had a problem w/ any of my Briards! So that's a lie. The total cost according to my husband was $55. That's it?Hey, you get what you pay for! When I used to have my Briards groomed by my previous groomer, it was always near or over $200.Why?Because she did a topnotch job & my Briards were SILKY smooth, not frizzy--she knew how to groom ALL breeds, a true Master Groomer!I should have just waited until my hand is healed because I can tell you my dog's coat was silkier this morning when I dropped him off. Also, my husband always tips VERY well! He tips 25%! I was ticked when I found out he tipped that much for this horrible groom! After hanging up from them, they apparently kept calling my husband. He told the owner he heard how she had just talked to me.He told her to cancel appointments for our small dogs,we were done! She called back AGAIN & AGAIN!He blocked their number!I showed my husband the yelp reviews & that they only had 3 stars. That should tell you something! This place is always filthy. They have a horrible attitude!

She claims that our pet could not be handled as he went after her. He is a trained dog and has never gone after anyone. Just the opposite, he loves attention. In my opinion the groomer did not know what they were doing. His nails were not done, he still had an odor about him and his deshedding was done very poorly. I called and asked to speak with the owner and was told she was not available. Long story short, there are too many choices in the area for me to have to deal with an employee with an attitude on the phone while voicing my concerns. Not a professional business. Not a place I'll return to.

We went to a couple of places, one even where you can watch on an app that was closer to us, but when we went to visit the place, we did not like the "vibe" of the place. When we took a tour (just call, and they will let you take a look at the facility before hand) of Paws Landing, we immediately felt great! We had our puppy for an half day "evaluation" with Durenda, which also made us feel at ease. She is marvelous!!! When we picked her up from that, she went over everything she did, and how she thought our puppy would do. They had her in a small yard first and let our puppy feel safe before they had her with the other dogs. I really like too, how they have the dogs separated into "small dogs", " large dogs" and "very active dogs". She has a great team working with her, watching over them, and most importantly taking care of them all day. They will always send you a text and email to confirm your reservation, which is great. They go inside and outside to play all day. If they go "all day" they will get a 2-hour rest, so they get a break from all the fun! But, believe me, when you pick your dog, they will be tired when they get home, which is "good thing"! Pam will send you pictures later via text of your dog, which is great to see at the end of the day. Now, that my dog has gone for awhile, she gets excited when we get there, and she is excited to see Pam and her team when I drop her off. Look no further for a great place for "doggy day care", Pam and her team will take VERY GOOD care of them, like they were one of their own!!!

What really sets them apart is the 24-hour staffing--they provide round-the-clock care for boarded animals, so I never have to worry about my dog being alone overnight. We've used them for both daycare and overnight boarding multiple times, and it's been a fantastic experience every single time. I highly recommend Paws Landing for anyone looking for reliable, loving care for their furry family members!
