He quickly passed the buck and told me the damage is between me and a delivery company. He gave me a card with a phone number and told me work with them. He had no interest in helping me with this situation. I have no idea how he can keep a job as a store manager.

On sale it was $1600, and we had some extra cash so we went for it. To say my expectations were exceeded is an understatement. This is the most beautifully crafted piece of furniture I've ever laid eyes on. We were in awe of the gear structure for the leaf insertion. The finish is just stunning - a soft satin, and it is smoother than anything I've ever felt. My husband assembled it in 20 minutes - he just had to attach the feet to the base and the top to the pedestal. When raised, you can barely see the seam for the leaves. This will be an heirloom piece that will hopefully stay in our family for years. When I had questions, my emails were replied to quickly. The delivery team was great and we even had a personal cell phone to contact them during delivery. It is also very satisfying to support hand-crafted furniture made in the USA. I know this price point is not available to everybody, but if you can - I would highly recommend them.

The finished product was as smooth as velvet. My friends were so impressed! I am currently choosing everything for a new coffee table and end tables. Rodney made an especially hard sell on the mattress protector (relative to his extremely hard sell on the mattress (which was an extremely hard sell, in itself)), again, ranting about how "that chinese crap you buy online" is totally and completely inferior to their high quality, made in america, etc. brand of mattress protectors. Unless you buy one of their mattress protectors you do not receive the ten year warranty, and because I was unsure about the long term durability of a mystery memory foam mattress, I paid $90 for one of their store brand mattress protectors. More than a month later, in my new apartment, while three different moving companies worth of men are setting up my bed frame and mattress, what do I see on the mattress protector package? The generic product that I have since learned is $50 cheaper online? Made in China. The salesperson, Rodney lied directly to my face about the products he sold me. Guess who I won't be recommending to my friends? America's Mattress of Rochester, staffed by rat faced liars like Rodney. Spend your money elsewhere. Somewhere where they won't lie through their smiling teeth.

Prior to the service plan expiring, the motor died on my unit. I called customer services and have been waiting 3 months for replacement parts. First, they called telling me they gave the part to another customer. Then, I had to wait 1.5 months to be rescheduled. THEN, the only time the technicians could come to my home was when I was busy at work. Today I tried to reschedule and was told there are no techs that cover Rochester and I would have to wait for them to hire someone before my furniture could be fixed.

Other model "beds" were advertised at $hundreds savings. After a half hour, when we put pen to paper, we found that the "bed" pricing was not for a bed - it was for the mattress only, which also includes a pump. So the midrange queen size "bed" is $2899. But wait, if you want the complete "bed," base and mattress, add another $1899. Add another $199 for home delivery and sales tax and the total bill is just under $5100. The $5100 is for the complete bed, not just a mattress. If they are going to advertise their "bed" prices at a certain dollar figure, and that price is actually a "mattress only," the price they quote should state MATTRESS ONLY. We went into the store thinking we might be willing to pay up $3000 for a decent bed - the whole bed - but not $5000. I actually did find the Sleep Number bed to be comfortable, and they give you time to home test it, so I probably would have made the purchase while we were in the store, but I find their practice to be a bit on the side of bait and switch.

Ashleys has reasonably high quality furniture and prices that are cheaper than the highest end stores. If you have a Mayo Clinic ID, you get an additional 35% discount on most things; this is a huge discount! Delivery is a single fee per visit and is irrespective of how many items you have handled. The staff are friendly and I believe work on commission so we tried to stick to the same person who initially greeted us (Hanna) and she was very nice about answering questions and helping us find the furniture that is right for us without trying to sell us on more expensive things. She struck a great balance, and I'm sure her colleagues would do the same.
