Avoid This Place: A Dive Bar Masquerading as a Restaurant ​If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We came to Langostra Nayarita expecting a decent meal, but what we got was four and a half hours of pure frustration. ​We arrived ahead of our group and were seated quickly, but that was the only efficient part of the entire experience. They dropped off a tiny cup of ceviche and some tostadas, and then we effectively ceased to exist to the staff. ​The service was nonexistent. Our waitress (the one with blonde hair) was the definition of unprofessional. She spent the entire afternoon doing shots with other customers and lounging at their tables rather than doing her job. In the nearly five hours we were there, we only saw her twice. ​To make matters worse: ​The Food: Completely average. Nothing justifies the lack of service. ​The Atmosphere: They're acting more like a messy dive bar than a professional restaurant. ​The Exit: We have currently been waiting for our check for over an hour. ​It is insulting to pay for a meal when you have to beg for the bare minimum of attention. Great, high-quality food. Great service. Bacon wrapped shrimp are always perfect. Red snapper was crispy on the outside, tender and moist on inside. (I usually avoid times of day when the loud musicians are there, usually late evenings and weekends, because I prefer it more quiet.) I highly recommend Langosta Nayarita! read more

I came here and placed a to go order. I was NOT disappointed. Seafood can be difficult because SO many restaurants mess it up. The shrimp ceviche tostada was BOMB. The right amount of shrimp. They placed enough tostadas, lime, avocado, and salsa. The got the grilled shrimp with fries and rice and it was delicious. I don't know what they put in their spicy sauce but I was licking my fingers. I will return again and I will recommend to all my friends. Street parking was easy. No indoor or outdoor seating. Absolutely delicious! We were a party of 6 including 2 kids. Ordered cheeseburgers for them and the Mega Charola for the adults. This charola was huge and more than enough for 4 adults. It was some of the best mariscos I've had in Chicago if not the best and BYOB. Highly recommend! read more

Piña rellena, Delicious! The molcajete, Bomb!!! Pasta Costa Brava was addicting and out of this world! Their langostinos were great & michelada mix was perfect! Sunday funday cannot get any better with their live music! This right here is the real deal. I will not bother to go back to any of my old mariscos places. It's BYOB. Arrived on a Sunday evening and the place was pretty packed but thankfully my in-laws arrived before us and were able to grab a table. The first thing I noticed was how hot it was in there! The place is loaded with vents so I'm not sure if they were just having issues with the A/C that day (which happened to be a 90 degree day!) but it was super uncomfortable to the point that our whole party was sweating. Let's be grateful that it's a BYOB spot so we had lots of beer on ice ready to cool us down. The restaurant was LOUD, which is pretty typical of these kinds of restaurants but there were also children running around...like really running around the restaurant...not typical and not safe. The restaurant, however, was pretty clean and the bathrooms weren't neglected either so yay for that. Service was good. They kept our table clean and our orders came out in a timely fashion. Now on to the food: We never eat at a mariscos restaurant without ordering langostinos, and these were just OK. Not sure what it was but they were just lacking something. Not bad but definitely not the best. The coctèls are yummy and the champuzon was ok (could have been spicier). The piña rellena was probably the best I've ever had. They do offer a kids menu (quesadillas, chicken nuggets w/fries, etc) which is nice when you have a picky 5 year old. The portions are generous. All in all, this place is your typical BYOB mariscos joint with loud music and pretty average prices. read more

Went with friends for a birthday dinner. The food was good. It's BYOB. They have karaoke. It would be great if they turned down the background music so you can hear people singing. Our meals were delicious and our friendly server, Rigoberto, went well above and beyond to make sure that our group enjoyed their dining experience. Food is delicious, service not so! Today was the last straw! We placed an order over the phone requesting French fries on the side in both English and Spanish. Upon our pick up, cashier asked garlic on the side? We ordered Garlic Shrimp with fries on the side. My guest asked who does that? I said idk and proceeded to laugh. Cashier said don't laugh it's not funny people request it that way? I stated I understand, however, we requested the French fries on the side over the telephone in English and Spanish. They proceeded to ask the same question in person by several people. We received our order packaged in bag quickly, we opened and checked that our order was correct. It was! Overall, food was delicious and eaten but service is lacking therefore we don't attend locale, buy drinks, or tip. Just call in, pick up, take home, and eat. When we do have the patience to be treated less than adequate yet desire great food, we make the effort to dine in at locale sometimes purchasing drinks most of the time BYOB. This place is great but the service is terrible. The food is delicious and weekends are GREAT with karaoke nights or live music. Micheladas are just perfect I couldn't believe this place was so close to me. A group of friend and I waited 25-30mins just for our drinks. To tell you this much our food arrived 1st than our drinks and they forgot about our appetizers. I do wish to see some changes when it comes to the waitresses. They seem to attend men better than a table of women perhaps because they think they'll get a better tip? Who knows!
