Okay 5 stars for my 5th H2S stay on this trip. This place was typical of the brand in terms of decor. It also was conveniently located near gas, the freeway, and a ton of eateries. The staff was friendly and on point. The room was spotless after the wipe down (a post COVID ritual) and comfortable. In regards to the staff. a couple from out of state had taken advantage of the legal weed situation here in California. However, maybe thinking it was like the stuff you get from some bearded hippy in the microbus, and not the pharmaceutical grade herb that it is, they took way too much and were struggling in the common area. This is my first time staying at any Home2Suites and it was beyond good. I stayed for one night and it was more than enough for one person, but you could fit a whole family of four in there if you wanted to. There's a decent kitchenette with a microwave, dish washer, refrigerator and freezer. I brought my own water with me so the fridge came in clutch. The bathroom was nice and had higher end soap, shampoo and conditioner. Water pressure was standard, I always appreciate high pressure but this one was decent. I wish the lighting in the room was a bit warmer, the fixtures and lamps are super cute and modern, but the color coming from it is that cold/harsh gray/white. No complaints about the bed or pillows as I slept through the night with no issues They have a continental breakfast in the morning from 6 to 9 a.m. and I was shocked at how good it was. They have the self serving waffle batter, but this was the first time I saw that the batter had cinnamon in it. The cinnamon wasn't overbearing at all, it was just right. I know for a fact they use the same batter at Disneyland and they also add a little brown sugar/cinnamon to their batter. There was a sign that showed you how to make a Nashville scorcher breakfast sandwich using the biscuit, chicken tender, egg and cheese and the hot sauce. I was going for the chicken tender when one of the staff members came out with breakfast sausage and suggested I try it with that instead. She was right, it tasted great. I ate one breakfast sandwich, a cup of oatmeal with blueberry compote and a few mini waffles and was set for the day and the long drive back home. I did explore the Spin 2 Cycle room and it's their gym and laundry room in one! Why aren't there more gym/laundromats in the real world? I feel like everyone would be much healthier with this efficient business model. Cost to wash clothes is actually cheaper than what it costs to wash at my apartment, but drying clothes is more expensive than the laundromat. Either way, the convenience of it all is worth the price. There is an indoor pool here so you can also go for a swim as part of your gym routine! I highly recommend staying here. It's beautiful, clean, new, spacious and they thought of everything so you really wouldn't need to leave the hotel other than to grab dinner. read more

A perfectly good representative for the Home2 Suites brand. Stayed here overnight for a road trip pitstop, and found this to be a nice place. Good location, literally right off the 15, yet was still quiet in the room. It's a fairly new property (4 years, I think), so everything in the room and the public areas were still in very good condition. As with every other Home2 Suites I've stayed at, the rooms are roomy and comfortable, and the beds give a good night's rest. My only interaction with the staff was during check-in, but they were friendly, professional, and efficient. The location is in a good part of Barstow, with an unusually large number of restaurants, fast food joints, and stores within 1.5 mile radius. Highly recommend for road trip way station. Probably also good if you are going to spending more than one night in Barstow. read more

This Home2 Suites was mostly quiet. There was a bit of road noise on the top floor though the floors seemed solid. This hotel was newer and seemed clean. Our room was spacious. There was a friendly chatty lady at the front desk. The property is dog friendly, and she broke out some treats for our dog. One annoyance was the semis parked everywhere on the frontage road. It was intimidating to navigate when driving and also somewhat discomforting when walking the dog in the morning. There were no parking signs all sound but they were seemingly ignored. We did swim in the saline pool. Laundry cost $1.50 in quarters for wash and the same to dry. There were fast food restaurants nearby and a couple of restaurants with bars not too far away. There was a large outdoor seating area with two grills as well. We ended up spending two nights at this hotel and it was one of our best stays on our trip out west. read more

