I went there once to get my my oil leak checked out. It was obviously leaking cause I could see…read morethe oil drip from my engine onto the ground. They told me it was my oil sending unit and with parts and labour it would $70. I let them put it in and when I arrived home I was still seeing the oil dripping. I brought it back and they put it back on the hoist but said they couldn't see any oil leaking. Really? They fix cars for a living and can't even spot a dripping oil leak that any regular schmuck could see with naked eyes. If they couldn't see it actually dripping they should have been able to see the drips on the ground but they probably didn't even look for that. My rationale was that if they can't even see that there is a leak, I'm not even going to try and show them or have them try and fix my car again.

The first time was with my 1992 black Acura.The window stopped working so I figured i was needing a new motor.Nope.Sabi repaired a broken wire for a minimal service charge.Off to a great Start. Then the starter problem. I had replaced a starter myself from a rebuilt shop and it was defective.Sabi was able to figure this out.Since then I knew i had found my repair shop. His shop has been doing oil changes,starters,,master cylinders,tires,Brakes Alternaters and services on my cars.Always repaired correctly and affordably. Brought my car in at appointment time but they sent me away. "Too busy" right now they said. Came back at new appointment time. This time someone had called in sick and they couldn't fix it. Third time there and the employee working only replaced one of the two required exhaust pipes BUT didn't say anything!!!! The other pipe he just stuffed with muffler putty (?!) He dead eyed told me both parts were installed and charged me for both!!!! Liaaaaaars. I went out to the parking lot, looked under the car, which still sounded like it was leaking exhaust and literally saw muffler putty spurting out. Went back in and called them out on it. Wtf?!?!!? Stone faced lie. The owner then got involved and blah blah blah. Fast talking slick eddy. Ended up fixing it as originally said but charged me double than the quoted price. I was a teenager at the time and didn't push back too hard. You tell me if that's how honest, good business is done? I never went back, told everyone I know my experience and everyone else relayed similar horror stories. They've had a bad rep for decades and the only way their Yelp rating is as high as it is, is insiders pumping up the number. Scammers. 100% Would strongly not recommend.

Ken, the owner of Dawson, was very very booked but took the time to listen to my problem, then made room for me first thing the following morning ! I can't say enough about Ken, his company and the Service the entire staff provided ! The best surprise is when I got the Bill, with all that he did to accomadate me, what he charged was down right reasonable. Take your Diesel pusher to him they are great in everyway.

Dave and his crew at Hyack Excel Tire saved the day!…read more We drove up from California in our brand new car to spend the holidays with out family here in Vancouver. Two days ago, the tire pressure in our right rear wheel was low. After filling and checking again overnight, we did indeed have a slow leak. We went to one of the larger tire shop chain stores, and they found a screw that had lodged near the inside edge of the tire. They said that it was in an unpatchable section of the tire, and we had to replace the tire. After taxes, it would have been $550! The major cost was in the tire, so we figured we would get the tire done closer to my in-law's place in New West so that we could just drop off the car for the day, then pick it up after it was done. We found Hyack on Yelp, and quoted a slightly lower price for the job. I brought the car in so that they could inspect it in-person. Dave took a look at the screw in the tire, and he said, "I think I can patch this." He said that he's seen this type of screw before (must be common occurrence with all the construction in New West or something) and that these were typically short, so the puncture was probably small. Dave said that he would have his guys take the tire off and look to see if they can patch it. If they couldn't, we would go with Plan B and order the new tire. We left the car for a couple hours and then Dave called and said he was able to patch it. As he suspected, it was a short screw, and the puncture on the inside was actually in the flat part of the tire where he could secure a patch. All together, $45 for the patch! Definitely saved us from replacing a brand new tire with another brand new tire! How is that for honesty? I would absolutely recommend Hyack for their reasonable prices, honesty and quick turnaround. And for the person who thinks that he can get a patch for $10, good luck. Maybe if you bought your tires from that shop, they would do it for a discount, but $10 hardly covers the labor. $45 was very reasonable. The large tire chain was going to charge us $56 and the dealership $150. Thanks Hyack! You saved our trip!

He got my car to the dealership himself, as I couldn't do so because I was at work in Vancouver and did not charge for this amazing favour. The dealership did not complete the job and didn't put the cover back on my wiper system. I took it back to Lee and he had it back and perfect in an hour. Everyone I encountered there was professional, kind and showed excellent customer service. I would recommend them to anyone.
