Went to this Halal restaurant for the first time, for the Eid buffet, and the overall experience was not good! It was $35+service charge+tax. What was so ridiculous was that water was not even included in that high price! They charge extra $2 for a small water bottle. On top, server never bothered to tell us that there will be an extra charge for a water bottle and just included in our bill. Parking was also not covered and we were charged for it. Definitely a huge rip-off for what you got for the amount you paid for. When it comes to food, it was just okay and nothing special. There were no beef items beside the ground beef and ground beef with potatoes. Last but not least, we called few days ago for reservation due to a potential high crowd on the Eid day. To our surprise, we were told to just show up and it will be on a first come first serve basis. What a disaster it was and not sure whose idea was that. Even though it had been a while since my last visit, everything still felt familiar in the best way. As always, the service was on point, even with a full crowd. We are not in the area often, and so when we are, I like to try different places. This place seems very modern and clean, and I really wish we had more places like that on the north side. The service was good, although we had to sit outside because the hookah smoke smell was just too strong for me inside. So that's definitely a negative because we should be able to eat inside where AC is without having to sit in a cloud. But being from michigan, I feel like we really know our middle eastern food and this place is good. We were there for lunch, so we had the mixed grill and some other grill items that were good. Stopped by for a late night dinner and was very happy with our choice! The space is quite large with both ample indoor and outdoor space. Hookah is going down everywhere so consider moving outside if you prefer some fresh air. Heaters were abundant and also a play area for the kids. It was about 830-9 pm on a Wednesday and still had a pretty good crowd. Menu is located on a QR code. We opted for the mixed grill which came with two sides. We chose rice and hummus as our sides. We were greeted promptly and were able to choose where we wanted to sit. Lots of space indoors and outdoors and also has a private dining space that you can have private parties in. I love that there was so much space to spread out, and plugs in Al the walls so should you hang out for a work day, you're plugged in and good to go. This place seems very authentic in my opinion, lots of hookah around as well, and all the food looked amazing it was so hard to decide! I got the samosas (half and half) as I couldn't decide which I wanted. I liked them both but prefer the beef! Also I ordered the chicken Schwarma with fries and it was absolutely delicious with the garlic sauce that comes with it. You can sub out your fries for a salad! Everything that came out look phenomenal, I wasn't able to finish all my food, so it was nice to have something for later on. The one thing I would say that would be helpful to know is water came out in a bottle so you're charged $3 for that and then gratuity is added in already as well. Words cannot encompass how much I love this place. On my recent trip to Houston, LaPasha was THE highlight. The only way I can describe this establishment is that this is a place that has something for everybody. The ambience is upbeat and the energy here is amazing. They have different djs come during the week to play music, which is fire. I have never been to a place that has a more diverse patronage. Everybody from single groups of guys, gals, families, and everything in between can be found here. In this aspect, I can easily say LaPasha is an institution of its own. The hostesses are super nice and accommodating. On our first visit our waiter, Mohamed (from Ramallah) was incredible and made amazing suggestions. On our second visit, our waitress Dina was even better and went above and beyond to make sure we had the time of our life here. I love the mint lemonade here and the tricolor smoothie Is also amazing. We haven't tried much of their food but desserts have been pretty amazing. The kanafa is my favorite. It is appropriately cheesy, crunchy and sweet. The rice pudding is also very good. The hookah here is absolutely perfect. I highly suggest getting a fruit head for a great experience. The food and service is what keeps me coming back even though the wait is crazy! On Saturday night I waited over an hour to get my table! Then the table that was given to us, was a tiny table that they stuck behind a small wall, and the chairs was basically towards the walkways. I cannot tolerate people constantly walking behind me. Luckily the Host, Moe, and another manager was able to get the table switched. I would not have stayed seated at that table. Our waiter Ibrahim made up for all that frustration. And is what made the 3 star I was going to give a 4. He was excellent. Very attentive and nice. The food I already knew was going to be good because I've eaten here before. I haven't been disappointed with any of the dishes. My advice is not to go there when you're already very hungry because you will turn Hangry with that wait. Part of the problem why the wait is that long is because it is also a hookah bar and people stay a long time after they've already eaten to chill and smoke their hookah. I don't think restaurant and hookah lounge mesh well together in that regard. You lose customers that want to eat because of the wait. Maybe a good thing for them to do inside the restaurant is to impose a 2 hour seating time. And you can stay as long as you want smoking hookah outside on the patio. read more
