Bathroom with hair dryer and sink has a filter switch for "clean" water but that spout doesn't work.

So like any other military based "hotels" it's a bit outdated. I can tell that they tried to spruce up the place but it still lacks. The rooms comes with a decent size mini fridge with a little freezer which is nice to keep snacks drinks inside. They have a microwave and a mini coffee/hot water maker. Rooms come with iron and iron board and the light fixtures have a place to plug in your charger for your phone/laptop. Going based on previous reviews I had to check the sheets and it was clean. I did a "white glove" sweep with the whole room... not bad.... only issue that there was accumulated dust in fire alarm and smoke detector. Other than that the room was kept clean. Me being extra I used several wipes just to make sure. There's a continental breakfast in the morning. I haven't had their breakfast yet but will definitely update when I do. So far the room is okay. It's nothing fancy and for the price I don't feel it was worth the price but you do feel more secure being on a military base. Will update.

3.5 stars. The quality is actually 3 but this really is the only option at Fort Irwin. I was initially really hard on this place but for what it's the only hotel on this base and it provides a decent comfortable stay for a family visiting Soldiers, Soldiers and families waiting for housing or Soldiers visiting on official government business. The nearest hotels off base are over 40 miles away in Barstow. Standard amenities with a coffee pot and requisite ersatz (ooh a GRE word) cream and sugar, craftily folded hand yield, shampoo, conditioner, soap, iron, ironing board and an open hangar. The television is a little 30 incher. I initially thought "oh cool! They have a desk top computer here, but, no, that was the small little flat screen TV I was looking at. A nice view of the asphalt roads and concrete courtyard in a bleak base in the middle of the sprawling high desert. You'll even see an emaciated (another GRE word. I'm awesome) coyote walk by while you're jogging. The hotel is walking distance from the 24 Hour Shoppette for all your basic needs: beer, wine, liquor, calzones, hot dogs, cigarettes, e cigarettes, cigars, dip, muscle magazines--yeah, basic essentials. Down the street is the Town Center with Subways, Pizza Hut, Starbucks and Game Zone. Keep walking and you'll hit the itty bitty park which is really just a small pretty space for dogs to poop. If you keep walking, you'll see nothing but the bleak, out dated Army structures where great, amazing things are happening inside. Great and amazing things. Don't be fooled by the 30 Soldiers walking around in the parking lots picking up cigarette butts. There's a track nearby to go running and other shopping needs (PX, Commisary) are just a short drive as well as the gym. This hotel truly is a landmark because it's the only place to get a room. It's either here or walking into the desert as it calls to you. I can't seem to shake the sense of stale motel-esque musk in here. Note: Brad Pitt and Shia Lebouf (narcissist) came to Fort Irwin to receive two weeks of tactical training for World War Z II, which I'm sure made them absolute spartan special forces seal team delta ranger ninjas. Lol. They rented an entire floor because that's just how vegan spartan ninjas roll.

    Room very clean and spacious!

They don't honor DTS reservations even if you call. Not worth the Hassle. Rooms are dated an worn. Place has a oder.

As soon as we walked in our room I was surprised to see it was super clean, no weird smells, etc.

I was greeted with all smiles by a very friendly and accommodating staff. Maria was very helpful, making sure I got everything I needed. On my first stay I was unhappy with the room, it was so hot and the AC unit just wasn't doing it for me. The room wasn't cooling down until about 2AM which made my nights rough working in the heat all day then coming in to a hot hotel room. The second stay was a complete 180! The room was far more spacious and the AC until did what it was supposed to do. The gym was nice and clean The room was quiet and very clean. Checking in and out went smoothly and had no problem whatsoever. Plenty of good eats in the area. If I'm in the area I look forward to booking another stay with this hotel.

