I havent actually tried their food i usually go to watch live bands. So this place has a concert hall connected to a bar. Whats nice is on Saturdays, theres a DJ at the connecting bar so you can just switch to the bar after the concert and start dancing the night away. Service is good. Theres also a bunch of swcurity guys walking around. Definitely will keep coming back.

Been to this place a few times and it's pretty crazy or quiet depending on when it is. It's a long time Palatine favorite for parties. Nellie's is conveniently located close to the Metra station. Lots of drinks. The food isn't as celebrated but it's not bad though. A lot of beer to get. It's about $4 for a monthly special they always have. The last time it was Revolution Infinity Hero, good stuff. A lot of typical bar food. Has some healthier options among the fried stuff. It's about $14 for the Green Chile Burger. This one is all vegan. Filling. This is probably the best among the healthy options. Come for good times, drinks, and pretty okay food. It has a pretty big inside with lots of room for parties. The menu has a few things for vegans and vegetarians.

We went to hear School of Rock Glenbrook perform here because our grandkids are involved in it. The venue has great visuals and sound. There is a full service bar and typical bar food items available. Servers work hard to make everyone happy. Parking lot and garage are nearby and free. We are always impressed with SoR Glenbrook concerts. The kids work hard to put on a great show and it's nice that they get to play in a professional venue.

There's some good parts such as location, proximity to a parking garage, upstairs private area, and plenty of TVs to watch a game that make this a place that should be good to hangout. But pricey food, some bands that play a bit too loud, and a fairly empty atmosphere on some nights do take away from fully recommending it as a place to hangout with friends. There are increasingly more options in the Northwest suburbs that don't feel as dated and have a better layout to host a gathering (the size of the space almost takes away from the atmosphere -- unless it can be filled nightly with hundreds of people).

My husband and I went to Durty Nellie's with a Meet-up group to hang out and play games. The large room upstairs was reserved for us. There is a full service bar up there, and you can also order food from the kitchen. When the event was scheduled, there was supposed to be karaoke there as well, but in the interim, a live band was scheduled. This cover band was not very good and very loud. This is a terrible combination. We could no longer enjoy listening to each other's conversations. We had to scream to be heard. I did not have a good time and can not recommend Durty Nellie's.

We wanted to get back here while we still could, my wife grew up near here and i spent a lot of my youth here seeing great bands. We came strictly for the food this time there were no bands or anything else going on. I didn't have a lot of expectations, we used to like the food but it had been about 15 years since we had last been here. The menu is what you would expect, bar kinda stuff, salads, sandwiches, burgers and some entrees. I was in the mood for a burger and the Nelly sounded pretty good, with bacon jam, white cheddar on a pretzel bun and my wife got Grain Bowl that she absolutely loved. But that Burger was special, it had been awhile since I have had another even close to that good. Often pretzel buns sound good, but in reality there overly bready and stiff, this was soft and perfect, everything was in balance and the burger patty was juicy and had great beef flavor. It was unexpected, but awesome. In addition they also served some very good tots, perfectly cooked and hot. Now to the service, we had an awesome waiter, engaging and fun, such a great experience, he also talked us into some homemade almond cloud cake thing that was to absolutely die for.

This place reminds me why I don't go out in Palatine. Gross food. Shitty service. Skeezy people. Go to Peggy Kinnane's instead!

Great place to watch bands and have drinks. I plan on going back soon. They have food as well, which I haven't tried yet. Maybe next time.

We are going to see live music and we're wondering what the seating is like. I have a broken foot and I'm worried that I won't be able to stand the whole time. If the band is going on at 10 o'clock, what time should we get there to get good seats?

Hey there - if you want a table, you'll probably have to arrive super early. And even then, I'm not sure there are many places to sit in the venue. Outside the music space there are tables and chairs and a bar, and I believe there are private spaces…

Is there a dress code at this establishment?

It's a sports bar. Casual attire.

Our Burger Club finally made it's way to Jimmy D's back in December of 2025. It was a Monday night,…read moreand kinda cold outside. There were seven of us and we all converged from Buffalo Grove and Vernon Hills. Jimmy D's doesn't come up on your normal burger place lists in and around the area, but we saw a post somewhere and knew we had to check this place out, especially if it ended up being across from the future home of the Chicago Bears. We'd probably end up hanging out there and wanted to make sure it was a good enough place to hang and be a part of the action, whilst not paying for said action. Anyhoo, we all pulled up to find a nice parking lot next to/behind the restaurant. It's a cool place with a couple entrances (one in the lot and the other from the street). It's a nicely adorned building and has the requisite sports decor on the inside with plenty of televisions to watch many games at once. There was plenty of seating for our group as it was quite empty on a Monday night and there wasn't any game of note when we were there. We called ahead letting them know our numbers and they accommodated us with a reserved table. They were attentive and constantly refilled out waters and sodas and brought more beer when needed/requested. The service was friendly and attentive. We were there for the burgers of which there are four options: the House burger, the Fried Egg Burger, the Mac Daddy, and a Black Bean burger. However, stipulations for being in our club is that you can only order a red meat-based burger. We did order the buffalo sauced wings as an appetizer to share. They were sauced nicely, not too hot, and quite good. I would definitely recommend getting them if you visit. I also ordered the cream of chicken soup. It was a perfect option for the cold night and I rank it among one of the better cream of chicken soup options in the suburbs. While not a sommelier of cream of chicken soup, I do rank it quite well: I think it matches Jameson's Char House for quality, thickness, and flavor. Mama clearly knows what she's doing with her soup. I opted for the Mac Daddy burger. It's prepared with: black angus beef, boom boom sauce, house mac n' cheese, bacon, fried onions, sliced jalapeños, toasted brioche. I normally don't opt for the special/signature house sauces as I've been burned before by these so-called "recommended" house sauces (I'm looking at you, Lucky Burger, with your terrible "dijonnaise" sauce - ugh, don't get me started on THAT sauce). However, I was told it's a hot sauce for the burger and figured it wouldn't overpower everything else on the burger. The mac n' cheese was a tad creamy, but so what, the bacon, fried onions, jalapenos, and boom boom sauce cut into the creaminess a bit and it worked. And it didn't overpower the flavor of the burger, which I thought it would, but somehow didn't. I really liked this burger, the bun held up, the bacon stayed crispy, and jalapenos and sauce added a nice kick but not overwhelmingly so. I would get this again. The sandwiches come with housemade fries or tots, but I know that if tots are offered, you can (generally) never go wrong with tots (I'd point out Puck's Pub but they closed and did the world a favor in doing so). Everyone generally liked their burgers and would return again. In our 5 point scale, Jimmy D's District got a 4.25. They have a nice brunch menu and drinks to match and I want to try them out someday. Let me know if you're going and I'll meet ya there if available.

The buffalo mac & cheese truly surprised me. It's covered with an ale cheese sauce that is full of flavor and on top, there are buffalo chicken crisps! So good! The Greek Fries were my other favorite! It has a roasted garlic aioli, crumbled feta and oregano. I could eat an entire plate of it with no problem! On Fridays and Saturdays in the evening, there is live music but outside of the live music, the environment is lively, the service from everyone was pleasant and attentive, and there are TVs everywhere, like literally!
