Panera is always great! That said, there is always room for improvement. Some things I noticed. 1. I subbed out my baguette for a bagel and was assured it would be on my plate with my you-pick-two, it was, however, my soup was there and my sandwich was missing. When I asked about it, my sandwich was swiftly made and it was SO GOOD. 2. Everyone there was extremely kind and friendly. The food was great and everyone was accommodating. 3. It was clean, and other than the one slip-up everything seemed to run efficiently. Most of the baked goods were gone, which told me that they had had a really busy day. This Panera Bread location is my secondary-Sip-Club-stop home. It is near my preferred Walmart, so I stop in whenever I'm doing a grocery pick-up at the Transit Walmart that is kitty-corner across the street. This Panera is in the Target plaza lot, with plenty of parking. Sip Club ordering is easy, with app ordering, self-service screens, or you can give your phone number to the cashier if preferred. Then it's just grab your cup, fill as preferred, and go. If you are unfamiliar with Panera Sip Club, it is $10.99 per month for unlimited self-serve hot or cold beverages (every two hours). This includes hot drip coffee and tea, as well as any cold fountain drinks, which includes soda, seltzer, several iced teas, and iced coffee. With beverages regularly priced at over $3 for a large, if you get four drinks in a month, you are getting your money's worth. We stop in for Sip Club most days, sometimes more than once a day, so we definitely make our subscriptions work for us! (My husband has Sip Club, too.) This Panera is in a great location- convenient for my post-Target trips. :) There's free wifi and the tables get cleaned regularly. For being a Saturday, it was well staffed so they line went quickly and our food came out quickly too. I ordered the Pick 2- half turkey, apple, and cheddar sandwich with a bowl of squash soup- yum! The sandwich is served cold. It has thick pieces of turkey breast, very thin slices of apple, and served with white cheddar on very tasty cranberry bread. At first impression I didn't think it was going to be that good but happy I was wrong, it hit the spot. The squash soup with baguette was also super tasty. I also had an ice tea. I came ravenous while doing some Saturday morning errands. I created my breakfast sandwich and I wouldn't recommend it. They were very skimpy on the meat for one and secondly the egg and cheese! I guess when there are two soufflé left you should probably just go for one of those. Lesson learned. The bagel is delicious but the ingredients scarce. Maybe they have to weight the meat, egg and cheese? I did hear a girl say I got the last egg white...maybe it wasn't a full serving? I tried the Rapid Pick-Up feature yesterday and it worked quite well. You can access the function through your Yelp app with ease, and it's super-mega-volcano-exploding-awesome. I ordered chicken noodle soup (sick wife) as my trial run. Not only was it super easy and fast but I think they even made the soup with an extra helping of love (awwww). I don't recommended you attempt to order Rapid Pick-Up while you're driving towards Panera's on the highway like I did. In other words, the "rapid" in Rapid Pick-Up means how rapidly you get your food when you arrive at the restaurant, and not how rapidly you're moving towards Panera's in your car. The drive thru can be avoided at all costs now with Rapid Pick-Up. Anyways, I'm The Duke of Panera's now, so you can start referring to me as "His Majesty" all you college student study groups, yoga enthusiasts, high school girl's water polo teams and the woman who picks her elderly mother up from the retirement home for her monthly take-mom-out-to-lunch day. Panera is a nice place for a coffee and a snack. I don't and have never thought anything here is amazing but it's always consistent albeit rather expensive . Their kitchen sink cookies are awesome though that's a fact! Staff are always very friendly and they've got a nice selection of drinks, soups, sandwiches, and salads. They've also got Wi-Fi and I frequently used to come here to do school work or study. So yeah nice place and always consistent and solid. read more

If you're tired of women, then hang on, we'll be entering a "Man Era" soon. Actually I hope not. I haven't tried the food at this particular location, but their hot drinks are just okay. I'm not a fan of their coffee, and the mint tea I got was a little weird-tasting. I prefer the mint tea at Starbucks, although in general I like Panera much better. I've been to this location twice, as far as I can remember. Both times I got tea, and used wifi - or tried to. So I wasn't a big fan of this Panera. Their Wifi didn't work too well, and they weren't as friendly and comfortable as the one on Transit. Still, it's a cute little chain. Shameful. Went here this evening around 8:00pm after driving home for 10 hours from a trip. Ordered the Pick 2, with a Napa Almond Chicken Salad Sandwich. First, I was told that they were out of the bread that the sandwich typically comes with. That's fine, I was offered some alternative options. Then, they were out of the baguette bread that usually accompanies the Pick 2. Again, fine. I received a bag of chips instead. After receiving my order to go, I drove home only to find a nasty, disgraceful surprise. The sandwich was piled high with lettuce (way more than usual) to provide fake height to the sandwich and disguise the fact that there was literally a teaspoon of chicken salad on the bread. Actually, that's misleading. There was actually no chicken in the salad but merely mayo and nuts. If you didn't have enough chicken salad and were too lazy to make more, just tell me and I would have selected a different sandwich. Shameful behavior by the employee and reflective of a restaurant that is poorly run. Disgraceful. I will never go to this place again. See the picture below. read more

