I have never dealt with customer service like I have had to deal with at this store. I had purchased a fan and had nothing but problems with it. They finally took the fan back, it has been 8 weeks and I still have not received my refund and have made four phone calls to find out what's taking so long. I was asked on the second call to provide my credit card number for the refund. I emailed three weeks later to only be asked if I had called and provided the credit card information. Really where did my information go, sure hope it didn't get into some other hands? I have provided the information a second time via phone and still no credit for merchandise they picked up. I sure hope to this taken care of soon for I would love to get my fan replaced. I should mention all contact either by phone call or email took place with the store manager with the exception of the last call. Don't buy anything from here if you need it installed. I purchased a ceiling fan and paid an additional fee to have it installed. I was told I would receive a call within 24 hours to set up an appointment. Three days later I called and was told I would receive a call before six that night or call back if I had not received a call. I was then told that the installer had been contacted and another text would be sent. I let the night manager know that I would return the ceiling fan if I wasn't contacted by noon the next day. You guessed it. The fan was returned. The day manager said she had called the installer to contact me. Unfortunately no one followed up to see that it was done. Very disappointing as I will have to look elsewhere for a more reliable store. read more

This store offers 5 star customer service and Kelly is knowledgeable and very patient. Kelly even called back to discuss another remedy. We originally purchased 5 fans from this store in 2010 and Lamps Plus still wanted to resolve the issue and it's now 2016. The fan stopped working, and we weren't told , sorry of of warranty. I've been redoing the lighting in my home and know very little about fixture fits/types of light/etc. and Pete has patiently and enthusiastically, over several visits, helped me figure it out. It's frustrating that great customer service is almost a thing of the past but my experience at this store has been very positive and encouraging that it's still out there. read more

My wife and I purchased a lamp and 4 bulbs from the Peoria store. Angelina stated they did not have the lamp in stock and she would have to have it shipped. When she rang the sale up she would not give me the bulbs and stated that she would ship them the next day from the store. I told her I am right here and so are the bulbs so why ship them. She still refused to let me carry them out and was acting very shady. My wife and I thought it was kind of funny, I told her I bet she charges us again for the bulbs. This morning I looked at my bank statement and sure enough she charged me another $39 and change for 4 more light bulbs. I called the corporate office to cancel my sale because of this and as soon as I said I wanted to cancel my order they hung up on me. I then called the store and spoke to Steve, he stated that "We dont cancel orders at the store you need to call the corporate office") and hung up on me. I called the corporate office again and spoke to Matt, he was very helpful. He and canceled my order for the light fixture but told me that the bulbs were rung up as a POS purchase at the store so I would have to speak with them about a refund on the bulbs. I called the store and found out that Steve is the Assistant manager. He was very rude and condescending about the refund and gave me the run around. I had to call my bank and file a fraud claim against Lamps Plus. I would highly recommend that you dont shop at Lamps Plus. Terrible customer service from the management level down to the employees. Never have I felt so ignored and disrespected! I went here last night 12/4 at around 7pm and was completely offended and the kind of customer service I got. I walked in with my daughter who was visiting and we were looking to buy quite a few things from ceiling fans to a crystal chandelier. As I walked in the store, I was surprised at how busy it was for the time of day. I walked around for about 10 minutes and was not greeted by anyone. There seemed to be only 1 young male employee in the store which was already helping another customer. I finally walked up to the counter and noticed that an older female employee was on her phone just sitting in the corner at one of the desks. I walked up to her and she did not even look up at me! I figured she did not want to help me and decided to try and find someone else. I continued to walk around but after about 20-30 minutes we decided to leave since we were never serviced. I saw the lady that was on her phone get up once just long enough to talk to someone just for a moment to answer a question. She then went right back to her spot in the corner on her phone. The female employee was tall and had somewhat of an accent. I was appalled that with a store full of customers someone had the audacity to just ignore everyone and play on their phone. It is clear this store does not appreciate their customers. I definitely not be buying anything from this store in the future! read more

