If one could give this location a zero, I'd give them that. Yesterday we went into this Spencer's location on Bell Rd. to see about purchasing a Whirlpool dryer. Spencer's is supposedly a "employee owned company" so one might expect a little more courtesy, pride, and respect from those who work there. One might also expect a little more regard for seniors who USED to shop Spencer's for all our appliances - from refrigerators to washers to microwave ovens. We were "greeted" by a young man who really didn't know too much about the dryers. OK, we get that as we knew what we wanted. We were all set to purchase the dryer - except one problem. We wanted to use our Spencers card, and because we hadn't used it in a few years, it was declined and the young man said we would have to reapply. In the past we applied by paper, no problem. Now, everything HAD to be done on a smartphone (now, what would happen if one didn't have a smartphone???). Well, we (me and mother) are seniors and a bit hard of hearing). We tried using my smartphone to complete the process but encountered not a smooth process but an obstacle course. Bottom line - Because I had put in our landline as a means of contacting us with the verification code our application had been denied even after years of paying off every Spencer's bill we had received for previous purchases. (In the past Spencer's employees would have least have done the application process on paper and helped walk the customer through it - NO LONGER) Throughout this all, the other "professional" staff made no effort to help us until one of them did come over and said "you should have used your card more often". He at least dialed their credit company which promptly "dropped" our call. After about a half-hour of this we decided to walk out. Outside of that one man who said we should have used our card more often no one from management came over, offered to assist us or go the extra mile to keep a customer happy. We may have to go to Lowe's or Home Depot and pay more, but at least we might be treated more fairly and with the respect a Spencer's customer for almost two decades should have gotten. Spencer's says "You've got a friend in the appliance business." SOME FRIEND. (I am looking at some of the reviewers of those who because of lack of respect and communication skills sadly had similar experiences and sadly it does not surprise me one bit) Mr. Biederbeck (President of Spencer's) just might be hearing from us. read more

WARNING! DO NOT PURCHASE EXTENDED WARRANTY CONTRACT FROM SPENCER'S TV & APPLIANCE! In 2017, we bought a 5-year extended warranty contract from Spencer's TV & Appliance when we purchase a refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer, paying $600. The refrigerator stopped cooling on Tuesday. I retrieved the paperwork for the appliance and remembered about the warranty. We called Spencer's. They looked up the invoice to confirm the warranty purchase. They then said they would call the warranty service company with our information. They also gave us the name/phone of the company - Centurion Service Corporation. We called Centurion Tuesday (late afternoon) and left a message. We got a call back from them on Wednesday (late morning). They said they needed to call GE Repair to set up an appointment. Then asked if we wanted to hold or get a call back. We said we would hold. 20 minutes later, we were hung up on. We waited all day for a call back to no avail. During that time we called Centurion and left messages 5 times. Finally, Thursday, after trying to get Centurion on the phone, at 9:30 am we decided to call another company, Dynamic Appliance Repair, to look at the fridge. Although they were booked solid for the day, they promised to have a technician to us between 11 and 2. The gentleman, Scott, showed up at our door at 11:30 am (with the needed parts). He expertly fixed our fridge (he knew what the problem was just from our description on the phone) and was gone by 12:00 noon. Turns out Scott is the owner of Dynamic Appliance Repair, who decided that because his other techs were booked, he took our call himself. That is customer service! While Scott was still here, Centurion called (big mistake!). They said that they have verified that we did in fact have an extended warranty. Excuse me? That was verified 4 days ago by the store! Then Centurion proudly told us they could have a technician to us by next Wednesday - 6 days out! OMG! They were told that we had already called someone else, and that the refrigerator was being worked on. We then called Spencer's. Told them what had been happening, and that we wanted a refund of our $600 because they breached our contract. They started in with this song and dance that the contract would be prorated ... blah, blah, blah. Moral of the story? Spencer's extended warranty is a fraud. Centurion Service is a sham. Be careful with extended warranties. They are sold to second parties and when repairs go wrong Spencer's will not be there to back up their warranty. I purchased an LG cooktop (model LSEL6335D) in 2022 from Spencer's Appliances in Glendale, AZ, along with a 4-year extended warranty managed by New Leaf. Unfortunately, my experience with the repair process for a malfunctioning triple element burner was deeply frustrating and took an unacceptable 7 weeks to resolve. The issues began when all burners activated regardless of the switch used. Dr. Appliance, dispatched by New Leaf, made multiple visits, replacing all infinite switches and the control board. However, the initial repairs were botched--knobs didn't function correctly, the ultra heat burner couldn't boil water, and the triple element burner only partially worked, with only the middle ring activating. It wasn't until a later technician confirmed that two switches were incorrectly installed (swapped positions) that the issue was finally fixed. My biggest concern is that Dr. Appliance admitted their technicians lacked certified training and were encouraged to rely on YouTube videos for guidance. While some repairs might be manageable for a DIYer with basic skills and good instructions, I expected professional, qualified service under a warranty. Instead, the process felt like trial-and-error, with multiple failed visits dragging out over nearly two months. The extended warranty structure added to the frustration. Spencer's sold the warranty to New Leaf, who acted solely as a dispatch service, leaving me with no direct leverage over Dr. Appliance's poor performance. As a consumer, I felt powerless to expedite or influence the process, despite paying $400 for the warranty. In hindsight, I would have been better off saving that money and handling the repair myself with proper resources. While the cooktop now works, the ordeal was unnecessarily prolonged and stressful. I strongly recommend that future customers consider whether an extended warranty is worth it and verify that any repair service employs certified technicians. I don't write many reviews, but in this case I deem it to be necessary. First of all my wife and I are elderly. To be candid, we get tired of being taken advantage of because of our age. We needed all new kitchen appliances so we went to Spencers form of word of mouth. Word of mouth is the best method when going into any project. Businesses most often ruin themselves. Word simply gets out and is spread. As we walked in the store a salesman approached us. His name was Joe. He directed us to what my wife was looking for and she was pleased. What a phenomenal salesperson Joe turned out to be. All four appliances were delivered the very next day on a Saturday. The two delivery men, Aaron and Sammy installed each item and explained how each worked. Sometimes technology has its disadvantages as one ages. The next weekend we decided to get a new mattress. Ours was 14 years old. We had tried a Beauty Rest Black at Mattress Firm and really liked it. But it was a bit pricey. So we went back to see Joe. They didn't carry the same model and they couldn't give us a discount on it. It was the policy of Beauty Rest. So what did they do? Joe called and had the mattress built. On top of that for $400 we were basically given a 65" LG OLED 4K television. Outright the listed price was close to $1800 not including tax. No, we didn't need it, but for $400 I couldn't turn the offer down. The delivery young men put our 55" LED in our master bedroom. In closing, Joe has retired, but I am quite positive all of the salesmen in that office on West Bell Ave. will give you the same dedicated experience. Joe gave us his phone number and told him to call at anytime if we had problems. I waited close to a month to write this review and my wife loves her appliances, I love that LG and we both love the mattress. So all I am asking when the time comes give Spencers Appliances the opportunity to help you in your quest for your needs. They most certainly did us. read more

