The price was very reasonable, less then $100 including tax. We felt it was a good value for the money.

The location alone is a huge plus--right near pizza delivery, Starbucks, McDonald's, and other convenient food options. The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable, which made resting after a long drive really easy. A quick heads-up: the TV volume seems capped at about 1/4, so you won't get a cinematic surround-sound experience--but on the bright side, you also can't hear anyone else's TV, so it keeps the whole place peaceful. The morning breakfast room is outstanding. The service is nonstop, and the food is genuinely impressive. The taste and temperature of everything were spot-on--fresh, hot, and clearly prepared with care. That makes a huge difference in how healthy and enjoyable the breakfast feels. Basic accommodations for shampoo, lotion, and bar soap included but again it's a low priced hotel so it's not going to have brand name fancy soaps. This isn't hilton prices. On my first stay I was unhappy with the room, it was so hot and the AC unit just wasn't doing it for me. The room wasn't cooling down until about 2AM which made my nights rough working in the heat all day then coming in to a hot hotel room. The second stay was a complete 180! The room was far more spacious and the AC until did what it was supposed to do. The gym was nice and clean The room was quiet and very clean. Checking in and out went smoothly and had no problem whatsoever. Plenty of good eats in the area. If I'm in the area I look forward to booking another stay with this hotel.

Our Night Guardians animal rescue team is temporarily staying here because our sanctuary was flooded and repairs will take several days. We have stayed at Hampton Inn locations in Santa Clarita and Arcadia during rescue missions and events and have generally been treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, our experience here has been very different. During our stay, the elevator was not working. Walking the stairs was not a major issue for our team, but we saw senior guests struggling. One older gentleman with a suitcase was having difficulty using the stairs, and that was upsetting to see. A hotel should have a clear plan for assisting guests when an elevator is unavailable, particularly elderly guests and people with mobility limitations. We also experienced coffee being served cold or only lukewarm, and, most importantly, customer service that did not make us feel welcomed or properly cared for when concerns were raised. We don't expect special treatment because we are Night Guardians. We expect the same basic courtesy, assistance, and hospitality that every paying guest deserves. We know Hampton Inn can do much better because we have experienced much better service at other Hampton Inn locations. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues, especially how guests who cannot easily use the stairs are assisted when an elevator is out of service. Hospitality is not just providing a room. This is an older building which is ok but shows some wear and tear. The outside doors don't always close all the way. First H.I. that had a sign posted on the desk in the room on what to do in case of an emergency. The tv remote control in the room looked like it had dried food on it. Some of the wall paper was peeling off and the bathroom showed its age. The air conditioner and the refrigerator were both off which took time to turn on and cool down properly. No microwave in this room which was aggrivating. Glad they were sold out and busy. Keeping folks employed! I'm grateful to see that.

The taco place across street is hit or miss with quality. The sound of squeaking train brakes makes you feel like you are part of the Barstow train yard. The kids love coming to the Barstow yard because they get to see where daddy works. It's not very often that we get to come out here but on the rare occasion it's always fun. I know the pain in the ass that the railroad can be, but I have always been grateful for the life it had provided for my children and I. Barstow is a railroad town and it's a fun adventure for train lovers. If you love trains this is the place for you. I always like seeing the hump yard and the large amount of activity around the yard. Working here probably isn't fun but I don't know. I have a railroad husband and brother who both seem to enjoy their jobs.