Rough night. First the good parts. The front staff was nice and attentive, the place is new and clean, and the rooms are full of amenities like a big screen TV and a ton of toiletries. Despite being right next to the freeway, it was very quiet and after a 300 mile drive we were ready for sleep. That's kind of where the goodness stopped and the irritation began. First we had three people and were given a room with a pullout which was nice and big but even with the sheets out puton, the plastic encapsulated mattress made noise all night long. The sheets given were very thin, the blanket provided was actually a coverlet and provided minimal warmth. The shower was really poor volume and the towels as described by my daughter were very rough and more akin to being exfoliated while trying to dry off. The real challenge of the night were all the bright and flashing lights in the room from the two smoke detectors that flashed all night, the thermostat that shined brighter than the krypton sun all night (we had to put a towel over it) and the clock which would not dim to the point where we had to unplug it. read more

Easy Friendly check-In. They have little carts to help get your luggage to your room. Spacious modern rooms. Everything works and is very comfortable. Love the couch with great cushions. Comfortable pull out as well. Clean bathroom and kitchen. The only reason I'm removing a star was for the condition of the carpet which is was poor. falling apart and stained. It was that cheap stick down square carpet so even though the hotel is fairly new, the carpet has not lasted. We also used the indoor pool, which was heated and real nice. We wish there was a hot tub. Pool towels were included. Breakfast was GREAT! and checkout was easy. I would recommend this as a great overnight stop in the area, we also enjoyed shopping at the outlet mall. read more

With the exception of the very slow breakfast line (I think they need to change the order of the breakfast flow), we had an incredible one night stay here. This is clearly a very new property, as the entire hotel felt very modern and clean. Our room was wonderfully comfortable and spacious, which was just perfect after a strenuous week of hiking during our road trip. Customer service couldn't have been better and parking was super convenient. Plus, they have a bunch of hand sanitizer available around the lobby. While the complementary breakfast (from 6-9am) did take awhile, it was really quite substantial. They had waffles, bagels, cereal, and really impressive breakfast sandwiches to go. Those breakfast sandwiches were better than any fast food breakfast sandwich I've had! Definitely recommend this spot if you're making your way through Barstow. Plus, there are an incredible amount of food and gas options around. While we didn't check it out, the outlets are just down the road too! read more

This experience was a wonderful surprise. Honestly.... Expectations for a "high quality hotel" in Barstow were understandably low. Much to our delight the building was apparently pretty new and extremely well maintained. The front desk attendant graciously accommodated our room request. Again we were pleasantly impressed by the details and ambiance of the entire space. The room (all suites) was incredibly clean and comfortable. Then the free breakfast next morning... clean area.. fresh and plentiful choices including "you make'um" waffles. The Breakfast Lady was SO kind and helpful to all the guests! If you are staying in Barstow - you owe it to yourself to give this fine place a try. It's the ONLY choice for me.... read more

The hotel is incredible and very accommodating for large families traveling. The cost is not overly priced and the space offered in the rooms is perfect. We had 6 people (3 adults and 3 kids.) The adults had a bed and the kiddos shared a bed. It was very clean and easy to get to. We had 2 vehicles towing a car and the parking lot was able to accommodate the extra space needed to park them. Stopped here for the night. New hotel and super clean. All of the staff are very nice. We really loved the hotel. I kinda wish I was staying longer than one night. LoL. Will definitely stay here again! They actually had a breakfast and you can sit in dinning area or take back to your room and a tray. The only thing I'd ask for is a gluten-free bread for toast as an option for us Celiacs. I did manage to make a fruit parfait with the gluten-free yogurt and berries I had. I really wanted to give this hotel 5 stars... great customer service, lovely clean and brand new hotel. We were put in a King room with adjoining doors to the people next door room and it was LOUD. Once we asked front desk to call them it got a lot quieter, but we couldn't move rooms because they were sold out. They don't sell or offer earplugs at the hotel so I suggest you bring your own or ask for a room that's not joined to another with the two doors. I love the kitchen amenities with a fridge, dishwasher, and microwave. It is strange there is no shelf in the shower for shampoo, soap and I had to put the items on the floor. Breakfast was good and had a lot of options. Bed was comfortable. We also asked for a room facing mountains instead of highway which they had available. read more

