I'm moving to the country. I'm going to eat a lot of peaches.

Lanni orchard is both a farm stand as well as a pick your own place. I only go for the farm stand (I'm more than happy to pay somebody to do the manual labor of picking). The farm stand is part fresh produce, grown either on Lanni's Farm or at other local farms, part plant nursery, and part gourmet grocer - artisanal jams, baked goods, etc. I go for the produce. More specifically - the canning boxes. A 20 lb box of canning peaches for $25. 2 boxes. $50. 40 lbs of Peach heaven! Life is peachy! They also have canning boxes of tomatoes, apples, peats, peppers.

Great place for pick your own fruits to go to in the summer and fall with friends and family or if you are just to stop in and get your daily groceries.Went in for fresh cut flowers and came out with so much more,Staff has always been great with answering questions and helping out! Fresh baked pies and new pastry's pop up every time I'm in there! Throughout the years they've gotten a lot of new items. If you haven't gone for a few years I definitely recommend it.They have a few selections of wine and beer, cheeses barts ice cream seasonings spices, chocolates, and fudge they have a whole craft section for kids. A new jumping pillow that was installed last year kids loved it right after the corn maze. It has definitely improved as you can see it's getting passed down generations and getting more modernized which is always good as you can see the bunch of selections of allergy problems dietary restrictions!! It's just a really good place to stop by especially because they're open your round unlike other markets and orchards!!

Yuppies that we are, I insisted we find a local place off the beaten path to buy some fruit, possibly even some local maple syrup. I just didn't know if we'd be that lucky! Orchard we did find, and Flat Hill did not disappoint. We drove down a curvy lane that evoked fantasies of one day living on a property with rolling hills and views of cattle (but still within 30 minutes of Boston of course!) and we came upon Flat Hills parking lot and little country store. So cute! The shop was filled with fruit and gourds and pies and the like. It was all lovely. We picked a peck of pears, some mini pumpkins to decorate the table top and a chunk of fudge, also made locally, of course. From outside, we grabbed ourselves two well rounded pumpkins and two pots of marvelous mums, to adorn our front porch back in the citay. All came to a reasonable $30 or so. Debit and credit cards accepted, people! Now THIS is a farm I can work with. The woman was friendly and helpful, and there wasn't anyone else there the whole time. I like not being around people. That's why I live in the city, duh. Give em' a shot if you're out that way, or if you're looking for a reason to be out that way. They're great!

From Boston, it's a scenic drive out to Stow. I couldn't stop gushing over the foliage on the way there - I've turned into a total leaf peeper. Carver Hill is absolutely stunning in the fall, definitely worth a trip. Pleasantly surprised to find the lot half-empty when we arrived on the later side of a Saturday but then it filled up by the time we left around 3. To your right, as soon as you drive in, you'll see an area with pumpkins and the farm store - this is also where you get PYO fruit/veggies if you're paying with credit. If you have cash on hand, you can pay for a bag at the little stand right in front of the orchard. A peck (the smaller bag) was $25. I was a little skeptical at the size but it's a good deal if you really pack your apples in there. From there, the apple orchard. Not the biggest I've been to and the selection was understandably limited. We missed the sign to download the QR code for a map of the orchard and so had to rely on a photo of a thin pole with all the names/colors wrapped around it. Don't forget to stop at the store before you leave. I grabbed some pumpkin pie, jam, and an apple cider donut - they also have apple cider slushies and multiple flavors of ice cream. The donut was THE BEST, made fresh, almost falling apart, thick and generous coating of cinnamon and sugar (also tasted nutmeg and allspice in the coating). Absolutely worth waiting in the line for, but make sure to pay first and get a little yellow receipt/tag from the register before you get in line for the donuts.

C had making it to a real apple orchard in New Hampshire on her list of must do while we were this far north. We were there in mid October and it was right at the end of the season it seemed. This place has so many treats and fresh produce to choose while you are here. Oddly enough, the best thing I got from here in my opinion was the local beef jerky! So good!! I wish I had more right now! The orchard itself was pretty cool. I'd never seen so many apples. Most of the trees were full of fruit with apples all over the ground. I guess they must yield more than they can use because the shop was full and they had open tours where you could go and pick your own apples. There were tons of varieties of trees on the farm. Lots of other produce is available here too. It appeared to be a complete working farm. The landscape was gorgeous as it's nestled on a sloping hill where you can see for miles it seems. The shopkeepers were super nice and we purchased a few things. A flight in a couple of days back home prohibited us from getting too many things. I won't likely ever return as it's far away and I have been there, done that.... But, YOU should totally go! '26 - 16