My recent experience with Spencer's TV & Appliance turned out to be a real letdown. I was just trying to add a new fridge to my home, and instead, I ended up in a frustrating loop of rescheduled deliveries, damaged goods, and a customer service that seemed to not really care about my time or satisfaction. The fridge arrived damaged after several delays, and when I called Spencer's right away, their response felt dismissive. They implied that by accepting the delivery, I was okay with the damage, which didn't sit right with me at all. Trying to get someone out to check the damage was another headache. Their scheduling system is a mess, completely inflexible and impersonal. It hit a low point when a service tech called me early in the morning, saying he'd be right over, which clashed with my kids' school run. Despite explaining my situation, the tech just didn't get it and ended up hanging up on me. It was both unprofessional and disrespectful, adding unnecessary stress to the whole ordeal. And if that wasn't enough, sorting out a replacement for the damaged part is turning into a long saga. Depending on who you talk to at Spencer's, you get different timelines ranging from 8-14 weeks. The lack of consistency and the hoops I'm jumping through just to fix a brand-new appliance are beyond frustrating. I wish I could give this location 0 stars. The sales part of the experience was professional and efficient, which would be the only reason for 1 star. Everything that came after the sale has pretty much been a never-ending nightmare. So, if you're thinking about buying from Spencer's, take my story as a heads-up. It's been quite the journey of poor service and dealing with a damaged appliance right out of the gate. I recently had my front load washer go out on me and was torn whether I should just purchase a new set or just the washer. I did the regular price shopping at best buy, Fry's, Sears, as well as Spencer's. Here's the thing, all of the prices are fairly consistent even though I did end up getting the best deal at Spencer,s. So the way I look at is your buying a relationship because you know you will be replacing them every 5-10 years. What separated the salesman (Richie Alvarez) at Spencer's from the rest is the amount of information he was able to provide whether it be what I actually needed in terms size, brand, capacity, ect. In addition, they were very knowledgeable about rebates and promotions which made me decide to go ahead with buying the Whirlpool set instead of just the washer. I feel the salespeople at Spencer's look at their position as a career rather than a temporary position for a student trying to supplement their income which shows much more pride in their customer service. It's also nice to know you can deal with that same person 5 years later if need be which says a lot about a company's capability of retaining their staff. Richie even took care of the tedious rebate form that no one ever finds time to actually do. I will definitely be returning to Spencer's when I'm ready to upgrade my kitchen next year. read more

Our 30-year old wash machine blew out the transmission and we went to Spencer's to look at replacements. They had a tremendous selection on the internet so we made our tentative selection and went in to the store to get a better feel for them. Turns out the one I selected (either 4.5 or 4.6 cubic feet capacity) my wife (5'4") couldn't reach the bottom of. We went with a similar model that was 3.8 cubic feet. Scheduled delivery was today, they contacted me several times to set the initial time range, then updated the schedule and ended up here early. Installation was a breeze... as I'd already moved the old one out of the way and had plumber install new water hookups... the hoses from the old one (30 years...) were rusted tight. So the delivery guys brought the new on right in, hooked it up, ran it thru the initial cleaning cycle and were out. Yes.... it helped that I was well prepared for them... but they were prompt/early, professional/courteous, and very carefull not to scratch the new machine or walls. We bought a refridgerator from them last year with the same experience. This consistency in wide selection, great pricing, and prompt/careful delivery is why we'll continue to shop with them. Next up... replace the 40-year old slide-in electric range... probably this fall. :) read more

