March 2025 Downton Abbey themed tea
Jen J.

This is such a cute place! My mom took me for my birthday and they had a place card at our table for me. We donned their tea hats and had a lovely tea that was Downton Abbey themed. The teas were paired really well and the food overall was good (especially the scones!). Would definitely go back.

This was my second visit. Usually I scope out the menus to see what sounds fun. In April they had a Willy Wonka themed menu so that's really what drew me in. I was definitely sugared out when we were done, but everything was fantastic yet again! Such a fun and unique thing to have here.

Swan Lake themed afternoon tea menu

I was looking for something different to do in Huntsville and came across Lanier House Madison afternoon tea. Such a cute spot for an afternoon tea experience. I loved the theme for April - Swan Lake. The three different courses and the accompanying teas were all delicious. The ladies that were attending to the guests were so attentive as well. I would definitely come back for another afternoon tea experience.

This place is so cute and such a great experience! First of all, the decor inside is absolutely adorable. There's several different sitting areas, each of which is somewhat unique but they all tie together beautifully. Honestly, just a million different spots to take cute pictures in. Initially, I wasn't so sure about the price tag for the tea service, but it is well worth it. We got three different teas, all unique, tasty, and delicious. Our server explained each tea and the best way to drink it. You also get a tray of snacks to eat along with it - sweet and savory. The menu also changes seasonally. It is WELL worth the price. The staff is also very friendly. I came here for my sister's birthday and enjoyed it so much I decided to throw a friend's bridal shower there later. Both events were a hit. They can accomodate parties - you can rent out the whole place, or simply make a regular reservation for a group up to 19. The teas are on a regular schedule, and you are limited to your 1.5 hour time slot. I recommend making reservations as they do fill up quickly. They are located in downtown Madison. Parking is pretty limited and fills up if you come too close to your start time (but they won't let you in before the start time). You could find parking nearby and just walk a little. I highly recommend this place for a really fun experience, and also to support a local business!

Such an amazing experience. Everything was clean and ready when we got there. As long as you have a reservation, there is no wait, even for the food. The servers were swift with every request. As soon as we sat down, the food tower was given to us, along with the tea. The desserts and savories are to die for. Everything was beautifully crafted and extremely flavorful. Seems like a small amount of food, but is very filling. A great place for conversation.

When my husband and I aren't hitting up coffee shops, we LOVE having afternoon tea at the Lanier House. We've been several times and will continue to patron this tea house. Their teas are great, and their treats are amazing! A perfect English tea experience. Note: This is not a walk-in establishment. All visits require a reservation in advance. Pros - Cute location - Cozy atmosphere. The whole tea house is decorated with plush chairs and sofas, dainty tea sets, and bowers of flowers and lights. - The service is amazing. A staff member brings you a new pot of tea for every course and explains how it is best taken (sugar, cream, etc). They also explain all the snacks that come with your tea. They post a new menu and theme every month. If you try it one month, you'll have a new experience next month, so there's plenty of reason to go back. I loved their autumn and Christmas-themed teas. - You can reserve private tea parties for large groups or reserve a regular tea for two. - All the staff and everyone who attends tea dresses so adorably in cute dresses and hats. I don't think there's a required dress code for patrons (so I don't think you "have" to), but everyone seems to love dressing up for the occasion, and it really adds to the atmosphere. I, personally, always wear a cute dress to attend. For the St. Patrick's tea, my husband and I both wore green. It's a fun opportunity to dress up a little if that's what you like. - They have a Facebook page and a newsletter, which I highly encourage you to follow so you can be updated as soon as their monthly tea menus are changed. - They have tea for children, too. They even had Santa for kids at Christmas. Cons - This place is usually booked (which shows you how good they are). So, if you want tea on short notice, you probably won't get it. Most reservations have to be made 2-4 weeks in advance. I advise to follow their newsletter or Facebook page to be notified of their new menus so you you can decide ASAP if you want to book for that month. Sometimes you have to book fast, or you won't get in before the menu for the month changes. They booked so quickly for February (Valentine's month) that they had to temporarily add extra days and hours so more people wouldn't miss out. - They're currently only open Tuesday through Saturday (except for that busy February, where they also opened on Sundays). If they want to do a 5-day week, that's fine, but I'd prefer if they did one less weekday so they could be open for both Saturday and Sunday. The tea is an afternoon experience, and most people work on weekdays, which means Saturday is the only day for a lot of people, and that day is always the first day to have all the reservations taken. Overall, they're amazing, and I highly recommend them.

