When our old vet retired, we had to find a new one. 1 of the Dr's from our old clinic had recently moved over to the HSB Vet Clinic. We thought we were making a smart move my switching everyone over there since we were already familiar with her. That turned out to be the BIGGEST mistake! When I discovered something abnormal on my corgi's scrotum area, I took him in. She did not do any testing whatsoever, looked at it, had another Dr look at it, came back & told me that they believe it to be a form of cancer. She continued to tell me that due to his age & medical history, she didn't feel as though he would be a candidate for a biopsy because he probably wouldn't be able to pass the anesthesia & they didn't think they would be able to stop the bleeding. In short, she was basically telling me he should be put to sleep. Something in my gut didn't feel right. I decided to get a 2nd opinion. Made the appt with Dr. DeFiley, took ALL of his records. She was more optimistic. In all of his prior blood tests, his platelets were all in a normal range. So there shouldn't be an issue with clotting. She did the surgery & sent what was removed for testing. Turns out it was NOT cancer! This was such a relief! To think that the other vet made no effort at all to help my Flapjack & suggested he be put to sleep infuriates me! Needless to say, we are extremely happy with Dr. DeFiley & will doing all of our business with her at Bluebonnet! She's truly cares about the wellbeing of your fur babies.

He starts making these deep throaty growls that make him seem more like a "feral hog" than a pug. It's scary sometimes the sounds he makes. It took three trips to this venue to finally get him acclimated to the team. Dr. McJett and her team is so patient and supportive of our little maniac. She has recommended so many helpful tips to help us. Our Max had an ear infection and he would not put us treat him at home. After several attempts, Dr. McJett was able to pack it and allow the healing to begin. At least to a point where we could start home treatment. Other local vets were unsuccessful. I Love the fact that they will always give you a price estimate upfront, before they start the service. No surprises. No "Invoice Shock". Just honest upfront cost reports. Dr. Rob walked me through his treatment rationale. We had a real discussion about the best course of treatment instead of the typical take-it-or-leave-it approach you get at most facilities. Unlike some of our experiences with other veterinarians in Austin, we never feel rushed. We truly appreciate the care and attention he gives to both us and our cat Reishi. Dr. Rob performed oral surgery to remove several of Reishi's teeth. It was the first major surgery we had experienced with her. He was extremely patient with our questions, took wonderful care of her, and guided us through the entire process. Reishi healed very quickly and had no postoperative complications, which we were especially grateful for after hearing about friends whose pets experienced infections and other issues following similar procedures elsewhere. Recently, Reishi had a cancer scare after an alarming initial assessment at an emergency vet. We were quite stressed. When we brought her to see Dr. Rob, he first acknowledged what we had been through and made us feel heard and cared for before discussing the next steps. He even emailed us with test results and next steps while he was on a family vacation, which showed us how deeply he cares about his patients. Fortunately, further testing showed that Reishi did not have cancer. Going through such a stressful experience felt much more manageable knowing that Reishi was under Dr. Rob's care. He is compassionate, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in both his patients and their families. Unfortunately, we are moving out of state and will have to find a new veterinarian.
