I hadn't been to the Greenroom in quite a while, but was across the street and needed a bite and caffeine for the Friday afternoon. I walked in a little past 1pm, having studied the chalkboard outside with a delightful-sounding selection of spring specials. As I'm ordering, the barista and I alike see another group walk in. And another. And another-- I'm not seeing anyone else in the rather small physical establishment, and as a former barista am beginning to sweat a bit for this Greenroom employee and all of the orders he is about to have to deal with, seemingly by himself (cue the cheerful chime announcing more customers, and more customers). As I wait for my order, grateful to be the first in this long line, I sit to casually read a book and take my opportunity to observe my fellow patrons of this fine little spot. I hear the barista asking customers if they're okay with waiting, and he begins to ask customers if they're okay with waiting a minute for their orders. I'm content, as I have no urgent arrangements, and the now plastic-gloved barista comes up to me, informing me that they have no lime to garnish the avocado toast I've ordered and asking if that was okay. I assert as much and he returns to the line; I think to myself that he could have saved the time and not told me and I wouldn't have known the difference, but I'm pleased with his attention to detail. I get my to-go box of avocado toast with an egg and am pleased to open it and try a bite. I feel that it could have done with red pepper flakes (my favorite), but the everything bagel seasoning added a nice texture and the overall flavor profile was delightfully savory. As for my drink, which came later, it was the Good Riddance: a vanilla cold brew with lime pie cold foam (which lived up to the name tremendously). It also had what I believe to be graham cracker or pie crust crumbles on the top that were delightful! The drink was delicious and perfect for the spring weather. I sit upstairs as I always do, but specifically on the patio where I can see all of MidCity and the surrounding businesses. There's nonintrusive and enjoyable music presumably coming from the Camp itself? After an hour or so of enjoying my spoils, I return to the counter below to see if the barista is still there now that the rush is over. He is now accompanied by another coworker, blessedly, and I learn that his name is Caleb. We chat for a few moments and I introduce myself before leaving, but not before taking another picture of all the event calendars for the week and month. Now I'm positively fueled for my afternoon and grateful for the relaxed atmosphere. (Thanks for reading this far if you did, and shoutout again to Caleb for doing his job tremendously! He informed me that he enjoys a good rush of customers, and I replied that I would have cried to have been in the situation that he handled with great poise and dedication. This is a delightful little coffeehouse! Skilled baristas, so if you're a hardcore coffee enthusiast you're in luck. Their coffee is so good that I bought a bag. I like the monkey bread - it's not too sweet, an excellent complement to their espresso. Their espresso tonic, which I had on my second visit while I was in town, is a delicious drink. I love the camp! & what's even better is they have some of the best coffee in HSV. It's always rich, flavorful, and strong Not very spacious for having a sit down date, BUT on slow mornings you are more than likely to find a place to sit. They have some barstool seating and a few comfy couches. I love the decor for the smaller space. The staff is always friendly & quick to get your coffee out. We ordered the Bananas Foster (Hot) and Stick Season (cold). FANTASTIC. I usually order the latte with oat milk but wanted to branch out. Needed a caffeine fix on the way to the EarlyWorks Children's Museum. It took me a minute to find The Greenroom. After circling a couple times, I realized it's in the center of The Camp. Once we made it in, we found a friendly staff, a small sitting area, and coffee options with house made syrup. I went with my standard iced vanilla latte and enjoyed it! Simply chatting and making me not only feel comfy, but also as if my presence was really appreciated in their establishment! I was traveling to Huntsville for a short trip and was looking for a coffee shop near my hotel to grab a latte. The Greenroom had great reviews so I decided to give it a try! First off, it was nestled between an awesome farmers market (on the Sunday I was there at least) and the Camp - a lively bar/restaurant with live music and TONS of people on a Sunday afternoon. I was greeted promptly and received friendly service from the barista. The shop was not crowded so I did not have to wait long for my drink. The iced latte with oat milk was great! The shop is small but has a very cute vibe. I enjoyed looking at all the records while I was waiting. Good location, service and product. I assume they usually have parking but the lot was full for the market that day. Plenty of parking nearby. read more

Still checking places off on my tour of coffee around Huntsville, I stopped in at the Greenroom after work one day last week. Located inside the Camp -- kind of a cool concept at MidCity that has a couple food trucks/trailers, space for music and other entertainment, etc -- the Greenroom is a very tiny, attractive, hip coffee shop. There's only a couple of super close together seats inside, so I'd recommend getting your drink to go. The service was very friendly and nice when I visited. I opted to try one of their drinks on special for...the week? month? season? Not sure, but it was a limited time bananas foster coffee. It was solid -- faintly smoky, really light banana flavor (not noticeable in all sips), and not cloyingly sweet. I probably wouldn't return just to get this drink specifically, but I'd be down to try other drinks, were it not for the price, which I thought was honestly kinda nuts. I get paying a premium for kinda ~fancy~ coffee. I was fully expecting paying between 4-6 bucks for a medium sized drink -- I would say most comparable spots and drinks run about $5.50. This drink, though, was $7.50 before tip, and the size was comparable to a /small/ drink. I didn't specify size when I ordered, so I don't have a problem with them giving me a smaller size necessarily, but I do have an issue paying $7.50 for a cup about the size of my fist. That's just too steep for me, even if the drink had blown my mind. It's still worth a shot to see if it's to your liking, but for me I probably wouldn't go again unless the prices came down a bit. read more

