The owners of this place were greatly accommodating and wonderful with my demands when I needed a room change. Room was clean and had a cute elephant tied towels. Basic accommodations for shampoo, lotion, and bar soap included but again it's a low priced hotel so it's not going to have brand name fancy soaps. This isn't hilton prices. I would 100% come back here again. Oh and no elevator so if you are handicapped, you can't get the upstairs rooms.

I was greeted with all smiles by a very friendly and accommodating staff. Maria was very helpful, making sure I got everything I needed. On my first stay I was unhappy with the room, it was so hot and the AC unit just wasn't doing it for me. The room wasn't cooling down until about 2AM which made my nights rough working in the heat all day then coming in to a hot hotel room. The second stay was a complete 180! The room was far more spacious and the AC until did what it was supposed to do. The gym was nice and clean The room was quiet and very clean. Checking in and out went smoothly and had no problem whatsoever. Plenty of good eats in the area. If I'm in the area I look forward to booking another stay with this hotel.

Very Disappointing Experience at Hampton Inn Barstow I…read morerarely write a review like this, but our experience at the Hampton Inn in Barstow has been extremely disappointing. Our Night Guardians animal rescue team is temporarily staying here because our sanctuary was flooded and repairs will take several days. We have stayed at Hampton Inn locations in Santa Clarita and Arcadia during rescue missions and events and have generally been treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, our experience here has been very different. During our stay, the elevator was not working. Walking the stairs was not a major issue for our team, but we saw senior guests struggling. One older gentleman with a suitcase was having difficulty using the stairs, and that was upsetting to see. A hotel should have a clear plan for assisting guests when an elevator is unavailable, particularly elderly guests and people with mobility limitations. We also experienced coffee being served cold or only lukewarm, and, most importantly, customer service that did not make us feel welcomed or properly cared for when concerns were raised. We don't expect special treatment because we are Night Guardians. We expect the same basic courtesy, assistance, and hospitality that every paying guest deserves. We know Hampton Inn can do much better because we have experienced much better service at other Hampton Inn locations. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues, especially how guests who cannot easily use the stairs are assisted when an elevator is out of service. Hospitality is not just providing a room. (A few upholstered chairs needed cleaning or recovered but that was the only poor thing I noticed) The lady that checked me in lacked hospitality but the gentleman next to her made up for it. The location alone is a huge plus--right near pizza delivery, Starbucks, McDonald's, and other convenient food options. A quick heads-up: the TV volume seems capped at about 1/4, so you won't get a cinematic surround-sound experience--but on the bright side, you also can't hear anyone else's TV, so it keeps the whole place peaceful. I'm withholding the 5th star for 5 reasons: a human hair found in bathroom, road noise is higher than expected, homeless pass through the property, the room reeked of cheap bleach upon arrival, and--worst-- there was one big fat roach crawling on the wall at midnight. I think it came in from a gap in the seal of the housing for the recessed "canned" spotlight in the ceiling. It's been cold and raining, so it was probably seeking warmth. I aired out the room at arrival and played ambient music at bedtime to drown out/mask the sound of the passing vehicles on Main Street plus the loudly talking hobos.
