Just moved to a house down the street from this deli so I couldn't wait to try it out. From the moment I walked in, there was a friendly welcoming into the shop. I enjoyed having a conversation with the man that I assume is the owner (though I didn't catch his name, sorry!) But you can tell he loves what he does and takes pride in his deli. He showed me around the shop and all of the cool things to eat! The diner itself is perfect for a quick bite, nice lunch or a takeout option for when you are on the run. I asked him to make me his best sub, and he did! He made me what is called the "Willy Green" which is a shaved steak sub with stuffed bana peppers and mayo...omg this thing is delicious. The only thing I would have changed is to add some heat to it. Like red pepper flakes or hit sauce, but that's a personal preference! They also hold events here which are great for networking and getting involved in the community. I'm so glad this will be a place I can, and will, frequent! read more

We have stopped by this deli many times and every time we do, the staff and owners have been so kind and friendly. They have a nice selection of deli foods, hot, pre-made and some grocery items. They have partnered with Donut Craze, so they now offer fresh and amazing donuts. We picked up red velvet this morning and they are delicious! I'd say they are not as heavy and overly sweet like Paula's doughnuts. So good. The deli recently opened a small diner next door but due to Covid, we haven't had a chance to eat there. We will stop by as soon as indoor dining is allowed again. Great little place and I highly recommend them! read more

We've only had the take-out fish fry, so this rating is a bit provisional. That said, my wife ordered and picked up our fish fries and reported that the service was very friendly despite the busyness of a Friday during Lent. It's nice when someplace appears ourwardly to want and value your business. The fish fry was a good value at $10.99 including 4 sides. The side salads were all homemade and flavorful, without being overwhelmed by mayonnaise. The fish itself was lightly battered and fresh. Very good fish. No rye bread or roll was included, if that's important to you. They do not appear to have a website or online menu, but are gaining customers through word-of-mouth. The printed menu that we brought home showed that they serve brick oven pizzas, subs and a few other selections. We wish them well and intend to return. read more

I started a job around the corner from here this week and the guys on my crew and i were looking for a lunch spot. We stumbled upon this deli on Tuesday and now I'm hooked. We walked in and the staff couldn't have been friendlier, explaining the daily special to us (corned beef brisket sandwich). My dude and i both ordered it thinking it sounded good. It was SO GOOD. The meat was soft, delicate, and had a little bit of a smoky flavor to it it was served on a white Constanta roll, fresher than could be. You can pick your own toppings, and i opted for Swiss cheese, banana peppers and mayo. It was a bangin sandwich. It was so good we went back yesterday. I got a turkey club that cane with chips. Awesome turkey club. I also got a fancy apple soda that tickled my taste buds. And so good that we went this morning for breakfast. I got a sausage egg and cheese that ranks among the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Definitely top five, likely top three. Nicely spiced sausage patty, with a freshly fried egg, cheddar cheese, on a costanzo roll with a perfectly crispy potato pancake sandwiched there. It was bomb. I'll probably come here every day, i can't even lie. Next week i gotta try the brick oven pizza. So that's not optional, I'll be back! read more

Was driving through Lancaster on way to party. Stopped at Side Door Deli and had a breakfast sandwich and Beef on Weck. The service was amazing. The owner (presumed) told us stories of a WW2 veteran that frequented the Deli. He passed and his seat was dedicated to him with his picture and a sandwich named for him. The owner spoke of the dedication to his customers and community. The entire experience was interesting and enjoyable. Highly recommend stopping by. read more

This place is a hidden gem in the community. The owner is the reason the place is so special. He is a classically trained chef who will teach you about cooking as he serves you delicious fare. We have visited the Side Door Diner for breakfast and recently hosted a graduation party for 50+ guests. Everyone raved about the quality of the food and especially the service. The Deli has obscure items that cannot be found anywhere else. And, many of those items are used in the various dishes which provide a very unique flavor experience. read more

This a great place with high quality home made food. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Bob who I believe is the owner. He told me about their delicious home made options. I ate some amazing perogies and was continuously checked on by staff to make sure everything was satisfactory. This place is an absolute GEM! They have tons of specialty products, they make their own pasta fresh, their breakfast sandwiches are out of this world, they have en extensive actual deli and then a huge list of daily special entrees that they make from scratch (breaded pork chops, ribs, fish frys) and if all that delicious food weren't enough, the staff is just about the friendliest people you'll ever meet. This is place is amazing. The owner is very helpful and friendly. I love the meals they serve hot and make fresh in house! You can purchase large sides and I love doing so when I'm in a pinch and need to make dinner. For example I had some extra cheese, and I stopped in there wanting to make pizza for dinner. They had hot pulled pork and I purchased some and they even had homemade dough in the freezer, next thing you know I have my pizza! It may not seem like much but I'm not lying when I say it was the most delicious pulled pork I've ever had in my life. I live about two minutes from Tops on Broadway, I still always manage to pick the side door deli week after week. It's great to support local business during a time like this but the reward of how amazing their food is, totally worth it! Lastly, I also heard they are expanding the side of the deli into a fresh donut shop and a diner that will serve homemade breakfast as early as 6AM!
