This was by far the smoothest and fastest loan process I've had. I was referred to Amanda Kolman by family who recently worked with her in the past. From the first phone call, Amanda was extremely friendly and professional. She made things easy to understand and helped make this a stress-free process. Having not done a HELOC before, I had a lot of questions! Amanda was very responsive over text messaging, answering all my questions in a timely manner. Immediate communication access to your loan officer like that is what I think sets apart this company from the big lenders. Waste of time getting hopes up. I started with a simple question. Will you loan for a debt consolidation with a projected DTI of 56%? They said yes, we can figure something out. After they checked my credit and being turned down, I asked why. They said my credit score was good but the DTI would be 56%. I said I told them that to start with, so why the deception and games. They said that most people don't really know their DTI so they figured I was wrong. Thanks for getting my hopes up, smashing them down, and insinuating I was an idiot. As you can see from a projected DTI of 56% I really needed help and have been able to keep a good credit score with a much higher DTI. Don't be jerks, don't assume, and don't lead people on. Unfortunately, we didn't have a good experience with this company recently. Somehow they botched closing our original loan for our 2nd and it costs us having to pay for additional interest on a 100,000 loan. They were also simultaneously handling a new purchase and that fell through after we had already paid to get repairs done, there was not much communication from them. It's too bad because we previously had a good experience with them, specifically Scott Alley, he's great. I think the company might have been bought over, but we won't be going with them any longer. They did nothing to help us after they messed up. read more

Chris was very informative, patient and professional in working with me regarding my interest in a home equity loan/home equity line of credit. He was almost always available and quick to get back to me when not immediately available, and very quick in sending me the specifics of other rate and cost scenarios that I was interested in. I eventually went with my own credit union because they offer an amazing HELOC product with no closing costs and other excellent features, but would have welcomed the opportunity to work with Chris on my loan if Summit's costs and rates had been more competitive. I highly recommend Chris for your loan if pursuing a loan with Summit. I'm a 73 yr old Vietnam Veteran, who was funded today (deposited in my bank) for a Heloc Equity loan. I was entertained by no less than three other reputable lenders. I was either denied, or for days we went thru different scenarios on how to qualify for a loan, from Heloc to a total refinance of my VA loan , at its current 2.7 interest rate. It was way too much for this Vet to swallow. 2 1/2 weeks ago I saw an ad for Summit Lending. distraught with what had just happened, with the other lenders, I called Summit at (Night) I left a message. The very next morning, I received a text, saying that Mr. David Garcia, Senior Loan Officer would be helping me in my quest for securing a loan. I soon found Mr Garcia to be a very professional well informed Loan Officer. very patient at my medical needs, hard of hearing, plenty of PTSD to go around. I know its hard to deal with me, but Mr. Danny Garcia hung in there with me, explaining the different types of funding, and the after funding as well. as a customer you want to feel as if you won the battle, I felt good to have Mr. Garcia show no interest in making the deal for his own profit , but to make me completely understand the process. Unbelievably unprofessional! Senior Loan Officer Chris Boulos pretty much ghosted us after applying for a HELOC in May 2024. No decision, no explanation, no callback. We might not have qualified for it despite high FICO scores, but we at least deserved an explanation for the denial from Boulos. It smacks of discrimination on some level, breaking all trust.
