Lake Lanier is Beautiful for Sailing!
    Bailey B.

Best value, great people, and a wonderful place for family. My wife and I have been members for about a year. It has been among the most positive, rewarding, and enjoyable aspects of life for both of us. Sailing does not have to be a bank-breaking activity! This club uses simple keelboats, in good condition, from 22-29 feet in length. It has a simple clubhouse/office on a houseboat platform at the lake. There are no 6-figure racing yachts here! Instead, there are good boats, good people, and lots of sailing at a rate many people can easily afford.

    Out on a sail!

We were invited to a weekend out on Lake Lanier on one of Lake Lanier's houseboats. OMG - what a…read moreHUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! Their website proudly professes a $50,000 renovation to each of their 14 houseboats but I can tell you that no matter how much money you spend, if you don't keep it cleaned up it will always look worth a lot less. The walls were covered in a very dark brown paneling that made the boat feel small and cramped. The two upstairs beds (no bedrooms, as the bed went from wall to wall) were on a raised platform with the bed pad sitting on top and the two bedrooms downstairs the bed pad was on the floor. Their were 2 bathrooms, only 1 shower - but it was big enough for two (dirty looking though, icky things on the floor and on the top) and the bathroom floor, you know, around the toilet bottom were guys tend to hit when they miss the actual commode, yellow, brown, slimy, icky icky icky!!! Everywhere I looked the place was scuffed up, dirty, and had so many spiderwebs that I thought they had just decorated early for Halloween! I don't believe these boats actually go through an actual stripped down cleaning!!! When paying $600 a day, you would expect to have the houseboat in the same if not better condition than if you were staying in a hotel room. Right?!!!! There were 6 people in our party and none of us will ever rent again from Lake Lanier Harbor Marina. On Saturday night, the generator went out, we had no lights, no a/c, nothing. We managed to get back to the Harbor expecting to find the "on-call" tech waiting for us as we had put the emergency call in 30 minutes prior to our arrival, but no luck. We must have made 6 phone calls and finally he arrived. I found out that the "on-call" guy lives over an hour away. Wow, great management decision on that one guys! So after a 3 1/2 hour wait, we finally got up and running again, just in time to go to bed as by then we were exhausted, cranky, tired, and hot! The hot tub had crud and dirt swirling around in the bottom of the seats and floor, we didn't want to risk catching anything so we opted not to use it. Based on the money spent, this was the worst weekend get-away ever. Here are their details: All houseboats are complete with sleeping accommodations for 10, full kitchen, living area with entertainment center, bath-and-a-half, central heat and air, gas grill and Jacuzzi and waterslide on the top deck. Houseboats are available for rental on a daily and weekly basis. Guests can pre-order groceries to be stocked on your houseboat. Pricing In Season (April-Labor Day) / Off Season (Labor Day-March) Weekend Package $1,999 / $1,499 3 nights (Fri. 3p-Mon. 9a) Midweek Package $1,899 / $1,299 4 nights (Mon. 3p-Fri. 9a) Full Week Package $2,599 / $1,899 6 nights 24 Hour Rental $649 / $449 Monday thru Thursday 24 Hour Rental $699 / $549 Friday thru Sunday (Upon availability only)

While driving less than a mile from the church we noticed the blue sign that kinda sit off from the road. We were only trying to kill a little time and I love fishing so I decided to check it out. We pulled in and went to check into the Bait Shop as we were instructed to by the signage on property. There were two men on duty and they both were friendly, helpful and encouraged me to try the property out since it was my first time being there. They had everything a person would need to start their fishing adventure. There was a nominal fee that was well worth the price to enjoy the lake. As you entered the lake part you could see geese and ducks enjoying the property, there was a boating launch part if you wanted to go out in the middle and fish and there was a bridge that extended across it for up close fishing. The bridge also led to a part of the lake that was exclusive for children 12 and under. It obviously was stocked with fish to help encourage the younger kids to get involved with fishing. They had a little paddle boat attached to the bridge if you wanted to go out in that. I saw multiple families out there enjoying the lake with their children. It is definitely a family oriented place for you and the kids to enjoy the joy of fishing. I saw a man catch some catfish and another man catch something that he put up too quick for me to identify. There was benches out there for you to sit and had several spots where it appeared someone had a fire pit started the old fashioned way out of wood. Next to the fire pits were trees that had already been chopped so you could easily start a night fire if need be. The noise level was respectable as everyone seemed to be totally focused on the sport of fishing. Me and my son were not there long at all but while there we sat on the benches enjoying the waterfall that was in the middle of the lake, my son walking up to the ducks and their babies and enjoying the peaceful serene scenery. As we exited it also asked that you stop into the bait shop and check out. Again, the man was friendly flashing me a smile and wave as we drove off. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone interested in fishing.

Update: Exceptional Resolution and Outstanding Service from Singleton Marine…read more I wanted to provide an update to my previous review about the Singleton Marine Lake Allatoona dealership. After facing some initial challenges with my Harris Tritoon / Pontton boat--which arrived with damages and a persistent electrical issues--I am thrilled to say that the problem has been fully resolved. GM Matt Seelbinder and Service Manager Justin went above and beyond to address the situation. They worked closely with the manufacturer to replace our boat with a brand new 2025 Solstice, free of any defects. We took delivery this past Friday and have been enjoying the boat all weekend. The initial issue turned out to be a rare manufacturing defect--a misplaced screw hitting a wire--which can be complex and hard to diagnose/resolve at a dealership. The boat had to go back to the manufacturing facility. Matt, Justin, and the entire team at Singleton Marine at Lake Allatoona demonstrated exceptional dedication and professionalism. Their commitment to making things right has earned my gratitude and business for life. I highly recommend Singleton Marine for their outstanding customer service and ability to turn a challenging/complex situation into a positive experience. Many thanks to Matt, Justin, and the team for their hard work and for restoring our confidence in their dealership. We look forward to many enjoyable times on the water with our new boat!

The boat arrived to me with damage on the outdrive that wasn't there when I inspected the boat and took a test drive. The transport company had photos of the damage before it left the Singleton lot. I had to take it to a local Cobalt dealer and have the outdrive replaced. Working with Casey Smith at Singleton, they did their due-diligence and determined that the damage happened to the boat while in their custody, after I had inspected it. Casey paid for the replacement of the outdrive and all is good! Accidents happen - it's all in how they are resolved. Singleton did an amazing job of taking ownership and paying for the damage. I would buy another boat from there for sure!!
