The Chipotle Seafood Pasta was absolutely delicious... perfectly grilled, pasta cooked perfectly, and the sauce with just the right amount of heat. My wife's vegetable platter was as beautiful as it was tasty. My wife, son, and brother, took me out to Sunday brunch for my 65th birthday. Our espresso beverages were piping hot and delicious. Our hummus and spicy cauliflower appetizers were excellent. We each ordered a different main course and thoroughly enjoyed our food. Finally, for dessert, we shared a white bread pudding and a tres leches cake. Everything we ate was excellently prepared, perfectly cooked, and incredibly tasty. Our server, Jwana, took this from simply being a celebration meal to being a memorable family experience. Her service was impeccable -- prompt, attentive, friendly, and thoughtful. We were all impressed. To top it all off, the ambiance at the restaurant is perfectly suited to a family gathering. This is my favorite restaurant in all of Houston! Everything I have tried on the menu has been delicious. You can really tell they make the food fresh and with the very best ingredients. The salmon salad with the sun-dried tomato dressing is my go to order but honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My wife and I just had another wonderful lunch at Mezza Grill. I had a roasted lamb sandwich, which was very good. I think it's a new item on the menu. Quite delicious. My wife had the chicken Shawarma bowl which I got to taste after I finished my sandwich. And it was really good. It had a nice base of basmati rice. It was full of greens and chicken with wonderful sauces. My wife in particular likes the pickled onions. And she remarked about the freshness of the salad. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of our waiter, but he was excellent. Nice place, quiet at lunchtime. They do have outdoor seating that we did not avail ourselves of. With so many new places in Houston, it's easy to forget about solid old places. I haven't been to Mezza in probably over 10 years and it's been updated since. Nice open space, good sized bar, delicious food with good portions. Only the shrimp in the campechana was a touch overcooked. All the other meats were super tender including the calamari. Lamb rice and falafel made for a tasty lunch the next day. Note they will charge for their hot sauce. Parking is a large shared lot, but many of the spaces are designated or valet from other businesses. read more

My tastebuds had a party from the beginning to the end! I started with the Seafood Campechana as the appetizer; and it comes with Tortilla chips. I say appetizer, but this dish is huge. I taste every ounce of flavor! It was like a party in my mouth with the combination of lime, jalapeno, pineapple, and small chunks of avocado, and to top it off, the shrimp and crab had their own flavors and spices fused together! Did you all see how big the shrimp were? After the appetizer, I knew I couldn't go wrong with the Pecan-Crusted Salmon, which has a nice favorable crust. Also, the sides are a mushroom risotto with grilled vegetables, making for a great dish with many flavors. For the second dish, my niece went for the Mango Stuffed Chicken, and of course, we shared our plates with each other. It had a very nice crust covering the outside, and it came with a mango buttery sauce to pour on top or inside; we did both. I don't know how they got all the stuffing inside, but I will be getting that next time. We also added two servings of fish tacos, and I must say they were good, too. But let's brag about the service; my nephew is seven, and he's very picky. He eats only eggs and pepperoni pizza! Well, that didn't have either! So the waiter and Chef made a pizza just for him with cheese and grilled shrimp on the side. One more thing: I'm surprised this place isn't charging more for their dishes. Music so loud you had yell at the person across from you. Employees yelling across the restaurant. Wait staffs talking across restaurant to a customer. I had to repeat my order 3 times to the server. The food here is packed with flavor, cooked perfectly, and consistently well done! I've tried several menu items and have yet to experience something that I didn't love. The drinks are top tier crafted drinks with made in-house liquors, syrups, and drink recipes... some of the best I've had. The service is amazing. I've always been greeted immediately, seated to my preference, and checked on not only by my server but the bar staff, and sometimes the owners. We first went here around 2000 when we lived around the corner. It was a regular place for a few years until we moved abroad. Then again 2007-2009 it was a mainstay u til we moved abroad again. Now we are back in houston again and not so close but it's a treat. Large great starters, taboulli salad, grilled eggplant , hummus , salads, and tasty mains, some of which are displayed. On a sat night they are crowded and a bit overwhelmed, but they never rush and with the portions you don't rush from starters to main. Friendly owners and wait staff, food is kind of a mix of Mediterranean and new fusion American whatever that means. read more

We stopped by this spot around 2:30pm and found it surprisingly empty, but I didn't mind much. The space itself is lovely and well-kept. The customer service was just okay--nothing particularly memorable, but it might have been an isolated experience. The food, however, was incredible! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. We decided to visit after seeing Keith Lee's recommendation, and it completely lived up to the hype. We ordered the hummus with pita, mango stuffed chicken, chicken tortilla soup, and chicken shawarma wrap. Every single dish was flavorful and well-prepared. Loved Mezza for over 6 years and within the past 7 months, something must have happened. It's just not the same. The Shish Tawook has lost it pizazz. Dry tough meat, the glaze is gone and the saffron rice isn't very saffron-y. I hope they turn that boat around. read more

Got a roast lamb atop seasoned rice plate and it was quite complex and delicious. Full of flavors, the meat was aromatic and super tender. The dish was topped with almonds, golden raisins, and walnuts for a delightful sweet and savory crunch to the dish. I will 100% come back for this dish. read more

