Furthermore I was a little concerned that this eval would turn into a "buy a full financial plan from me" type of thing. This was not the case with Daniel at all. He asked a lot of great questions, he took a lot of notes and gave me a great idea of where I'm at in my financial planning adventure. For me, I've done a lot myself and he was great to bounce ideas of things that I have been thinking or what I can do better. We both agreed that it probably wasn't time for me to dive all in to a full financial plan due to where I am at in my life and what I have been doing on my own. He was forthcoming in that he doesn't think that, at this moment, he would add significant amount more value to what I have already done on my own. He recommended that he can be available to bounce ideas off of in an hourly fashion. To me this is huge. I was half-expecting to not get any ideas/thoughts without signing up for a full financial plan. That Daniel walked through all my finances and gave me great ideas and recommendations. Then for him to say that I probably don't need him 100% of the time shows that he tries to understand his clients first rather than try to just take money from them.
