Checked this place out last night and me and my three friends all left with the same feeling "we won't be coming back here anytime soon." This place was recommended to a friend of mine, and she was told that this was authentic Lebanese food, from someone who was from the Middle East himself. As such, we came in with high expectations. The place is nice from the inside, family friendly, and feels safe. I mention this because some places that offer hooka/shisha can be shady and that's not at all the vibe here. However, we ordered three dishes and were left puzzled and wanting more. I ordered the chicken sultani which is a ground chicken kabob and chicken breast kabob pieces. It comes with two sides and I did the rice and salad. My friend had the beef sultani, with fries and hummus, and the other friend ordered the fattoush salad. The chicken dish was inedible, it was dry and mealy, and not seasoned. The beef was rubbery. We tried a bite and left both the beef and chicken alone. The fries and hummus were serviceable, the rice and salad were nothing to write home about. All of that would have been fine if we had received good service. I'm more than happy to go to a place just for shisha. This place, all the servers hung around in a circle and just chatted to one another. It was hard to make eye contact and get their attention. I had been fasting all day due to Ramadan, and wanted water, and had to ask three different times until I got water 40 minutes later. Even to pay our bill, it took literally 46 minutes to get our bill, and another 25 minutes of us realizing they're not going to come around and pick it up, so we got up went to the cashier and had to handle it there. The place had maybe three full tables so it wasn't busy enough to warrant such disregard and we were largely just ignored.I would advise folks to steer clear. read more

The way this place is styled is awesome. The floor tiles and ramps are very pretty imo. Although they have a patio, it is indoors and a/c'd. They must have pretty decent ventilation too because although you can smell the hookah, it isn't overwhelming. Their drinks are a little overpriced, but the food is decently priced and tastes good. This was my second time at Wasfi's. There is a smoking and non-smoking area. It's too bad that the patio seating is smokey. The chicken shawarma is pretty good. As for the hummus, I think it's canned. The pita bread is excellent and fresh-baked. The shawarma is served with a spicy red and garlic sauces. I ordered hot tea. It comes with fresh mint. I wasn't crazy about the flavor. They might be using tap and not filtered water. You get one refill when you order a cup of tea. I'll be back but I hope service is more consistent. read more

Stumbled upon this place on my way home in the midst of Houston traffic n boy am I impressed!!! Only had the hookah did not get to try the food as I had just eaten at a different establishment. Ambiance? ...amazing! It is open and airy with huge windows that let the natural light in. I was promptly greeted and seated and my hookah (which did not cost a ridiculous sum) came out in less than 5 mins. Svc was amazing and my waiter Mohammed was very attentive. 2 hrs and $20 later I am on my way home with no traffic n a huge smile on my face. Will definitely be back to try the food. read more