Such a fun experience. Get dressed up and enjoy an afternoon of high tea. The food was tasty. the tea was refreshing. And the decor was darling.

The tower of savory and sweet!

I walked in a little past 1pm, having studied the chalkboard outside with a delightful-sounding selection of spring specials. As I'm ordering, the barista and I alike see another group walk in. And another. And another-- I'm not seeing anyone else in the rather small physical establishment, and as a former barista am beginning to sweat a bit for this Greenroom employee and all of the orders he is about to have to deal with, seemingly by himself (cue the cheerful chime announcing more customers, and more customers). As I wait for my order, grateful to be the first in this long line, I sit to casually read a book and take my opportunity to observe my fellow patrons of this fine little spot. I hear the barista asking customers if they're okay with waiting, and he begins to ask customers if they're okay with waiting a minute for their orders. I'm content, as I have no urgent arrangements, and the now plastic-gloved barista comes up to me, informing me that they have no lime to garnish the avocado toast I've ordered and asking if that was okay. I assert as much and he returns to the line; I think to myself that he could have saved the time and not told me and I wouldn't have known the difference, but I'm pleased with his attention to detail. I get my to-go box of avocado toast with an egg and am pleased to open it and try a bite. I feel that it could have done with red pepper flakes (my favorite), but the everything bagel seasoning added a nice texture and the overall flavor profile was delightfully savory. As for my drink, which came later, it was the Good Riddance: a vanilla cold brew with lime pie cold foam (which lived up to the name tremendously). It also had what I believe to be graham cracker or pie crust crumbles on the top that were delightful! The drink was delicious and perfect for the spring weather. I sit upstairs as I always do, but specifically on the patio where I can see all of MidCity and the surrounding businesses. There's nonintrusive and enjoyable music presumably coming from the Camp itself? After an hour or so of enjoying my spoils, I return to the counter below to see if the barista is still there now that the rush is over. He is now accompanied by another coworker, blessedly, and I learn that his name is Caleb. We chat for a few moments and I introduce myself before leaving, but not before taking another picture of all the event calendars for the week and month. Now I'm positively fueled for my afternoon and grateful for the relaxed atmosphere. (Thanks for reading this far if you did, and shoutout again to Caleb for doing his job tremendously! He informed me that he enjoys a good rush of customers, and I replied that I would have cried to have been in the situation that he handled with great poise and dedication. The great service alongside the excellent product left me wanting to return quickly!)

I like the monkey bread - it's not too sweet, an excellent complement to their espresso. Their espresso tonic, which I had on my second visit while I was in town, is a delicious drink. Perfect coffee/tonic/syrup ratio. Adorable interior, perfect for a quiet convo or a book read, two things I saw happening when I dropped in. Super friendly baristas too. Excellent!!

I've been missing their yummy products for a while; before they went brick and mortar, I was only ever able to catch them on Thursdays off University Drive, and they stopped doing that a few months prior to launching their full store. The full store is way out in Madison, which is pretty far out of the way for me, so it's been a long time since I last had any of their drinks. Luckily, I was passing through Madison about a week or two ago and had the time to stop in to see their new spot. It's really not far at all from where they'd park the trailer during their days in Madison; find it in the same shopping center as 2nd and Charles. Ample parking is available. Inside, you'll find a very adorably decorated, cozy, instagrammable boba shop. They have a loooot of drink choices (milk teas, fruit teas, coffees, etc), lots of types of boba, and their newest addition: soft serve ice cream! The ice cream comes in a lot of flavors that are pretty unique to this area: taro, Thai tea, mango, green tea, etc. Exact flavors vary from day to day but they have a small freezer with cups full you can also order. They also have a selection of fun snacks like Calbee chips, spicy rice crackers, and Pocky. I feel lucky we have two fabulous dedicated boba spots in the Huntsville area. ShakeiT Boba is my preferred spot if you want a more dessert or coffee-centric boba drink. Their Thai milk tea and their S'mores milk tea are delightful treats, although my most common order is a brown sugar or Thai coffee with coffee jelly. So so good and a great caffeine/happiness/energy boost! Their cups are gorgeous and the decorations and merch are so fun. I've noticed lots of familiar staff faces over the years too. I think it's a good sign that they can retain employees. And of course the family who owns the place is also often working hard behind the counter. :) Give this lovely business a try when you get the chance!
