Traveling through town and found this place. Opened at 11 and we were one of the first to arrive. Pleasant wait staff courteous and friendly. Asked for a recommendation and was not disappointed. Hubby had boom boom po boy with Cajun fries. Delicious. I had boom boom shrimp tacos hush puppies and coleslaw. Was fantastic and plenty of shrimp could only eat 2 of the 3 tacos. Perfect place to stop on the way to/from the beach. Found this place while planning a trip back from the gulf to Jackson MS. Stopping in Mobile is always a pain, and Hattiesburg feels so close to home that you don't want to stop. Lucedale seemed like a perfect place for a pit stop and lunch, but there were not a lot of options. You don't need other options. This place is fantastic. Wife had the shrimp tacos and I had the seafood pasta. Better than a lot of the seafood we had on the coast. Great place to go with kids. Very reasonably priced for the amount and quality of food. Recently undergone extensive remodel. New owners. Very cute small cafe with limited seating. Located in olde downtown Lucedale surrounded by that small town atmosphere featuring many fun shops within walking distance. We ordered burgers to go and they were fresh handmade patties dressed with the works. Also enjoyed their baked potato baked to perfection. While on our way from SW Mississippi to Pensacola I was searching for a lunch stop in between Hattiesburg and Mobile, and was delighted to find something slightly off the beaten path that wasn't fast food, a chain, or greasy/deep-fry (nothing wrong with that once in a while, but I was hoping for more variety and an option that wouldn't sit heavy during the rest of our drive). Was immediately drawn to Landmark's modern take on the rustic look and was pleased to see this Main Street eatery bustling with the weekday lunch crowd, but with enough seats for the 6 of us (4 adults and two children). We were promptly seated upstairs and brought drinks almost immediately. Our server was friendly, warm, attentive, and efficient throughout the meal, and accommodated any requests with a cheerful attitude. The menu looked fantastic and had everything from well-rounded salad options to hearty burgers and po'boys, classic southern sides to seafood dishes featuring Cajun elements. Our food came out in a reasonable timeframe and was served up in larger portions than I expected (but I'm from the West Coast so I'm always a bit surprised at the portions in the Deep South!). I'd been craving blackened fish tacos since I'd arrived in Mississippi and Landmark delivered, with 3 flour tortilla tacos brimming with their 'Redneck Caviar' (black-eyed peas, corn, tomatoes, and onions), lettuce, a decent-sized fillet of blackened Cajun fish (catfish I'm assuming?), and topped off with their Comeback sauce (somewhat akin to a Cajun remoulade). The tacos were fantastic! Filling, flavorful, with just enough spice to make your mouth water, but not overpowering in the least. The dish also came with two sides so I ordered the mac n' cheese and slaw. I had ordered the sautéed zucchini and yellow squash side with my daughters' meal (club sandwich and side split between the two of them who are 4.5 and 2) and it was definitely my favourite of the 3. My daughters really enjoyed their meal as did my husband (who ordered the Landmark burger fully loaded and topped with crawfish tails) and my in-laws, who also orders burgers with sides of sweet potato fries and grits with cheese. My only disappointment was that I didn't have room enough for dessert. All three desserts looked fantastic! Overall, this was exactly the kind of experience I hoped we would have when I chose Landmark for lunch, and with it's reasonable prices, flavorful food, diverse selection, and friendly atmosphere, I would highly recommend it to locals and anyone passing through. Just passing through on our way to Gulf Shores. Randomly chose this restaurant on Yelp. We were not disappointed! The building was built in 1917. Very quaint, lots of character. But more importantly, it was very clean, bathroom was updated with a baby changing station. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed.