I am impressed. Our server was fantastic, super friendly and attentive. He did not try to upsell anything, we were looking at the platters to share and he even recommended we got a smaller platter since he thought it would be too much food for our group. I really appreciated the honesty. That being said, we got the medium sized platter which came with a few skewers of chicken, beef, and kofta kabobs. There was hummus and rice as well. EVERYTHING on this platter was fantastic. The chicken and beef was tender, well-seasoned. Temperature was good. Kofta seemed fresh. I was just so happy with this platter. Not to mention it came with fries, which also came out piping hot. I went on a Saturday night, most tables were filled but we were still seated very quickly. The music was loud, and they had a live singer that evening. Very talented too! 5 stars because I have nothing bad to say, the food was excellent, service was impeccable, and the overall vibe of the place was fun! Very clean, WITHOUT the overwhelming smell of cleaning products or bleach that is common in a lot of places recently. Spacious and warm ambiance. Had the falafel platter, wings, pot of green tea and hookah. Everything was fabulous. The falafel is the best I've had in Houston so far. Everything was fresh and displayed beautifully. We were visiting from California and decided to check this place out on a friends referral. Hostess greeted us and sat us down. Our waiter, however was not efficient in serving us. We asked for water along with our appetizers. He brings out the appetizers but fails to bring the waters and at this point had to remind him of the waters ( restaurant was not busy at all; he was waiting on a few tables). We asked for Tahini sauce for the appetizers and he didn't bring it and we waited about 5 mins before we walked to front of the restaurant and asked for it. Throughout the entire night he never checked in with us, to see if we needed anything or how the service was. At time of paying the bill, we tried to ask for a manager and or supervisor and the older lady that was seating guests stated no one was here. At check out, the server coped an attitude when paying the bill and stated " I don't want anything extra" ; still did not apologize for how he treated his customers. Short and sweet - we were given a menu and ordered half chicken and lamb kabob. The server was a tall guy who was extremely rude and unfriendly. We did not get checked on at all the whole night. The food was tasteless. The bill came and it was about twenty dollars more than what th total should have been based on the menu. When we asked about it the server said its higher price after 8pm. I said ok well then you should give us the after 8pm menu not a different one and Jen a bill with different prices. This was met with the worst attitude. Giving them one star just because 0 stars is not an option. Starting with the fact that they wouldn't serve water, and charged us $4 per water bottle, and wouldn't be brought to us by the server but by the hostess cause he didn't really paid much attention to us. Now to our server, he was absolutely awful, didn't really care to serve us, when taking our order literally ignored us and had to repeat my questions more than once. He didn't do much for us, gave us our food but just practically threw it in the table for us and left, and to get our check, it took forever. And then, cherry on top, the system suddenly crashed and our card wouldn't go through, and they were like "take money out of the atm to pay" their ATM in which obviously they get commission for the withdrawals. Overall just plain awful experience, this people ruined our anniversary dinner, we were just trying to have a nice time trying a new place for middle eastern food, but left with such a bad taste in our mouths for all the trouble that just overpowered how the food was. Ever since I went to this place I've been thinking about going again. My friend took me to Wasfi's Grill and Hookah and now I am forever indebted to her. It was SO good! All of the food was so flavorful and very fresh. To be honest the food tastes like someone's grandma is in the back kitchen cooking and my inner foodie is beyond appreciative. What we ate... I had the chicken kabobs with rice and grilled veggies. The portion of chicken and rice are greatly sized considering the price they charge (only $12!). The rice was good by itself but just to further blow your mind they accompanied it with some sort of garlic puree which consists of fresh garlic and olive oil. Mix the rice with the garlic stuff and, voila, HEAVEN! I also tried the salmon kabobs which were just as bomb as the chicken kabobs! I'm not a pescatarian or anything but I know not every restaurant knows how to make a flavorful piece of salmon. With that being said I was pleasantly surprised! There is one downside about this place -- they don't serve alcohol! Initially I was devastated but then I got over it. You also can not bring your own bottle. That's right folks, you'll have to be Sober Sally at this restaurant. They do have hookah and their's is the cheapest I've ever had; only $10! They are also open pretty late during the week and weekends so in my opinion it's the perfect place to eat before or after a night out on the town. I want everyone to love this place as much as I do. A friend of mine absolutely loves this place, so we swung by to give it a try. We were a bit underwhelmed, as while the food was good, the service was beyond lacking. There's a decent size parking lot, but given the number of high traffic businesses that it serves, you're best off carpooling to avoid parking issues. When we went in, the hostess ignored us, so we grabbed our own menus and sat ourselves at a table. It took about twenty minutes for a waiter to realize that we were in his section and needed to be served. He was pretty friendly when he finally arrived, and helped make a couple of recommendations. It was the only high point of service that day. Apparently you can't just get water here, which one of our group wanted to do. The waiter said that they're a coffee shop and hookah bar, so they don't have tap water. I'm not sure where that leap of logic came from. Every other coffee shop and every other hookah bar I've been to has been able to give you a cup of water. The appetizer sampler was solid. The kibbe (seasoned ground beef in a shell) was crisp, the baba ganoush and hummus were on point, and the other "empanada"-- I forget the name-- appetizers were delicious. The family mixed grill was similarly impressive. There was a large amount of food-- including three different meats, rice, French fries, and grilled vegetables. We split it up evenly and barely got through all of it, but there was probably enough food on there to feed a fifth person if we'd come in for a normal meal and not as hungry as we had been. Drink refills took forever to arrive, which was quite annoying considering it shouldn't take over 20 minutes to get an ice tea or a can of Coke The second set of refills we ordered never even came out. We asked twice, waited, and just gave up. Worst part of the service had to be at the end. The waiters obviously lost interest in us-- possibly everyone-- and disappeared. Even my friend who recommended the place admitted that it can take an hour to get the bill because the waiters disappear for smoke breaks or whatever. Two friends came by to say hi and sat with us briefly without ordering anything, then left. When the bill came, they'd added a gratuity since six people had BRIEFLY been at the table, even though only four of us were actually there to eat and drink. All in all, the food is good, and worth the price, but for how bad the service is here, you're better off going to a variety of other locations where you can get MUCH better service. This place is constantly changing managers so I think it's time I give an update review to reflect the new management. Everything is just a-ok, the shisha is outstanding and probably the best in town and service is just fine. I would eat before coming as I am not too impressed with the offerings and quality and plus--prices are little on the higher side.