Highlights: + small shop with a few seats on the main floor with the register and goods, and then up the stairs you'll find a patio deck that offers outside seatings. More seating can be found outside in the Camp area. One thing to note, is it can feel really really tight when crowded. + the quality is decent , but the prices can be a bit high based on what you order (i.e. milk alternatives). Overall, it's budget-ish friendly that is a nice treat once in a while, and with after tax and tip, if you do, you'll walk away with some change(not much but some) if you have $10 + staff was friendly + there is parking available; however, depending upon the events going on during that day (weekends especially) you may have to park a bit farther out and walk a few extra feet from the lot across the ways. read more

My husband and I have been to this coffee shop a couple of times. I'd say it's more of a 3.5 stars place, but I round up for Yelp. For the record, any place I give 3.5 is a place I'd be willing to return to, so they're okay. Pros - Great location at the Camp - Lots of parking - Cozy atmosphere - Good service - Great coffee with a good selection of flavors - A menu board - Outdoor seating - Open on Sunday Cons - The biggest con for me was the food selection. They have a few sandwiches, but every time we went there, there was always some reason why I couldn't order one. They'll also toast your bagels without asking first, and that's a major no for me. - They don't have much in the way of pastries. Maybe a few muffins and some bagels (if you're lucky). - Almost no seating. This is a TINY coffee shop (but it is cute on the inside). They're located at the Camp, so it's mostly expected that you'll take your coffee and go hang out there or just get your order to-go. There's a little bit of seating just outside and a very limited amount of seating inside. If you're more of a to-go coffee person, you might not mind, especially because their location out on the 72 may be more convenient for you because I know there aren't many good locally-owned coffee shops on that side of town. In fact, the reason we've been there as much as we have, despite their limited seating, is that they're the closest coffee shop to my husband's work. - Their outside tables are really wobbly. My husband only lightly bumped it, and my coffee went flying all over the place, and there were pretty much no tables inside. - No self-serve water - Paper cups They're not my go-to place for food, but they do have good coffee. $8 for a 16 oz is a little cray. I was hoping at that price point the flavors would be pretty easy to decipher at least, but not really. I got a special called the banana foster, which was supposed to be a banana maple iced latte. I have a pretty sensitive palette and couldn't taste a hint of either of those. I wouldn't even be writing this review if it was $6.50. But at $8 it better be pretty dang good for me to be happy. read more

This is an eclectic two-story coffee shop made from shipping containers. There is limited seating inside but plenty of outdoor seating with a covered second deck. They use Counter Culture Coffee Roasters which was new to me but excellent coffee. The barista was very knowledgeable and friendly. The Camp,next-door, sort of, but joined was an interesting collection of outdoor camping scenarios; campfire seating, a firetruck, and airstream trailer, and a stage for outdoor music. What a little gem hidden in the middle of the party! So much has changed since I left Huntsville 3 years ago. The Camp was just coming back then, but oh my, they've never stop adding things! Not sure how long Greenroom has been there, but I'm so happy that they are there! I actually have an authentic coffee shop favorite to visit when I'm in town. Although there was no food, there was coffee! When coffee selections are written in chalk on a board, you know everything is about to be DELICIOUS--and indeed it was. I ordered a caramel latte with whole cream and a little extra caramel. The young ladies whipping up the goods were so warm and welcoming, a true southern charming invite! If anyone knows me, they know I love me some nostalgia! Though an intimate space, it is a sight for old school eyes! There was an authentic record player and record sleeves on the wall. It was cold out and the cafe provided warm drinks and adorable heart shaped candy cane melts to put in your hot drinks to add peppermint flavor. This location has recently been built, and I expect their reviews to get better. (The Alchemy in Lowe Mill averages 4.5 stars on Yelp.) Yes, this location does have a restroom. I was disappointed today that the parking lot is not paved. It had rained, and the small limestone gravels parking lot had several splashy ruts and potholes. The Kitchen Sink Cookies here are delicious. The Biscotti was average. I'd like to try a muffin. Indoor seating is limited. You might prefer to come on a nice day and sit outside. I think there is a nice lounge area on the roof, but I haven't been up there yet. They also make breakfast and lunch. The health department rating on the wall is 98. read more

Both days I stopped in were excellent!! The iced coffee was on point and the bread was delicious. The staff was engaged and helpful--even the ones who weren't working, they just happened to stop in at the time we were in. Although I love the intimate atmosphere of the Greenroom at the Camp, it can be difficult to get into the shop during peak hours and can make you feel very claustrophobic. After you move past the anxiety of being packed into the place like a sardine, you'll find yourself at the register where you can order your hella overpriced coffee. You think Starbucks is overpriced? This is worse. You'll get a small (12oz) or medium (16oz) for anywhere between $6-$9. The baristas are very slow at making the coffee because they can never seem to get the calibration of the machine right and also they are never super friendly or helpful with recommendations. This morning when I got my iced vanilla latte, it wasn't filled to the top and there was definitely tons of space for more milk... which I DEFINITELY paid for. My husband asked for a draft kombucha and the barista didn't bother to verify if the flavor of the day would be acceptable. After all these negatives, I will say that I love that the syrups are made in house and both the lavender and vanilla syrups are delicious. read more

Interesting blends I have never tried and I tried the nitro and another hot coffee that is infused with citrus and bee pollen.. sounds interesting and was delicious!! Super tasty mocha lattes. The coffee flavor is smooth, not like the burnt stuff uncalibrated chain stores usually churn out. The style of the shop is perfect for the predominantly outdoor seating arrangement. The staff is all smiles and greetings, do enjoy. read more

We were in Huntsville AL for a soccer tournament and came across this very cool little coffee shop in a small food truck type court in front of the big Top Golf / REI / D&B complex. The service was great - very friendly! But we had the best cup of coffee we'd had the entire road trip. Worth a stop! read more
