I hate to leave my dog anywhere and I have cancelled trips to stay with Rettung. But, I believe Rettung likes to go here more than he likes being with me! This place has it ALL! This is an actual RESORT for pets! They have beautiful rooms, awesome beds, TVs(yes, TVs!), SWIMMING POOL, and plenty of activities for the pets/FAMILY! They constantly place pictures on Facebook. They have veterinarians close by and the pets are SECURE. The whole complex is IMMACULATELY clean! I know business is about making money, but I do not get that "feeling" here. The staff really does appear to love their jobs and the pets. I have YET to pick Rettung up one time when he wasn't clean and looking great. I WILL NOT take Rettung anywhere else if I have to board him! They have a customer forever! Thanks again for taking care of my pet/family member! Trey and Rettung!

Robyn helped me work with basic obedience right after I got my Hazel while Robyn was still at PetSmart. It was immediately clear that she has a next-level understanding of how to translate what our human expectations are into language and consistency our pups can understand. Well a couple years passed and, for the first time since I adopted Hazel, I was going to be traveling somewhere she couldn't come. While looking for solutions, I considered a Board and Train situation but was weary of trusting my pup to just anyone. By complete happenstance, around the same time I ran into Robyn and her husband while running errands! Lo and behold, they had started their own training company and would board and train Hazel for me. I was so relieved! This was the first time I had left Hazel with anyone other than family and the first time she'd been left for more than a night. Robyn and her staff took great care in communicating. Hazel is a breed mix of some famously smart and stubborn breeds. Training effectively requires consistency and, most importantly, cooperation from the owner. Robyn and her staff excel equally at working with the dog and 'training' the owner. They screwed up the IV on day two and the fluids went sub q into his paw which swelled up huge because they didn't notice the IV catheter came loose while he was in their care. He left in worse shape than he arrived. Right after paying them the $1800 and being told he still isn't feeling good, they brought out the wrong cat to us. Also had to sit in the waiting room for an hour past our appointment time, TWICE. I booked an appointment with my former vet in Dallas immediately after leaving with my cat and they were shocked at what I was charged. They stopped the antibiotics which weren't needed based on the type of crystals, did the fluids correctly and got him on the correct meds with the prescription diet and he was back to his normal self. Total cost at my Dallas vet for the exact same fluid treatment with catheter with the prescription food was $500. I'm gutted I got so ripped off at this Denison vet.

I called to see if I could make an appointment for an anesthetic full body shave for my cat. Canyon Creek said they needed a blood test. I asked if I could get the blood test done at a different vet location as I am on social security now and their blood work is a bit pricey. At first they said, yes. That they would do the sedated shave and accept the other office's blood work, then they abruptly came back and said NO, that they would not be doing my sedated shave and I was no longer their client. I asked the receptionist to clarify her statement and she said I was no longer a client and she had other customers to help, and hung up the phone. I couldn't believe I was being tossed aside just because I needed to cut back on my spending at the vet. And they said they would help me, then said they wouldn't and then - go away.