We purchased a brand-new Electrolux washer in March 2025 and had been happy with its performance--until yesterday. While transferring a load from the washer to the dryer, I was shocked to see smoke billowing out of the washer drum, accompanied by a strong electrical fire smell. Thankfully, no fire occurred, but the potential was clearly there. This is extremely concerning for a machine that's just a few months old and still under warranty. I understand that manufacturing defects happen, but when a brand-new appliance poses a fire risk, it deserves urgent attention. Instead, I was told it would take a full week before anyone can even come out to inspect it. That delay is simply unacceptable. This isn't a minor inconvenience--it's a safety hazard involving expensive, newly purchased equipment. In cases like this, the response should be immediate. There should be protocols for rapid repair or replacement, especially when your appliance could be dangerous to operate. We expected better from Electrolux--not just in the build quality of the machine, but in the level of customer care when things go wrong. I sincerely hope Electrolux will address both this individual issue and the larger concern of how they prioritize service for serious warranty claims. read more

A little back story, my wife and I just bought our first home. Within a year we'd decided to buy a couple appliances, and went to Spencer's. The salesman was great, and treated us like people, not commissions! A week before our dishwasher and wash tower were to be delivered, there was mold found in our kitchen, which led to a six month nightmare with no kitchen to speak of. The day our kitchen was finished, almost 7 months later, the brand new sink and dishwasher were the last things to be installed.... and after everything the dishwasher was leaking. I was absolutely devastated. I called and spoke to the Spencer's store I bought them from fully expecting to never hear from them after telling them the story and being told I'd be called back. Not one hour later, the gentleman called me back asking when I'd be available to have my unit swapped with a new one. I was so shocked I wasn't going to have to argue with them I didn't know what to say. I've never experienced this level of customer service. In what could have been the icing on an already horrible situation, Spencer's blew me away. Not only will I be buying the rest of my appliances from Spencer's, but I'll also be referring everyone I know to them! Keep up the good work everyone! read more

I needed to buy appliances for my new home after relocating to Phoenix. I started at all of the usual palces (Best Buy, Lowes, Home Depot, Sears and Ultimate Electronics) as I soon found out all of them were the same they wanted me to buy what they had on sale and right away a friend told me about Spencers at Arrowhead so I went i. When i got there they were very busy but a polite salesman said someone would be with me in just a moment. I waited about 3 or 4 minutes and a salesman was there to help it was refreshing to have someone listen to your needs without wanting to pressure me into buying what they had on sale, he was polite, knowledgeable and a very good listener I purchased my new appliances at a lower price than the other stores sale items Wow! my neighbor was right when he said the only place in towm to shop is Spencers. Since my purchase I have reccomended them to several people including my mother who also bought and was very pleased. I highly reccomend Spencers to anyone, they are knowledgable, they have the best price and I also found out they are locally and family owned and operated so all the money spent there stays in Arizona. read more

My brother, who is disabled, lives in Lake Montezuma, Arizona. His refrigerator had gone out the week before Christmas. When he contacted me, and told me of the "No refrig", I contacted Home Depot and they were to deliver a refrig. The delivery date kept getting moved out farther and farther. Also HD would not move the old one, or disconnect it, or haul away the old one. I contacted Spencer's and the salesperson, Terrence Donner in the Arrowhead Store, he was very helpful in getting an appliance that would fit in the right place, he worked with us over the telephone and through texting and email to get the job done, he worked above and beyond, and although he tried his best to get it on a Monday delivery truck, and could not, he arranged for a special truck to deliver on Tuesday. My sister-in-law said they were very professional, the delivery driver Sergio was extremely helpful, kind, very professional. The crew hooked it all up, made sure it was running properly and hauled the old one away. 5 STARS, 10 STARS for the entire transaction, start to finish. Thanks so much for all of the SERVICE. We first went to Spencer's in early of Nov 2012 Chuck Lambert became our sales guy. with his help we got a dishwasher we had a few hick ups and Chuck preformed magic and all was taken care of . This took a little extra time but worth the wait. Now it is September 2013 our fridge went belly up and our washer and dryer are not preforming the way they should . So we went in to see Chuck again and again he was wonderful, kind,helpful, knowledgeable, and so pleasant besides that a trouble shooter. Why this mattered is the builder thought that women need a tiny space to do laundry. The regular washer took all but 18in to walk in front of them.. So he helped up to find some thing smaller but better in performance which is Asko . He even helped our electrician so he knew where to put the dryer connection and so on. Spencer's is willing to order appliances that are on on the floor and to stand behind them. what a nice treat after dealing with other companies. I have been buying appliances for over 47 years.
