About an hour before my removal they bring in pills and say this is a pill form of anesthesia (that is not a thing). My body doesn't take medicine very well and I always need a high dose of any medication I take and after the first set of meds he gave me didn't work and I was still completely awake he brings in more. Was not told the name of anything but was told it's Anastasia in pill form. I was awake for all of it because I was not giving any form of Anastasia and was given sleeping medicine. I am on sleeping medicine because I have ADHD and it take forever for me to sleep at night. The dr that prescribes my sleeping medicine stopped it and told me it sounds like you where actually overdosed on what ever medication they gave you and now my body goes back into that state of shock when I take any form of sleeping medicin. I called about 4 days after the surgery saying sum is wrong and was guilt tripped for 45 minutes. I can't drink Gatorade with the stomach issues and GERD I have. I went to the hospital for throwing up for three days straight and popping my stitches and the dentist said drink Gatorade. It settles Your stomach because of the surgery drink it is. Explaining I can't drink dyed drinks of any kind and especially not red he just kept saying drink Gatorade. Trying to word it differently and doing anything I could go maybe get him to understand I can't he just kept talking over me. Also later on told me it was sleeping medicine I was given and not what I paid for. In the parking lot the day I got my tooth out the receptionist was very rough and mad my wife needed help and more gauze because I threw up and grabbed my face n jammed my jaw shut. When my wife talked to her to ask a question she walked away and wouldn't answer her question if they have a throw up bag for the ride home. Terrible place and terrible owner.

But I got a second opinion and that dentist, doing further tests, confirmed that the cavity could be filled. Left me wondering why this dentist did not do the additional tests, which consisted of an x-ray and a cold test - nothing fancy - before concluding that the tooth needed to be pulled and replaced with an implant.

I should have known then to walk away but I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. 2nd appointment two months later was for the tooth repair. Scheduled for 8am. I arrive and the desk tells me my appointment is at noon. Which it wasn't. It was scheduled for 8am precisely so that I did not have to take time out of my day. Somehow they managed to "squeeze me in" and the dental work was quite good. Worthy of another "chance", so we scheduled my annual cleaning, first available in 6 months. 3rd appointment. After waiting 6 months, just 15mins before the appointment, the desk called to state that if I didn't bring X-rays with me from a prior practice that I would have to pay out of pocket for the X-ray. What X rays are needed for a Cleaning?!! There must something wrong, I scheduled a cleaning 1/2 a year ago, not X-rays: "sir its office policy to do a consultation with all appointments". Well I had a consultation when I wanted to get a filling. "Sir that was a basic evaluation, you need a full assessment" ... this sounds like a ploy to over charge insurance. "Sir you'll have to pay out of pocket without your prior Rays." I do not want X-rays, I'm here for a cleaning. Also, did you think to tell me at any point during the prior 6 MONTHS that these were needed? Why wait until the hour of unless you only intend to squeeze every penny from my pocket. So I left. In less than 20 mins I scheduled an appointment next week with Canton Dental for a cleaning. Unless you too enjoy wasting months of your life, and overpaying for services you did not consent to, Avoid this practice. Just don't even start the process. Look elsewhere.

I never worked with Dr. Mastella, only a couple of his associates over the years. However, since working with Dr. Jackson-George, I've been extremely pleased. Dr. Jackson-George and her current staff are amazing! From the front desk to the exam room, the pleasantries and professionalism abounds. Dr. Jackson-George is attentive, knowledgeable, and METICULOUS about all of the work from teeth cleaning to fillings. She also did my veneers after having my braces removed. The receptionist kept calling my Carolyn even though my name is printed on all the electronic forms. This is really frustrating. I unknowingly was booked with a technician. Not only was she overagressive with use of a huge steel dental pick around my gum line and scraping areas that were sensitive she was heavily pregnant and kept putting her stomach on either my shoulder or head during the exam. That is totally inappropriate to touch a patient like that. Also the last time I was there for a repair (I had a weird chip on my front tooth) Dr Bakir fixed it with something called a film and not bonding. It literally looks clear. That was also inappropriate. I probably will end up scheduling elsewhere next time.

Absolute BUTCHER. I…read moreset up appointments for my whole family after reading the good reviews (there are only 3, and now that makes sense. I suspect they are either fake or sponsored). My first appointment was supposed to be for intake - Xrays, etc. - and a cleaning. They only did the Xrays and rescheduled me for the cleaning. Unprofessional start, but whatever. Then today I arrived to my 2pm appointment on time and the "cleaning" started at 2:50pm. Annoying, but it's a dental appointment. Not a huge deal. Now, onto the torture. Right off the bat Dr. Nicole Stewart-Joseph was incredibly passive aggressive, mocking me for using the napkin they put around your neck to spit out some excess mouthwash the dental assistant gives you. Then tells me alright I'm going to be cleaning your gums and it's going to hurt. Weird, but ok sure it's always a little uncomfortable. Then she proceeds to absolutely obliterate my gums with undeniably excessive force using the needle hook tool, while yelling at me to stop moving. I'm not squirmy at all with pain, but this was unbearable and I couldn't help but keep reflexively flinching - and all the while she's yelling "I warned you, I warned you!" You should know I'm a 35 year old male who's had 1-2 cleanings every year since I was a child. I know what a cleaning feels like. So at this point I'm like what is actually happening right now, and try to mumble to let her know we need to take a break. She continues without hesitation, yelling at me to stop talking, stop moving, and that it's my fault for not brushing my gums well enough. I brush my teeth *and gums* twice every single day. I've actually been told in the past I brush my gums TOO hard and had to dial it back in the past. So, my gums are more than tough enough for a regular cleaning. I know what it feels like to have a painful cleaning because you haven't brushed or flossed enough - this was absolutely not that. So 10 minutes into this "procedure" I'm now choking on my own blood and spit because she's not even suctioning anymore, just yelling at me. So I had to physically get out of the chair, remove the napkin necklace, and speedwalk out of there like I was escaping a Game of Thrones torture scene. Absolutely insane. I'm home now still shaking in disbelief this happened. There is absolutely no reason a cleaning should be THAT painful - all while a medical professional is yelling "It's your fault!" and "I warned you!". Spare yourself and find a different dentist.

I don't trust any dentists except Deveas! My family has been going to him for a long time and he…read more(and his staff) has always been wonderful. I am always greeted by name at the front desk and Dr. Deveas always asks detailed questions about my family. I don't know how he remembers these details about my family given that he has many other patients! I had an unexpected bad reaction to local anesthesia (vasovagal syncope) during a dental procedure and they consistently checked in with me for the next few days following the procedure. They didn't have to do this as my bad reaction was only temporary, but they genuinely cared enough to call outside of work hours to check in. Sadly, my company's insurance provider switched and I am no longer able to go to Deveas. I went to a new dentist who said I have a cavity that can apparently be seen in my xrays from 9 months ago taken by Deveas. Although I am no longer a patient at Deveas, they took the time to check my more recent xrays for me (taken only 4 months ago) and verified that I do not, and have never had, a cavity. Other dentists may try to suggest unnecessary procedures to get money. Deveas is honest and genuinely cares about his patients. I can not recommend him enough!