My dog was suffering from very irritated skin from allergies, and he needed a refill of his apoquel…read moreprescription. So I took him into the office because he desperately needed it that same day, and I wanted to show them why. After the front desk person went to ask the dr, they came back and said they wouldn't give me a refill because it had been more than 6 months since my dog had been in for a well visit. I told them I would bring him in the next day if I could just get 1 pill to last him until tomorrow. Instead of having any kind of sympathy for the pain my dog was in, the dr refused me the 1 pill until I came in the next day and paid for an office visit. Mind you, she never even stepped out of her office to talk to me herself, or to see the pain my dog was in. The front desk person told me I had to drop him off early that next morning so they could fit him in, in which he would be left in a kennel most of the day which he is not used to. But since I was given no other option, I had to put my dog through more discomfort in order to get the medicine that would help him feel better. So I dropped him off at 7:45 the next day, and was called by the dr later that afternoon to pick him up. All she did was try to upsell me with antibiotics and flea medication over the phone. I told her I order his flea medication online, and I didn't think antibiotics were needed (because the apoquel has worked just fine by without antibiotics for the past 3 years that I've been giving it to him, even though the dr was trying to convince me it wouldn't be as effective without them). Once I arrived to pick him up, he was very anxious from being left in the kennel all day. There was a bag with his medicine in it waiting at the front desk for me, with a written prescription that I didn't ask for inside. (I usually order the medication online because it's cheaper than buying it from the vet). So when I went to order his apoquel online, a written prescription wasn't an option for online submission. It had to be called in and verified, or you have to mail in the written script, which adds an extra week to the time it takes for the medication to be filled. So I chose the option to submit the vet's contact information so they could approve the script over the phone. The doctor then denies the online request because they gave me a written prescription that I didn't ask for, and never even called to tell me they denied it. So once I realized my online order was still on hold after a week, I called the office and they told me they wouldn't approve the online request until I drove 40 min out of my way to bring the written script back to the office. ....Following my yelp review, I was contacted by the office manager Lori. Not to ease any of my concerns, but to defend the way they handled the situation. Patronizing me, telling me I know nothing about how a veterinary clinic works. She then told me she was cancelling my vet service with their clinic, and emailed me my pet's records. What she didn't give me a chance to tell her was that I've studied dog nutrition extensively for the past 3 years, and I understand that they push unnecessary medications and vaccines in the entire healthcare industry (which I've worked in for the past 15 years myself, and just stepped away from because they push for profit instead of advocating for patient care) so I'm not blinded by the fact that it is no different in veterinary practice since they are taught by the same institutions that are funded by the pharmaceutical industry. All pet owners should watch the documentary 'Pet Fooled' to see what's happening behind the scenes that we aren't told about. Bottom line..terrible customer service and repeatedly unsympathetic doctor. I will never go back to this place.

The front reception intake lady plus the Vet Hospital Tech & the Vet Dr. were all very sympathetic compassionate people when my kitty fur baby had to be put to sleep bc of no cure and/or recovery from the aortic saddle thrombolism my prescious kitty all of a sudden out of the blue w/no warning suffered only a couple of hours before i brought him here to the after-hours texoma veterinary hospital - they respectfully examined my prescious 13-14 year old fur baby & then presented me w/the very sad news of what had happened to him and altho i was heartbroken i also knew from what i read that he was suffering from this debilitating event brought on by a diseased heart that i never knew he had and since there was no cure or chance of a comeback from this terrible diagnosis and the lower half of his body becoming paralyised instantly i opted to end his pain & suffering even tho i didn't want to but the dr & tech were so kind & thoughtful that they put my baby to sleep in my lap while i held him right next to my heart wrapped in a beautiful warm blanket and then allowed me to stay w/him afterwards for as long as i wanted to - i opted for cremation & his remains put in an urn for me to always have w/me - Thank you Texoma Vet Hospital for ur kindness and gentleness w/me & my fur baby that painful sorrowful night read more

I worked for the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center for over 7 years and throughout those years I worked with some of the most wonderful veterinarians and surgeons. I left DVSC in May of 2011 and began my career at Texoma Veterinary Hospital in July 2011. I can, with out a doubt, say that the doctors (Dr. Tidwell, Dr. Lawrence, and Dr. Frazier) at Texoma Veterinary Hospital are some of the VERY BEST doctors I have ever worked for!! They were amazingly thorough and kind and eventhough my girl ended up diagnosed with terminal cancer and didn't get through the weekend after we saw them , they got us in right away for MRI and even showed me the facility behind scenes and it was so clean and nice . Our family brought our dog in a few weeks ago with concerns about what was at the time a small mass…read morethat had just come up on her stomach. We were told not to be concerned and given some medication to help with the mass before a scheduled surgery 2 week later. Over the next week the mass grew rapidly and my wife called 2 times to express concerns and was told they would call back. They did not. I brought her in the next day and this point the mass had broken the skin and was bleeding profusely. They waited most of the day before calling me and once they did they informed me they had no time for surgery and the earliest to get her in was the next Tuesday. I asked is waiting that long going to be life threatening and they assured me it was not and she was stable. When I picked her up I expressed concerns about her rapid breathing and said she doesn't look good to me. The assistant told me they had examined her and she wasn't in any immediate danger. The next morning she died in horrible pain and we were helpless to do anything about it! Had I known she was in danger I would have found alternative treatment and at least if her condition was something that couldn't be fixed I would have had an opportunity to put her down humanely. Instead she died scared and in terrible pain. I will never ever go back to the place again! I cannot help but wonder if this was one of their pets would they have taken so long to try and address the problem when it was in its either stages. I'm furious with the way we were treated and even more upset about the pain she suffered as she passed away!