This hotel deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately there is one huge issue that changed my mind on a higher rating. My husband and I have been staying here for several months. They offer a decent continental breakfast with several items to choose from. Hot coffee and a nice variety of tea served 24/7. They are pet friendly which is always a plus for me. Most of the staff is amazing. Kuon is very helpful. My first day arriving I was greeted by Kuon who went out of his way to come over and open the door for us as we were struggling to get our luggage in. He was very polite, professional, and courteous. 1st impressions really do make a difference. Next, we have Jauna who greets me and all the other guests every morning. She is amazing and one of the hardest working people at this hotel. If I had a business I would definitely hire her, she gets things done and is a total asset to this company. She should be promoted. Josephina works in house- keeping. When she cleans your room she does a thorough job and takes care of all the important details. I have had problems with the other maids not leaving toilet paper, paper towels, and taking out the trash, in fact, one time a maid came into my room to clean and took the 1/4 roll of tp I had left and left none. After traveling an hour and a half getting here I had to tinkle. Talk about being stranded on the toilet bowl. I have requested Josephina to be the only housekeeper in my room. This is working out very well for me. She is amazing. I only get my room cleaned once a week, I would like it done right. Sebastian is always a big help. He actually does what he says hes going to do. I found it easier to wait until evening when he is on duty, than to deal with incompetent people. He actually listens, And tries to get things done the 1st time. Pablo came to my room to fix the sink one time. He was very professional and did a great job. Here's where I talk about the negative. On April 29th 2022. My husband and I were heading home for the weekend. When we walked out to our car we found our car jacked up with a tire missing. They left the jack and lugnuts. We called the police immediately and made a police report. Then we went to the office and told Ashlenn who was working the front desk what happened. Now I understand it's not the hotel's fault and this could happen anywhere, But the attitude I received when I told Ashlenn what happened really floored me. Her 1st words out of her mouth were "we are not responsible". I found that in very poor taste. I know they have cameras all around and I was hoping that they could go through the footage. I wasn't expecting them to go replace the tire. They have the footage of what happened, they don't care about the customers unfortunately, they said "we don't have the time to look at it and that is the police's job". Ashlenn told me she skimmed through it at the top of every hour. Furthermore, I know the police were investigating other incidents at this hotel. So I am guessing this is an on-going problem. On or around June 23rd I went outside to take my dogs out to do their business. As I stepped outside their was a gentleman standing outside smoking a blunt. I don't have a problem with that except he was standing next to the door. I don't smoke (cigarettes or Marijuana) and I don't want to inhale 2nd hand smoke. I believe there is a smoking area, it should be enforced. Once again, I tried talking to Ashlenn. Her response was " It's not illegal, you can buy marijuana right around the corner from here there's nothing we can do about it". It was obvious that Ashlenn was very annoyed that I wasted her time with my trivial stuff. Another thing that I find annoying is that you have to put the wi-fi password in every 24 hours. Numerous times I was working on something important and bam, just like that I get kicked off the internet. You would think they could set it up for the length of your stay. read more

This hotel was SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD we can't believe our luck to stay here. A brand new building, brand new rooms, brand new everything. Amazing small kitchenette, and there's a sticker saying that if you want to cook - they will give you a portable cooktop with skillets for free. The sofa is a sofa-bed, and a set of bed linens, pillow etc is in the wardrobe! For no extra bed charge. The coffee at the entrance was SO tasty we drank it non-stop :) I mean, it was REALLY good. The breakfast was amazing: juice, waffles, fried eggs, a ton of choice of marmalade/sauces. And there is a gas fireplace right outside the lobby: a great place to spend a cold evening. And they have an indoor pool! SUPERB hotel. Recommend it! read more

The staff are just like the ones at Hampton. I was treated poorly because I came in looking slightly disheveled. My truck had a blow out, and I had to change the tire.