The free chips they give you when you sit down are addicting. Service was also really nice and quick. The calamari and mixed grill plate were really tasty! Was surprised that the large dining room had only a few patrons. The waiter was very accommodating and ordered drinks and the eggplant dip whose description stated it included walnuts. Had been to many middle eastern restaurants but never saw this preparation and it was actually an unexpected good-twist on a typical dish. The pecan crusted salmon salad and the lamb shank were substantial dishes and the flavors were excellent. Came here for HRW and I was impressed by their menu. It's located in the Galleria area. Very spacious plaza with plenty of parking. Services were friendly and quick. Their HRW menu was about four courses with really great portion. It was definitely worth it, we had to-go the food. Portion was quite big but delish. They had an abundant of choices if you like pasta. Would recommend the creme brûlée for desserts. Overall, a great restaurant for lunch/dinner outing in the area. read more

My review is based on my Ubereats/delivery experience. It was recommended to me by my Persian co-workers to try this place out while visiting Houston. I ordered their Beef Kabob and Cornish hen with fries, and I added two orders of Fried Eggplant and Basmati Rice. I love my fried eggplant, which reminds me of home. The kabob was juicy and delicious, and they also gave me some flat bread. If only I knew it comes with it, I should have ordered a babaganoush with it. I love rice, and I when I eat basmatic rice, I enjoy it with butter and not on a little dry side. My Ubereats/delivery experience was amazing, and I enjoyed my food from Mezza. read more

Whew So I ordered online for pickup and will say I was quite impressed at the organization and customer service. I received text updates and all. This was my first time visiting and I ordered the spicy chicken wrap. Now now .... when they say spicy it's spicy (that's probably the one problem I should've ordered a drink). Well, I remembered this place and ordering the Curry chicken pasta so I wanted to come back and get that same dish again because it was super delicious the first time I had it! I came here for my birthday with some friends of mine. My friends had gotten there first and had ordered their drinks when I got there. A waiter took some time to come by our table when I came in but when someone did come around, I finally got a chance to ask for a menu and take a look at some drinks and appetizers. We ordered 2 appetizers, a hummus and their fafalal platter. I also got a cocktail to try but wasn't a big fan just because I'm not a big drinker myself. The appetizers came out and then the waiter asked if we'd like to order our main dishes while we snacked on our appetizers. I ordered the chicken curry pasta. It was just as good as the first time I had it. I really enjoyed the food. I did wish that they would do something nice for birthdays but unfortunately they didn't even though we mentioned it. Service I would say is average, We didn't have a waiter come by to check on us nor did they come back to re-fill our drinks after bringing our appetizers. I still would come back though because the place has definitely been renovated since the first time in 2016 that I went. It looks more modern on the inside and its very casual and nice. I placed an order here a few nights ago and in the notes stated "can you swap the veggies for risotto? If not, thank you anyway" As you know, I order from here pretty regularly, and in the past, when I've requested that they swap out one side for the other, they did and there was no extra charge. Well, tonight, I placed my order with a request to swap out one side with another and was surprised to receive a notification on ubereats that the restaurant changed the charge because an item had changed. Apparently, according to the condescending young lady on the phone, they could swap a side but there is an upcharge. So I asked her why not call to notify me of this upcharge instead of just charging my card. I also asked her what's the plan to fix the situation and she apologized and said that there was nothing that they can do, the food had already left. After a shouting match, she condescendingly apologized for "not calling to notify me about a $2 upcharge." To add insult to injury, when I received the order the container containing the main dish was open and didn't look like it was sealed properly, and the box with the "added side" was precariously tilted to the side and leaning on the inside of the other container. In the past, I praised this restaurant for their customer service (they sold me when they called to let me know that my order was going to be 10 minutes late). I have told my friends about this place and have raved about their mango stuffed chicken. I am so disappointed in the way this situation was handled. A simple call to let me know that they were going to upcharge my switch request would've been great. Even when I called, having someone handle the situation differently would've helped. Consumers are asked to be kind during this period, a sentiment to which I agree, but the kindness should go in both directions. Either way, the food was still great (5/5), customer service was disappointing (3/5). read more

My daughter learned about this place from Keith Lee on TikTok and demanded we go. She got the stuffed mango chicken and said it was one of the best things she has tasted it was also a very good portion. I enjoyed the kabob and my son chose the lamb. He said most places can't get lamb right and they did an excellent job except he would have liked the portion to be bigger as it was one very small chop. The service was nice and speedy. In honor of Father's Day, the family chose to eat at Mezza Grille. Right away we were greeted with warm welcomes and seated to our table which we made sure to reserve ahead of time. Off the bat, the aesthetic of the restaurant was very clean, organized and beautifully designed. Our waitress, Kimberly approached our table with a bright smile and ready to go energy. For it being our first time for some of us, we were stuck on options when it came to choosing our entree's. Kimberly was very helpful in deciding on what dishes to try, her opinions and preferences were amazing as each and every one of our dishes were full of delicious flavor. The presentation to each dish was off the charts amazing. We loved our main dishes so much, getting dessert was a must. When our dessert arrived we were blessed to meet the owner, Najah a very bright young lady with a creative mind.