~Denison, TX~ Let…read moreme start right out of the gate. My 2 little girl dogs behave HORRIBLY. I mean down right awful. I've had them about 7 years. They are sisters from a different mister. Someone chose to put them out on the side of the road with an open dog crate. My daughter and I fed and watered them for 3 weeks. They would not get near us. The crate was in horrible condition. It was winter time and we couldn't catch them. We bought insulation, and wrapped the plastic crate in it. Then we bought a trap to wrap the dog crate in. Added blankets for warmth. The crate was the only security they both knew. We then taped a sign on it to contact us if they caught them. We checked on them, morning, noon, and night. We even started just going there, and sitting with them. They HATED us. To cut the story short, we caught them. One of them tried to bite me. They were mean. I brought the crate home. I put it in my backyard on the patio. They loved that crate. I would bring it inside at night. They would both sleep in it with the door removed. Finally we won, and they love us. We were able to finally throw the crate away, once they stopped going into it. Their hair was so matted when we found them it was making sores on them. When I took them to the vet for shots and grooming, someone paid for their grooming. It was $120 each dog for grooming. They were so horrible they had to put them to sleep just to groom them. They had sores all over from their hair being matted. I started trying different grooming places. Waxahachie, Red Oak, Ovilla, Sherman, my house, some ladies home that did grooming. HORRIBLE dogs. I bought a grooming table. I spent $300 on professional grooming shears. I knew I could do this at home. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE dogs. I could not groom these wild dogs. But I couldn't let them get matted either. I finally talked to a vet about putting them on anxiety or sleeping pills. Something to make them calm for grooming.! A friend suggested Big Dog Little Dog in Denison, Texas. Brian stepped up to the challenge. Brian is the ONLY person who agreed with me they are not good dogs. I admitted they are HORRIBLE. Brian is also the ONLY one who has worked with me to adjust their medication. I needed someone who could be honest with me to help these dogs. Everyone here is very knowledgeable, personable, and gets it. My dogs are HORRIBLE. My vet here in Denison, is very aware of who I am using for grooming. Brain tells me if they need more or less medication. I can reply to my vet what they need. Brian took them on and has continued to help me with them. He keeps notes, I never have to tell him how to groom them. I try to keep their haircut short because they love to run in the lake. These two girls Dixie and Trixie have grown personality wise. They now trust again. They love to travel in the car back and forth from Texas to Oklahoma. They know when I get their life vest out, they are going in the boat. They go crazy with excitement. I was always stressed out as to where to take my dogs next for grooming. This is the place. Brian is very loyal to his customers. He truly loves ALL dogs. His communication skills are remarkable. I can drop them off and finally be worry free. The place is clean, with plenty of employees. I am elated with how my girls look when they get home. The team at Tailwaggers Country Inn went completely above and beyond to make sure he was happy and well cared for. It honestly felt like he had the most fun of his life while he was there. When my travel got delayed coming home, they were incredibly kind and even drove him back to my house and let him inside so he could be there waiting for me after my long trip. That meant so much to me. I 100% recommend Tailwaggers to anyone looking for a place that truly cares about your dog.