I've been to this location a few times. They have a nice selection of lighting to pretty much suit everyone's tastes, but unless you are old and look like you are going to spend loads of money, don't expect any sort of service. The last and final time my husband and I went here, we were intending to purchase some track lighting. We actually found some stuff we really liked after about 10 minutes and we waited around that area hoping that someone could help us with some questions. Well, 15 minutes later, that never happened, but new people were helped. We got in line, seriously, to ask a question. After our question was answered, instead of sending an associate to help us with our purchase, we were ignored again. So we tried finding someone else on the floor. No luck. Apparently, because we are in our 20's we were just window shopping and not planning on dropping a few hundred dollars on lighting. Needless to say, we didn't purchase anything in this awful store, and instead left pissed off. On our way out we had to resist the urge not to trash anything and everything in sight. Bottom line, go here with your grandparents if you want service, otherwise, go elsewhere. THE WORST! read more

I consider myself a Value shopper, and high expectations re Customer Service as I've spent 2 careers in Customer Service and have done well. Lamps Plus, notably Chris, in the Peoria store offered great service. I arrived almost 5 minutes before closing and he answered all my questions, never felt rushed, every question answered by multiple suggestions. I went back and made an exchange. Yea, try that online shopping...I've made 3 purchases in this store. The service is in this day and age of online bargains- this store is way it should be excellent. read more

Great experience! My wife and I went in and started looking around. The store was very busy (nice to see) and we were greeted in a mater of minutes. We continued to look around some more when TJ came up and started asking all the right questions that I did not even think about to ask. TJ is great! My wife and I felt he was very knowledgeable and has great customer service! We showed him some pictures and he had some great suggestions that we went with. They had our light fixture in the warehouse which Jose ran to get (mind you they are very busy with it being a Sunday) in a matter of 15 minutes. There are some negative comments on this page, however I feel they have listened and have corrected the staff issue that other yelpers have mentioned. If you go to this location make sure you ask for TJ. TJ is not just there to sell, he will make sure you get the fixture that will fit your space while also making sure you are educated on what you are looking to purchase. I would never reccomend this store. I bought a ceiling fan for the living room from them and had already purchased three fans from another company. The sales associate, Angelika Perry, told me that if I had their company install all four fans, not only would it be cheaper, but the installation would be guaranteeed for two years on all four fans: wrong! Not only was the installtion $200 more than she quoted, the fans from the other company are not guaranteed, and they will not even come out to see what is wrong with the fan I am having issues with. I don't know if it is the fan or the installation, but either way, I was completely lied to just in order that they make a sale. Addtionally, she sold me four remotes that she said would operate the down lights and up light independently of eachother, which is also not true. I have had 4 transactions with this store over the last month and have received outstanding service each time. The sale people have been very helpful in ensuring that we have seen the full range of products available for our purpose and provided insight and decorating perspective when requested. We have found the customer service to be beyond expectation. Returns and replacements have been smoothly processed and been a pleasant experience due to the friendly and helpful staff. We have used this store over the last four years and while the service has been good, the current staff from the manager and sales people to the warehousemen have provided outstanding service. Beautiful store and it was helpful to look at the products in person. But don't bother to go on the weekends when they are so busy, because even though it may look like there were many sales people, no one will even look at you. Salespeople will ignore you even if it doesn't look like they're busy. I was there for 1/2 hour and only one person made eye-contact and apologetically told me that he was busy with another customer. I'm sure that was true and he seemed sincere, so that's fine. Everybody else totally ignored me even though someone had called in the morning to answer a question and told me her name four times encouraging me to come in today and ask for her. I saw her and I know she identified me, but no acknowledgment , because she was busy. I understand busy but maybe they could have a number system so you would know that eventually somebody would get to you, or maybe somebody could at least say something to acknowledge your presence? They do that at Home Depot. Or she could have suggested that I come in on Monday or Tuesday when it isn't as busy. IF I ever go back I will lower my expectations, just look at the products and order online. Or I'll go somewhere else. read more

I ordered from the online site. Glass arrived shattered and the other two items were incorrect. When I went to the 83rd ave/bell location to return the broken items, I had a terrible time with associates who were totally unhelpful and rude. They spoke to me like I was the village idiot who just ruined their day with my return. I had spent over $600 with this company and intended to simply exchange what I had bought for something that wasn't broken. They also asked me how the glass broke, then asked if I was sure when I told them it had arrived broken- as if I myself had broken it and was trying to screw them with my return. Forget it. My money will be spent elsewhere. An associate named Linda was particularly unhelpful and rude. She actually rolled her eyes at me at one point as I spoke with her, then went to a room off to the right side of the store where I heard her laughing after I had just spoken with her.
