On day 4 of that 5 day window with no communication we got worried as we were leaving on a plane for CA. After repeated calls and having to escalate the situation and a lot of anger from me, we were finally assigned a carrier who would be picking up the car 2 days after the original agreed upon window. We had to arrange a friend to send the car off which was a pain. The car headed west on a Friday and we were told it would be delivered on Monday. Yay! Nope. Monday afternoon got a call that the truck broke and we'd have to wait. Ok... how long.... They didn't know but would be in touch. The next day we called, truck still broken. The next day we called them. No news, truck still broken. We gave it two more days and called again. Mind you all this communication came from us not the company. We were finally told that the hydraulic system had failed and so our car was stranded (it was on the top of the carrier). But they still had no timeline. Sigh. At this point we were renting a car to get to work. Called again the next day and after much anger finally were told the car was coming that evening. What time we asked? They didn't know... What?!? We then asked about the final payment because we felt some give needed to happen. The dispatcher said they'd call customer service and get back to us. They didn't. We called later in the day but they were now closed. The car was finally delivered at 9:00 pm. We ended up arguing with the driver in the middle of the road over the final balance. Not ok but they also NEVER contacted us. Like ever. We always called them. Montway is a broker. They don't actually transport your vehicle. So if something goes wrong you're left dealing/arguing/disputing with the random person they got to move your car. What a nightmare! Go with a company that actually does the moving, not a broker. Lesson learned.

The reason for the 4 stars rating is because they failed to provide the service that was clearly promised. PROBLEM #1: First of all, late pickup AND late delivery. Never promised specific dates,and I was alright with that, but never did I ever anticipate on my car being picked up 3 days late and delivered 2 days late. My representative assigned the driver in an hour,but I believe the pickup was delayed because of him. Although it was his fault he was very apologetic when he finally arrived to pick up my car. His excuse was that he had many late customers, but really... 3 days late!? C'mon!! & on top of everything the delivery was delayed because of road issues & traffic. PROBLEM #2: Talk about poor communication!! The driver was too busy or lazy to even return my calls. I called maybe 5 times and left messages each time and got nothing in return!! I believe I received a total of 2 calls from the driver, once when he was picking up my vehicle and once when he delivered my car. That's it!!! It would have been better if he would have returned at least one call while in the middle of delivery to assure me that my car was OK! PROBLEM #3: My car was delivered in extreme filth! I understand it's been shipped in an open carrier, but I didn't even recognize my car, that's how dirty it was!! Outrageous!It was dirty inside & outside, and all of the leather seats had mud on them. Basically I'm going to say this: DO NOT expect perfect results because nobody can do it, so choose whoever can do the job the best. Overall I was pleased with the results because my car arrived undamaged, but it was waaaay too much for me to handle. Too stressful and nerve racking to say the least!!
