Casey came to my house on a Sunday to measure the property and discuss our plans. He got us the bid that evening. His price was extremely competitive and his reviews online were stellar. The days Kraft Fencing committed to build were the 2 rainiest days in December. There were flash flood warnings posted on both of those days and still, Casey and Roman showed up and went to work. I felt bad but they had top notch rain gear and smiles on their faces. They and their crew showed up at 7:30am both days and just got after the job. The craftsmanship is very impressive. They use screws instead of nails, the posts are beefier than the standard 4x4 post, and they use clear cedar in all the wood work except for the posts. The most impressive thing we experiened with Casey and his company was how he and his crew responded to a mistake that was made. He listened to our concern, gave us a few options to rectify the mistake, made sure both my wife and I would be happy with the work around, and then went about his business and made it right (without any additional charge). He showed some good photo examples of his work, and answered my questions well. Also chose him because his pricing was in the middle. His work speed is very fast and the quality of the wood he brought was overall great high quality, not perfect, but great. After completion my neighbor and I did point out a couple things we either wanted changed or fixed. Humberto stayed a few more hours to make those changes. The fence is fantastic and Humberto did a great job at a fair price. If you have any specific design needs, it's best to have it typed out with photos in messenger, and also review in person when the work starts. My neighbor and I went through 5 different contractor bids, and it's best to review carefully if you expect something specific such as "visible concrete vs hidden concrete", "panels touching ground vs not", "pressure treated vs cedar", "distance between posts", "amount of gap between panels", etc. Humberto Mora is Highly recommended!

Wow! I'm amazed that Cedar River construction doesn't have more reviews on Yelp. One even gave us a quote and when I called to book the job, they never called back. We found Steve's website online and he called us back within a day, was out to do the quote with in a few days after that and started the job within about a week! He was prompt, professional and not afraid of technology (I.e he knew how to respond via email--which was great because then we didn't play phone tag.) He used quality lumber from a local company, got the job done on time and delivered high quality work. His quote was just a bit less than other quotes (yea!), but generally all the quotes we got were in the same ballpark. So it was really his promptness, communication and professionalism that sold us. The site was clean and orderly after they left and we came home to a beautiful cedar fence. I especially like the gate design. If we ever re-do our deck or extend the fence line, Cedar River will be our first call. I'd recommend Steve's work to anyone!

When we raised the issue, they initially denied installing that particular post. After we provided clear photographic evidence proving otherwise, they stopped responding and have ignored our repeated messages ever since. The workmanship was disappointing, but their refusal to address a legitimate problem was even more concerning. In our experience, this is not a company that takes responsibility when something goes wrong. We also found information on the BBB website stating that the company had not obtained a necessary license from the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries. Prospective customers may want to verify the contractor's licensing status themselves before hiring them.