The upside is the rates are pretty good! I got my room for about $130 booked the day of. The next closest Hilton was $166. I am traveling on business so I was unconcerned with particulars. I gather most people stationed here aren't trying to spend more than a night here. It is basically in the outlet stores. If you love you some outlet shopping then you need to stay here. You are right in it! Again I wasn't there for all that. In fact I was in the the beginning of what would an epic head cold ... I'm talking voice changes and generally not feeling that sick but sounding sick enough to have people recoil when you spoke. They have a pool. I think it looks like the web pics, the breakfast is standard for the hotel brand. Nobody is very out of their way nice or helpful which is ok. It's not like most people aren't the one nighters. Anyway, my only knock is that even on the nicer room (so I'm led to believe) you can hear EVERYTHING. The sound carries . At one point I convinced myself I might be going mad ....sure I could hear folks talking normally and such....But I had AirPods in and faintly heard crying. I'd take them out and listen and try to find where it was coming from to no avail. Over and over, to the point I slept without AirPods on and near the window. Then I HEARD the crying and jumped out of the bed! Only to find that a tomcat (cat was orange and white which is a male 90% of the time, you can look it up) out doing a mating call and just tomcatting around! Outside my window, wanting to break up my family! The audacity! No kitty, you go holler at someone else! Still unlike others I didn't see any roaches or anything dirty. I think they are getting right. IMPORTANT: they have these sharp guards for the mattress that aren't flush with anything and trust and believe SOMETHING will happen to hurt someone's leg. A good slice or chunk WiLL be taken by each bed with this set up. Go on and check yourself.. use a white towel/rag with a bit of water and swipe in the each of these basically Game of Thrones style spikes and I bet someone will come up with blood. Might even be mine cuz I was got! You can slide out of bed and slice some leg off. Minus a star

What really makes this property special is the people. Natalie, the Front Desk Manager, goes above and beyond. She makes sure my room is clean, organized, and that everything I need is taken care of. Her attention to detail and genuine concern for her guests really stand out. She doesn't just manage the front desk--she makes you feel welcomed and valued. The bar staff -- Nicole, Haley, and Yolanda -- have been absolutely amazing. From the beginning, all three have made me feel like I'm at home rather than staying in a hotel. They know my name, know what I drink, and somehow make sure my glass never goes dry. More importantly, they take the time to talk with you and make you feel like you're part of the family. After spending so much time traveling and being away from home, that kind of personalized service means more than people realize. Your staff has genuinely come to feel like family. I have experienced great hospitality in many places, but the level of personal attention I've received here has been some of the best since returning to the United States. Natalie, Nicole, Haley, and Yolanda deserve to be recognized by name. They are outstanding representatives of the hotel and the Marriott brand, and they are the reason an extended stay feels much less like living in a hotel and much more like having a home away from home. Thank you, ladies, for making my stay such a great experience. You are truly appreciated.

The first time, 2 months ago, the hotel staff were extremely helpful. I would have given them a 5-star review. They allowed me to pay for the room over the phone by credit card and let her check in with her pet even though she has a different last name than me. The process was smooth as can be. She checked in early, around 11 or 12 am and was able to rest immediately. The room was huge, clean, the staff were friendly and accommodating and late check out was no problem at all. The room was very price friendly. Because of this experience, I joined the loyalty program and have stayed at several in other cities (not as nice as this one). THIS TIME, my daughter had the same medical need to rest and because of the original experience I immediately chose the same hotel. It was the complete opposite experience with the staff. The front desk would not allow her to check in early. He would not allow her to wait for the fist room available by sitting at the pool. He would not allow her to sit in the lobby. He harassed her every step of the way while she was going through a medical emergency. She was crying and he did not care and proceeded to tell her she had to leave. We called repeatedly asking if we could pay extra for early check in and asked can she sit outside by the pool until a room came available. No. He gave us so much trouble about paying over the phone. Made us jump through so many hoops with credit card authorization forms over email and then nit-picked every check box on the form causing more stress and emails and phone calls. After 3.5 hours, she was able to get into a room around 1pm. Our family travels 247 and because of the original experience, they had me as a customer for life which is hard to get out of me. After this last experience, I am considering spending my money elsewhere. All that stress in an already stressful medical situation was unacceptable. We did not get the clerks name but my receipt says "checked in by 'gm'" at 11:26 am, on 3/12/26. That is not the time she got a room.
