We bought a home in Evanston's Lakeshore Historic District that was built in the 1890s. During the home inspection, we found out that it had been home to many generations of raccoons and that it needed its insulation changed because of the contamination and fleas. Our real estate agent recommended ABC Wildlife & Landmark Pest Management and they took the raccoons away, put metal backing where the soffit was letting them in, and changed the insulation. My experience with ABC Humane Wildlife was as good as it gets, and I recommend them. I hired them for a second time to do a mouse control program. There are gaps all the way around my house that mice can use to enter the walls. It's no surprise with a more than 100-year old house. They are using stainless steel mesh, commercial-grade sealant, and in some areas a metal product called angle iron to close out mice. It is going to be a few thousand dollars but it is a better alternative than using rodenticide for the whole time we live there. ABC's way is much better for the environment, so we are making the investment in our home being mouse-free. The proposal they gave me is very comprehensive, includes photos, calls out the material they will use in each spot, and gives warranty information specific to each type of material. I'm very impressed with all of the work they've done for me and all of the work they are about to do to keep mice out. This is the second time since I bought my home that ABC Humane, which is the wildlife control department of Landmark Pest Management, has solved a wildlife problem for me. The first time, we had flying squirrels in the attic. They trapped two flying squirrels and relocated them to a nature center's adjacent forest. Their service was terrific and they explained their whole process to my kids. I appreciate the great service and the extra time they took to talk with my kids about flying squirrels. This year we had foxes taking shelter under our deck and dragging their stinky, dead prey underneath there, which made our yard stink to high hell. We asked ABC to trap the foxes, but they explained that it's more humane to install underground fencing beneath our deck instead of trapping the animals. They came when the foxes weren't home, and they sealed them out. Our problem was solved, and now, since we plan to stay in our home a long time, we'll never have to deal with having animals under the deck again. read more

VERY RESPECTFUL OF MY HOME (white carpet): The technician came to my house and put on boot covers before he came in. I knew I was going to like the service when I saw that. Then he put boot covers on the feet of his ladder too. This company is very thoughtful and pays attention to the little details that made me feel comfortable. After he went up in my attic, some insulation fell out of the hatch, but he had put a plastic sheet on my hallway carpet which caught it. They were very respectful of my home and the service was top notch. Not the cheapest, but definitely the best! If you're looking for quality, knowledge, professionalism, and high-end service, this is the company you should use. I used to use Anderson, but when they sold, their service people went down hill. Orkin has always been terrible. I consider ABC Wildlife/Landmark Pest Management the luxury option in pest control. I called Landmark Pest Management because of their 40 year experience in wildlife and I had used their service in the past to help with an opossum problem. This time around, bees were making my life miserable. I was finding them all over the house, sometimes dead, sometimes ready to sting. I called Landmark and the very next morning Harold showed up and explained the process. We have a newborn in the unit above us and have 2 dogs so we were very concerned about carefully placing any treatments. Harold was so patient and knowledgeable. He found 2 points of entry almost instantly when I felt like I've looked for days. He immediately treated the areas and talked me through the process - including some habits about bees! He answered all of my questions, I never felt rushed, and he left his number for any issues. He said I should see improvement in a few days and it's been 3 days and not one single bee!! I phoned Landmark after receiving a referral from a neighbor and I can't say enough good things about this company. I've never had a rodent problem before and was always hesitant to use any pesticides. I expressed my concerned and the office staff member immediately made me feel comfortable - answered all my questions and I never felt rushed or like they were trying to get me off the phone and on to the next call. Landmark Pest Management was very helpful in dealing with my skunk problem. I had initially called Landmark a year prior to trap a skunk. At the time, the technician suggested a more expensive option than I was willing to undertake at the time. He wasn't pushy about it and didn't bring it up again on subsequent communications. When the skunks returned, I called Landmark again. The same technician came, remembered my problem, and suggested that that expensive solution would help. Again, he wasn't pushy about it. However, he did remember some particulars of my situation, and explained clearly how their solution would solve my problems. I airbnb'd my condo while I was traveling in Europe for a month. It's a beautiful 2-bedroom condo in Streeterville that I charged $350 a night for thinking that a higher price would attract a clientele that wouldn't damage by place or have bed bugs. I was wrong. I came home and immediately started getting bitten in my bed. I took my headboard off and saw the bugs. What a horrible feeling. Landmark was recommended to me by their wildlife controllers and I was impressed with them from start to finish. I highly recommend Landmark! Landmark Pest Management's wildlife control division, called ABC Wildlife, handled a bat problem on our commercial building very expertly. I would recommend Landmark Pest Management to remove bat colonies. Our roofer found the colony and Landmark/ABC used a one-way-door to have the bats leave but not return. The colony was able to get in due to a structural flaw all the way around our 15,000 square foot building. They sealed the entire gap and they followed up with a return visit after we had a new roof put on to make sure the roofing company didn't disturb the materials they installed. Thank you for taking the raccoon out of my living room before it ruined my art collection. You helped me through the most terrifying day of my life. When a raccoon drops out of your ceiling, you'll know what I went through. We were having a skylight installed, and the day before it was done, a raccoon popped through the opening and fell almost two stories onto my sofa. Lucky raccoon. What a relief to find such an outstanding company for this challenging service. Landmark came to my rescue when I discovered bugs, that I thought were bedbugs. Turns out the bugs were carpet Beatles, and the population was growing. Stephen and Rebecca identified the critters and presented a plan of action that not only worked to get rid of the beatles but also was safe so my dogs were not exposed to toxic chemical. We discovered that some song birds and their fledglings had made their home within our bathroom walls. Anytime we were in the bathroom they'd wake up and cause a ruckus. ABC Wildlife Control came out and humanely extracted the birds from our walls and patched the entrance they were coming in from to prevent any future birds from nesting in our walls. Great company! Super helpful in dealing an ant issue that started in my kitchen, and spread to the bedrooms. I had no idea how this started, and Landmark took care of the whole situation really quickly. I don't know why I waited so long to call! I was scared to call a pest control company because one of my pets is an older dog who is very sensitive, but once they explained to me that they do not spray base boards and that their targeted products are the mildest effective products and are applied to areas that my pet can't access to.
