Cliquish front desk staff who will make you wait a long time even behind walk ins and even if you have an appointment. Charge 85 just to be seen and over double that if you have an emergency. Twice the doctor told me to come back in two days for a re-check at no charge. They charged me the emergency rate anyway. This all should have been red flag enough for me to leave this vet but I didn't in time to save my senior cat. Maybe they are fine for dogs but they should never touch another senior cat because they do not know what they are doing or looking at. They won't tell you what testing needs to be done or anything preventative. read more

It's such a cliché, but they truly treat your pets like their own. I had just moved to town and precious Corgi, Mac, wasn't feeling well. Dr. Riddles was so patient and explained everything to me, even when I asked him to repeat and clarify a few things. He never acted like he was too busy or a burden for asking follow questions. The vet tech was also so sweet and patient with me. Ultimately, Mac crossed the rainbow bridge, but they made me feel at peace with the decision. They are also very cautious with COVID precautions. I cannot recommend Lange Veterinary Hospital enough. They area always busy for a reason. read more

My favorite vet of all time. I honestly think anyone who gives this place a bad review is a crusty old @sshole just looking for cheap service for an animal that they can't afford. You people are the reason vets have such a high suicide rate. We went here years ago for our older kitty with a backwards sneeze and they handled it great. Took our other kitty here last year for a lame leg (that was due to nerve issues probably from spider bite), and she had to be amputated. They were the first damn vet to actually give us direction in what to do, we went to an emergency vet the night of, Banfield twice, and then the Dallas animal hospital, and all three of those times they just ran us in circles, charged us like mad, and the ER vet charged us 500 bucks and didn't even allow us antibiotics for the wound. Lange first had the kitty go on a weight loss plan for two weeks, to make sure she was fit for surgery, and then went through with it. Costed the same as the ER who did nothing. read more

Although there are quite a few veterinarians in the area, I called Lange Veterinarian Hospital in Sherman, TX, and was able to get an appointment that day. I had previously called another Veterinarian that morning and was given an appointment in which I had to wait fir two weeks. Dr. Sam is amazing. She suggested a panel of tests--reasonably priced--and a set of boosters. Dr. Sam personally called me the next day with the results and a couple of medications. Very friendly, efficient staff. Being a dog mommy can be tough. I visited this veterinary for the first time 12/28, for their cremation service for our beloved little baby girl. I had to return for another emergency visit for my senior pet on 1/5- talk about stress, right!?!? The service that I received from a young man named Cory - was exceptional!! Due to COVID, both visits had to be curbside and I never actually met the veterinarian. The assistant, Cory came to our aid with such respect, genuine care and knowledge!!!! I've never been treated this good at a vet, before. I knew with my last visit being an emergency visit, I'd pay an arm and a leg- wrong! The price was so reasonable. She worried because she didn't have a vet here yet , so we called looking for help. We were very thankful to be able to get him in via Urgent Care. They were able to get him seen quickly and do surgery as needed. He came home that same day. Every one we encountered was friendly and very helpful and treated Lucky kindly. Have visited this place twice and have had bad experiences both times. First time to get my animal spayed and never saw or talked to the vet a single time in the initial check up or the drop off day. Second time my animal was given pain shots without my permission when she clearly wasn't in any pain as well as other unnecessary testing to bring the price of my 15 minute visit to over 350$ read more

My only visit to this office was to have my sweet baby laid to rest. Every individual that helped me with this process were absolutely awesome!!! They were so kind, empathetic and just magnificent. Riddel and Lange both provided to our Corgi Karma over what proved to be the final months of her life.We relocated to Texas from Kansas this summer so that I could accept a faculty position at Austin College. We are particularly grateful for Dr. Lange's careful watch over Karma after an initial seizure episode in October and for Dr. Riddel's kindness in subsequent care. It meant so much to us to have Dr. Riddel on hand to deliver the devastating news that Karma had expired shortly after our arrival at opening time on December 7th with a dog in the throes of an unprecedent series of seizures. Dr Riddles is the best, my dog ate part of a rope toy and it got stuck in her intestines. My daughter-in-law uses this vet and took her there while I was out of town. Eventually I transferred her down to my regular vet in Gun Barrel City only because I had a prior relationship with them. Lange is efficient, kind, and more than reasonably priced. There are no appointments, so you can come anytime. They are more than adequately staffed, so I've never waited more than 5 minutes, even on a Saturday morning. They take your pet back, then bring you back for a debrief. This makes their process of seeing pets more efficient. No waiting forever past an appointment time. They itemize the cost of everything so you know exactly what the costs are, and some are optional. I have been consistently disappointed in the lack of professionalism and practices of the Lange Vet office. My dog was a patient of theirs while she resided in a foster home in Sherman. The vet records from their office were incomplete and handwritten - this would not be a problem if she were a permanent patient, but they did not consider that she was a foster, and in transferring the dog to a new vet, the records were not considered proof of vaccination (as they were written in the vet's own shorthand),. All of the vaccines had to be administered again. Furthermore, I called the vet's office a year after the adoption when the dog began having health problems in order to ascertain whether they had spayed the dog. I was rather rudely and abruptly told by the pre-eminently unhelpful secretary that they had no record of my dog in their system, although the foster mother was still listed as a client. read more

Like the others, I love the veterinarians at Lange's (especially Dr. Riddels- he is wonderful!), but the ladies at the front desk lack professionalism and tact. I have seen them pick up a phone and hang it up when it's ringing (then it actually happened to me!), they don't acknowlege people, and just not friendly. It's unfortunate. We have been blessed to have Dr. Lange take care of our fuzzy brats for over 30 years. He is a brilliant doctor and has proven it more times and in more ways that I can count. The very best thing about Dr. Lange...he cares about his patients. On a scale of 1 to 10- with 10 being the best, Dr. Lange is somewhere around 100. He has diagnosed and successfully treated our fuzzy family members for everything from rare blood disorders no other vet could determine, to removing 4 bullets from our cat. He treats not just the physical injury or illness, but the emotional and psychological elements as well. During out cat's long recovery, we were encouraged to come daily and visit him to keep his spirits up. I was shown to the back and provided a chair and told to take all the time I wanted. It worked and a couple of weeks later, Jamiecat came home. How many other vets would do this? We almost lost one of our doggies recently. We knew she was in horrendous pain. Dr. Lange was out of town so we went to another vet. Without any testing, she was diagnosed with a headache. We almost lost her that night. The next day Dr. Lange was back, took her in immediately and did the necessary testing. She had acute pancreatitis. I'm told that is the most severe pain any being can have. She would have died in agony had it not been for Dr. Lange. The list of his accomplishments, of bringing back our fuzzy kids from the brink of death, as well as prescribing the right meds and procedures to make their lives a bit better is long. Sufficient to say you would be hard pressed to find a better vet anywhere in the Unites States. read more
