I told her the insurance company I have and gave her my policy/member number. She told me their office does accept my insurance, so I was excited. I waited 4 weeks for an appointment. I pulled my daughter out of school and took her to the consult, did her photos, x-rays, reviewed the images with the doctor, etc. At the end of it all, come to find out, they don't take my insurance after all. The lady who goes over the finance part of everything already knew that they didn't take my insurance before I even showed up for the appointment. It was in her paperwork. Very inconsiderate to be so wasteful of someone's time, especially knowing I pulled my daughter out of class for this appointment AND I had to leave work for this. They had 4 weeks to call me ahead of time to inform me that they don't take my insurance, and they didn't. The lady at the front desk should have some additional training because she gave me wrong information.

After these appointments, we felt like using Damon braces would provide the best treatment for our daughter. The place that had recommended these was pretty pricey, so we scheduled a final appointment with Dr. Carr who, without our input, recommended the same treatment plan we had already decided was best. Even better, his prices were much more in line with our budget. That's two stars already. From the moment we scheduled our first consultation until she got her braces off, Dr. Carr has been patient and informative throughout the whole process. He is very personable and kind with our preteen daughter. That's another star. His staff are all super friendly and encouraging. Every time I've been there people have welcomed my daughter by name and have been friendly and warm. When she's been anxious or scared about something, other assistants have chimed in "you got this!" or "it really won't hurt - you'll be fine!" which has definitely helped my daughter through some of the scarier moments with braces. That's another star. Finally, his plan worked. My daughter's smile looks great and her teeth look healthier than ever. He seems to have successfully prepped her jaw for the upcoming onslaught of more adult teeth. We feel confident that she's in way better shape now than before. Mind you I've had my braces since 2023. They quoted me to be finished at 18 months now it's 2026 and now they also want to bring up that since I am over. By the time he started drilling his teeth the lidocaine wore off and my son could feel it. Dr. Fisher told him he can't work on a moving target and I jumped out of my chair and asked him if the lidocaine wore off because he's acting like he can feel it. After yelling at my son for not staying still he decided to give him some more lidocaine. He told me I need to take him to a pediatric dentist so I told him my sons regular dentist just passed away and I called 1-800- DENTIST and they told me he did work on children . So he tells me most children aren't this bad. I think he was pretty good for getting his teeth drilled with no numbing medicine. It wears off in like two hours. We got there at 11 and I took a picture of him sleeping at 1:10. He finally came in and worked on him at about 1:45 and finished about 2:30. I would have left but my son was up at 2 am crying because his tooth hurt and I knew I wouldn't find someone else to see him that day. My husband just had his thyroid taken out. We're talking surgery here, and it didn't take 3.5 hours.

The team was very personal able and answered all of my questions. I got my teeth cleaned and they took the time to highlight all the positive things and explain why they did what they did. I want to say it was Camille and Dr Jared. I was grateful that my self maintenance did a great job and have healthy teeth and they proudly honored that instead of trying to scare me into coming more regular. When it came time to leave , the checkout lady, Jodi , made sure I understood how insurance was covering what and what my obligation was and why. I asked the same question a few times because it didn't click and she gracefully made sure I was confident in what I understood. I also have interest in removing my amalgam filling and replacing it with a porcelain crown and Jodi made sure I understood all the ins and out of payment for that. Only concern I had was after my first x rays taken that I had to bite down on, I didn't see it cleaned before or after and that made me feel weird about the cleanliness of the whole office. When I arrived after taking some time off of work I had to wait 25-30 minutes after my scheduled appt. when they called me back I had 18 xrays done inside my mouth. I have NEVER had that many done. After the X-ray the doctor finally did my exam (super nice guy). I than found out I had to schedule ANOTHER appt for my cleaning that I had thought I had scheduled for the same day like most dentists do. I came back the next day and was put through hell. The older hygienist was super rude! She "cleaned" my teeth in 10 - 15 minutes! She was rough and it was the most painful cleaning I have ever had. It felt like she was in a race and had to fill a quota. She made rude comments about my mouth the whole time.