The cream cheese spreads are good as well...Regular is fine but I also like to get the Onion/Chive or the Hazelnut spread, mmm. One thing is I always ask to get my bagel Double Toasted...It does not come out black either....If you get regular toasted it is hardly toasted, and probably won't even be warm by the time you eat it.....I've been ordering like this for months now. This is a good place for dinner with a toddler because there is no waiting at all. My 3 year old loves having a yogurt tube and chicken noodle soup. I am a big fan of the Green Goddess salad. Their food is fresh and tasty, but I think it can be a little bit on the salty side. One place this location could improve is having the food brought out to the table like the Niagara Falls Boulevard location does. I know that sounds snobby, but, since they don't have trays, I have to make 3 trips from the counter to the table, weaving around other customer and trying not to spill stuff. Not a deal breaker. The portion looked smaller than what I expected but I was full after finishing the entire bowl. Very flavorful and delicious! I love Panera. They have fresh baked sandwiches and pastries that taste amazing. They also do catering. I like that they also have a rewards program MyPanera that rewards you with coupons and freebies that automatically load on your card. Their mango smoothies are the best I've ever had. YES! My daughter picks up from this particular location when I'm in the mood for their soups, which tends to be often. Yesterday I ordered my regular, a bowl of low fat veggie with pesto, and at the time of pick my daughter was informed that there was only enough soup for a cup...to make up for this heinous transgression they provided a gratis bowl of Sonoma Chicken Stew. I looked at what I presumed to be an inferior replacement and said - meh, who needs that creamy crap. Then I tried it...WOW! What taste, what body! And to make it even better the stew came with a cheesy biscuit!! For a chain establishment, the soups - and chicken stew - are mighty tasty. Now I move on to the breads. I have never had a "bad" bread from Panera. I like the sourdough aspect of their breads and by and large, the breads get eaten - which might explain the "muffin top" I am now sporting. I ordered two breads I never would have ordered previously, simply for a change. The chocolate/pecan babka - not really a bread or a pastry - but an eggy delight. I am more of a savory indulger and I must admit..this sucker was tasty. A month ago I would have told anyone who cares to listen that chocolate has no place at the breakfast table. Now I recant. My second bread, tomato basil topped with streusel, was a shocker. The flavors of the tomato and basil are artfully combined into a harmonious loaf that screams "eat me!". The topping, which I thought initially was stupid, just pulled together all the different flavors/textures with a mild sweetness/crunch. This is my first time visiting this particular Panera. I picked up bagel pack (13 bagels w/ two cream cheeses) and an iced chai latte. It was about 20 bucks for everything which isn't extremely high, but didn't impress me either. The chai tea was dinky and has an odd aftertaste to me. I've gotten chai lattes at a million different places and none have ever tasted like the one I got today. Why? support local businesses. And id certainly choose paulas donuts over panera. D&L and eagles bakerys. Granted Panera has brand chain muscle to back them up but they can't complete with the local hometown bake goods throughout the heart of buffalo. If you prefer the chains over the locals go for it! It just baffles me that they go gluten free but the people who NEED to be gluten free can't eat it because it's not safe. This place was my beacon of hope during the heatwave. Between the air conditioning and unlimited iced tea, I managed to escape my very warm apartment and enjoy some reading. Overall, I think Panera does a good job on food for the most part. I do find some of their items somewhat salty to my palate, especially the soups. The sandwiches are tasty but small, but the items that I do like outweigh the ones I can skip. I really like the salads, especially the Asian Sesame, BBQ Chopped Chicken, and Steak & Blue Cheese Chopped. The mac and cheese is also very good and I often would get half a salad/half mac and cheese in the winter. They also have some nice pastries, though it would be nice to offer some that aren't so exorbitant in calories. All the cookies are 400+ calories. That cinnamon crunch bagel toasted with butter is like 600+, but it is really tasty. They do assortments with cream cheeses and boxes of coffee to go. I called a day ahead to pick up early before my friend's wedding and they had it all ready through the drive out window so I could get on with my day. Coffee is usually very good, and I especially like their iced coffee. Lots of flavor and they keep it cold so I don't end up with lukewarm coffee with melted ice. All staff I have encountered have been helpful and courteous. Their drive thru in the AM is not up to the speed of a Tim Horton's. I have been the only person in line pre 7am at they still take quite a while as they are getting ready for the morning rush and baking things up. Panera card gives out good discounts. It is more prevalent once you first get it, but I usually get $1 off of something each month. Inside, they have lots of tables and areas to sit, though sometimes they are a little close together as it isn't as big as other stores. They have some nice comfy chairs and 2 person booths in the back corner, but they stuck an extra 4-top table in the area so there is no room to use the chairs. read more
